The Witchs Rebirth - Chapter 179 Pricy Bid
Cat was being cat, she look as if she didn’t see me and jump the starting bid to 2,500. I watch as the locals out bid her. She didn’t win so I didn’t bid. It was more like she was getting them to spend all their money. A trick she use to do on me all the time, until I learn to read her.
The next unit up was a medium-sized storage unit, about 100 square meters wide. There were piles of rubbish in it. With a few wooden crates that nobody knew what was inside, except maybe Cat.
Her eyes were bright and her body was tense. I knew it was my unit. I just had to wait.
The auctioneer raised his hand and started speaking. “This is a very, very, very large storage unit. Perhaps there is some valuable stuff inside. So the starting bid is 200 dollars! 200 dollars! 200 dollars! Whoever is willing, raise your hand quickly and let me see where you are!”
Just when the auctioneer was about to continue calling for bids, Cat raised her number plate. “1000 dollars!” she shouted.
This was her signature move, outbid and make it big. But the price was high enough to make people think. The other people bidding all shook their heads. I however wave my plate number at the lady auctioneer.
“Two Thousand”
It was a tough competition and the bid jump to over ten thousand dollar in minutes. Neither of us seem to be willing to loose, it got so serious and pricey that the other people started to cheer and clap.
The beetle in my hand suddenly flew into the unit and buried itself into one of the boxes. So I up the bid by five thousand dollar.
“Fifteen thousand dollar.” I shouted,
Cat look angry. She stop bidding and walked away. It would seem that today was my day to win.
The auctioneer pointed at me with a beaming smile. “Fifteen thousand, Fifteen thousand, going once, going twice, OKAY! Sold! Congratulations lady, you have got yourself a precious one!”
After paying for the unit. I went to collect my treasure.
There in side a small box was a set of traveler artifact. The set came with a map, binoculars, compass and magnifying glass. Perfect to track your enemies and friends. In a war this was critical for planning.
There also was a set of high quality Sandalwood chair, and a Persian flying carpet. The rest of the items were normal items that I quickly sold off to a local at an unbelievable cheap price of five hundred dollar. I told him that I scored big with the antique rug worth more than forty thousand so I didn’t want to deal with the rest of the other items.
