The Youngest God - Chapter 2
A bright clear sunny day, the temperature was just perfect for swimming in the sky blue ocean, cities were bustling with mortals and immortals from powerful sects. One would think nothing bad would happen in such a perfect day. But suddenly a ray of light fell from the sky moving around as if searching for something. It shone so bright that one would think a god was descending to earth. This ray was seen by all 4 major sects of the Immortal realm, the Ice Phoenix sect, the Golden Raven sect, the Blazing Dragon sect and finally Abyss Illusion sect.
Finally the ray of light stopped searching and set its light directly on top of the Forest of Life.
“Finally, it took forever to get here.. Eh? Why are there so many surrounding me?” the person who thought this was exactly Xiao Xin. The reason people were surrounding him was because they have never seen such a light shine from the heavens, wondering what kind of treasure or being landed in this spot.
“Well whatever, better leave before the light wears out.” and just like that as if there was no one there in the first place, Xiao Xin teleported from that spot and using his divine sense, went to the nearest city.
“It’s been so long since I’ve been here hehe. I wonder what I should do now.” while Xiao Xin was walking down the busy street, many people were giving him weird looks because of the white robe he wore that wrote “Successor” on the back written in the purest gold. Totally oblivious to these ‘weird looks’ Xiao Xin continued to walk down the street.
“Hm what should i do now.” thought Xiao Xin. Just as he was thinking this, Xiao Xin saw two girls running on the other side of the street. One girl yelled “Hurry! we’re going to be late for the Ice Phoenix sect examination!”
“Okay i’m coming!” said the other girl while running and catching up to her friend.
“Sect examination? Sounds interesting.” since Xiao Xin came back to the Immortal realm, he wanted to join a sect, not to learn or anything, he just wanted to make friends and the fastest way he thought of doing that was to join a sect. So he decided to follow behind the girls while maintaining a distance, going to the sect examination site.
5 minutes later….
Xiao Xin arrives at the sect examination site that said “Open! Outer disciple sect recruitment.” Most of the people in the examination site were girls from the ages of 12 – 18 and very few males that seemed to be around 16 – 18 years old.
Xiao Xin approaches one of the male participants and asks “Hey fellow disciple, what’s this examination going to be on?”
“Fellow disciple? Heh if we get that lucky. You, what’s your name? asked the disciple.
“My name? It’s Xiao Xin.”
“Xiao Xin? My name is Jiang Xi. The examination is quite simple actually. We just have to get our ages checked which we’ve already passed because of the formation behind us that only allows people to enter under that age of 19. Anyways the second test is we have to get past that red line 100 meters ahead of us. Of course every step we take the three outer sect elders will apply soul pressure which makes it harder for us to walk forward.” said Jiang Xi
“That’s it? That doesn’t seem to hard” said Xiao Xin
“Doesn’t seem to hard?” said Jiang Xi mockingly. “Out of these 500 people who are participating, probably only 50 will pass based on previous tests.”
“Hmmm…” voiced Xiao Xin, clearly disinterested.
“Che, you’ll see.” Jiang Xi said than walked away.
10 minutes later…
“Okay all participants the examination for this years Ice Phoenix sect will now begin, proceed to walk across the starting line.” said an outer court elder.
As he said that over 500 inspiring cultivators marched towards the outer court elders that were 100 meters away hoping to catch their attention or even catch the attention of the outer court elders who were watching from far away.
Xiao Xin didn’t start running like everyone else did, he instead decided to wait until everyone was half way through the challenge, where most people were barely able to stand up. Some geniuses were able to walk with ease such as Jiang Xi and the two girls he followed coming here.
“Boy, why aren’t you going like everyone else.” asked the outer court elder who announced the starting of the competition.
“Oh, i’m just waiting until everyone reaches half way before starting.” said Xiao Xin casually.
“Why?” asked the Elder curiously.
“That’s because when i start, i won’t have to wait for the people in front of me and squeeze my way through.” said Xiao Xin.
“Boy don’t act to cocky. Start the competition now, the Ice Phoenix sect doesn’t accept overly arrogant people.”
“Hehe sorry, i’ll start right away.” said Xiao Xin.
“Good.” said the elder.
Just as the elder was about to walk towards the ending of the finishing line, in the corner of his eyes, he saw a blur which caused the ground to shake rushing past his eyes towards the three elders which startled them.
What terrifying speed and power thought the three elders and in the blink of an eye, Xiao Xin appeared right in front of the three elders. Although this speed was terrifying to all who saw it, to Xiao Xin, this speed wasn’t even 1% of what he was capable of.
“Y-you what did you do?!” asked one of the three outer court elders.
“What did i do? i obviously walked here.” said Xiao Xin confused.
“I-I see.” said that elder. “Then g-go to the side and wait the others to pass”. said the elder as if a hungry wolf, she wanted to make Xiao Xin her disciple before anyone else could. Seeing the glare in her eyes, the other elders could only role their eyes .
“Okay” said Xiao Xin.
1 hour later…
Finally the rest of the participants started to cross the 100 meter mark including Jiang Xi and the two girls, while the ones who couldn’t move were brought outside of the examination grounds.
“hahaha seems like you passed the test too” said Xiao Xi.
“Y-you monster” said Jiang Xi while panting and with a surprised look on his face.
“Monster? Come on the test wasn’t that hard was it?” said Xiao Xin.
“Che.” sounded Jiang Xi then stopped talking to Xiao Xin.
Seeing that Jiang Xi didn’t talk, Xiao Xin decided not to say anything either and approached the two girls that he followed here.
“Hey wanna be friends? Xiao Xin said to the two girls.
The girls turned around and saw a young man, seemingly a bit taller than them with average looks asking them to be friends with him with an innocent look on his face.
