The Yuhao Chronicles - Volume 1 Chapter 15

As soon as she said this, a foreign, unfathomably strong wave of spiritual power settled over the area Yuhao and Daydream were. Regardless of this strong force pressing down on him, Yuhao remained strong and did not move from his position, lest he announce his presence before the Empress is reasoned with. Contrasting to his will to stay firm, numerous soul beasts, weak and strong that were inhabiting the area scattered in all directions, frightened.

While Daydream was assured that her own actions would not be discovered by the Snow Empress herself, using her absolute control of her Spiritual Detection skill, the Snow Empress would definitely be able to sense the Ice Jade Empress Scorpion’s aura and energy. In the past when similar incidents had occurred, the Snow Empress had let it be as she was focused on breaking through her bottlenecks. The Ice Worm was relying on a similar occurrence today, which was much more likely given the information about her decision to be reborn as a human embryo.

As Yuhao continued to remain still in his makeshift shelter, the originally clouded sky had turned a jade green as a bolt of light began travelling at rapid speeds in their direction.

“Daydream, you are actually still alive. It is no wonder that you’re the longest living spirit beast from our Extreme North.” A crisp voice rang out in all directions. This voice was soon accompanied by a shake of the earth as a jade green scorpion slammed into the snow.

“Ice Emperor, you haven’t died yet, so why can’t I be still alive? Don’t you remember what I said that year? ‘If I don’t die, there’ll be a day where we will become sisters.’” The Skydream Iceworm’s voice suddenly turned gentle, as if reminiscing on all the possible good times.

“Daydream, do you really think I can’t find your physical form as you hide behind this spirit avatar? Since your spirit is here, certainly your body is nearby as well. You better hope I don’t find you!” The empress’ voice rang out from all sides.

“I am here to help sister Bing Bing! I can see that you are not too far away from your limit. Let me help you!” Daydream almost screamed out in frustration.

The voice chuckled arrogantly, assured of her upcoming success, “Your body is more than enough to help me. It’s feeding time Daydream.”

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” Daydream spat back before launching a blinding golden light at the unfocused and self-assured green scorpion. This light quickly wrapped around the scorpion and before she knew it, flew through the rocks and entered straight into Yuhao’s forehead. This was followed shortly by Daydream’s spirit and mental energies being retracted and being similarly absorbed back into his body.

Within Yuhao’s mindscape, as he quickly entered it, there were several golden chains wrapping around an enraged and cursing green scorpion.

“Ice Empress, stop resisting. You’ve already tried so many times, you should know that it’s useless by now.” Daydream said.

The Ice Empress replied coldly, “What do you want?”

Daydream gently said, “I only want to stay with you as a sister forever! As you should have noticed my true body no longer exists. Haven’t you realised that you’ve been looking at my spiritual origin all this time, not a virtual body? After ruling over your domain for so long, you’ve lost your cautiousness. If you hadn’t, I definitely wouldn’t have succeeded so easily. I have a host, or rather a master now. The current me is a soul ring that belongs to him; you should know about the soul rings that these humans have. On the other hand, I’m the continent’s first-ever intelligent soul ring, not including that old guy who fused with his bloodline.”

The Ice Empress cried out involuntarily, “What? You’ve actually become a human’s soul ring? How can this be?! Even though you’re a piece of trash, you’ve still lived for this long. How could a human’s fragile body withstand your enormous energy?!”

The worm grinned at seeing her curiosity ignite, “I simply sealed it. My energy foundation had already been drained by those trash beasts in the Great Dou Forest. I naturally didn’t want to die! I believe that you feel the same as I do. I can sense that your limit will arrive within a hundred years. Because of that, you’re extremely worried. You and me, we both don’t want to die. We’ve already lived this long; how could we be willing to simply turn into a pile of dust? As such, I’ve found the best way to get past this.”

The Ice Jade Empress Scorpion subconsciously asked, “How?”

Daydream replied in a low voice, “By creating a human God. Even though there are some noble soul beasts like you, who are innately born with a powerful physique, you have to admit that we’re much worse than humans in terms of talent. Although a human’s body can’t even be described as insignificant in the face of your Ice Jade Scorpion clan, they can still compete with your ten thousand year, or even hundred thousand-year-old clansmen after cultivating for several decades. Why is that? It’s because they have a different amount of potential than us. Humans have frail bodies and short lifespans. However, their potential has allowed them to obtain the blessings of the heavens. Don’t you remember that incident that happened ten thousand years ago?”

The Ice Empress replied, “The Heavens and the Earth changed colour; a God was suddenly born.”

Daydream nodded, “Right. At that time, I sensed the appearance of at least five Gods. Moreover, two of the Great Star Dou Forest’s Great Beast Kings fell. They were both powerful existences who resided within the core regions of the Great Star Dou Forest,. However, they didn’t fall because they were killed by their enemies, but because they were used to complete the most powerful human who existed ten thousand years ago who became a God.”

At that point, Daydream stopped for a moment. Afterwards, she continued in an even deeper voice, “Ice Empress, we both know the truth. Only Gods have an unlimited lifespan! Even by being reborn as a human, becoming a God is a mere fantasy. The Douluo continent has been around for over a hundred million years, and we soul beasts were around before humans even existed but only a few have ever reached that realm. That is why you haven’t already done so. Neither was I, and that is why I have chosen to instead create a god. Even though I won’t be a god myself, by following him I will share his lifespan. As such, I’ve chosen to become an intelligent spirit ring.”

At this point, the Ice Empress was finally moved. She solemnly asked, “How confident are you?”

Daydream replied, “By myself, at least 80%. Yuhao, my master has an insane amount of talent for his age. You can even sense it. He has only just turned ten and is already nearly rank 30. That is not even including the three powerful spirit essences that he has. If you help me out then I am sure we can push that chance up to 90% easily. The only way Yuhao would be stopped would be through a stupid action or being killed off.”

The Ice Empress was left slightly blank. She finally understood Daydream’s motive for explaining so much to her. A pair of crystal-yellow eyes fell upon Huo Yuhao’s body, a somewhat astonished look in them. Seeing Yuhao and his potential, her dense killing intent and chilliness decreased by a large amount. She was clearly trying to reach a compromise. Although she’d have to give up her freedom in for this chance at achieving immortality, living was still much better than dying.

Daydream seeing this hesitation decided to make the final push, “Please Bing Bing, release your spiritual origin for me. You can’t just hope that I’ll release you like this.”

“Fine, I believe you.” After hesitating for a brief moment, she decided. After all, the current Daydream had already lost her body. After considering several factors, she finally confirmed her decision.
