The Yuhao Chronicles - Volume 1 Chapter 25

Yuhao leaned back on his bedsheet, staring up into the ceiling. The Gold-Scaled Space Wyrm provided him with two abilities, which is surprising considering how useful and powerful the first one is. The first skill, which is still named Portal Control, allows him to create, shape and manipulate portals. He can control the portal size, the location where they appear, and he can actively move them after they are formed.

Originally, before the last evolution that was all he was able to do. However, through the bloodline evolution, it has provided him exceptionally useful ability to interface through the portals. This means that not only can he teleport anything, he can also interact with items in different locations through the portal. Just off the top of his head, Yuhao could imagine several incredible uses of this, such as punching people through the portals from a distance or picking up items in different locations.

There are a few limitations to the skill, outside his need to practice controlling and creating the portals. Firstly, there is a requirement to have seen the location where the portal is being created. Secondly, the greater the size or complexity of the portal shape, the greater the spirit power needed. Lastly, the larger amount of chaotic spirit energy around the portals, the greater drain on Yuhao’s spirit power, as it requires more energy to keep the portal and the space around it stable.

The second skill, while not providing him much offensive or defensive power, is something that is still significant. The skill is called Dimension Gates and allows him to store objects in a separate dimension that is linked and opened exclusively through his soul signature. Copying one’s soul signature is even more complicated and difficult than copying someone’s eye, voice, veins and fingerprint combined, so he was assured that anything he placed within was secure.

The size of the dimension is relevant to an amalgamation of his spirit rank and the age of the spirit ring, and he is always aware of what is inside the dimension at all times. At the moment, if he stores something inside it, the item will simply float in the empty, time-less space, until he removes it. However, the dimension has the potential to absorb elemental essences of a high enough degree, to allow that element to function and exist within the dimension.

Therefore, if Yuhao manages to collect and absorb a high-quality earth essence, wind essence, light essence, dark essence and time essence, the dimension will be able to sustain life. The dimension similarly needed the essences of ice and fire, however, due to his FrostFire spirit holding high-level versions of these elements, the dimension has already passively absorbed an adequate quantity of these essences from his body.

Seeing him dazing off, the Ice Empress decided to get him focused back on his changes, “Congratulations on reaching spirit rank 32, Yuhao!”

Completely forgetting to check how his breakthrough had gone, he was startled to realise that he had jumped up two ranks instead of only one. He had only reached rank thirty-two months ago, so his energy was not as compressed and dense as it was when he skipped ranks after breaking through the rank twenty bottleneck.

“Thanks, Bing Bing,” Yuhao replied cheekily, with her pouting in turn at hearing the nickname he used. It was something that all the spirit beasts caught on to using when they wanted to tease her a little bit as she was the most easily fl.u.s.tered in the group.

“The congratulations and advancements are not over Yuhao,” Amra spoke aloud.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Yuhao questioned, a tad confused.

“When your body absorbed both the Ice Empress’ ring and spirit bone, it increased your physique quite considerably, which was as expected for it being from a four-hundred-thousand-year-old source. At that time you could have released another one of my seals however I didn’t mention it as it wasn’t a suitable time or place to do so. Now, with you absorbing another two, one-hundred-thousand-year-old rings, alongside the high-quality restaurant meal, it has improved your body enough for me to release two essence seals.”

Yuhao’s was astonished, “I can absorb TWO of your seals, right now, at the same time? I thought they were supposed to be very difficult and had high restrictions?”

Amra chuckled, “Oh Yuhao. You certainly underestimate the benefits and powers you have at hand. With just your cultivation technique and no help from spirit bones or rings, you were able to absorb my first seal at the age of six. Now, after being bathed in a and absorbed a combined total of six-hundred-thousand-year-old origin essence, on top of the last two years of cultivating since the release of my second seal, you shouldn’t be surprised you can absorb two seals.”

Yuhao’s mouth was wide open in shock as he began to really come to terms with how heaven-defying the last two months of his life has been. Everything was moving extremely fast, one plan after another, so he never really got the time to assess how lucky and valuable all of the opportunities and events were to not only himself, but any spirit master on the planet. Simply, one of the one-hundred-thousand-year-old rings he absorbed would be enough for a spirit master to be renowned across the land and Yuhao, at this point in time, had four such spirit rings, with his first-ever spirit ring, over the last two months, reaching a still remarkable twenty-four-thousand-years in age.

“Even with all these improvements, you fail to include the well-known fact that any beast over two-hundred-thousand years old will bring unbelievable great benefits to your entire body, not to the fact that the first six rings of each of your spirits simultaneously nourishes your ordinary bones alongside your spirit bones. All of these things create your current body, a body on equal if not higher standards than a rank sixty-five Spirit Emperor.”

Yuhao’s mouth slowly closed as he took several minutes to process and access. He slowly sighed and nodded, “I guess now that I look at it, I shouldn’t be surprised. Luckily nobody else knows about all of these things, otherwise, I am sure they would want to end me purely out of hate for my luck and circ.u.mstance.”

“Yes, yes, you are unbelievably lucky. Now, do you want to get on with the next two seals or not?” Amra stated.

“Yeah let’s go” Yuhao replied before closing his eyes in preparation.

Getting the affirmation he required, Amra released the third and fourth seals on his body. Usually, he would only release one at a time, but he was being really serious earlier when discussing Yuhao’s current physique. His body will easily be able to handle the vigorous origin energy and blood essence that will flow through his body.

As the seals flew off Amra’s body in the mindscape and entered into Yuhao’s physical body, his skin and blood began alternating between a light red and pale gold. The energy, at each stage, strengthens every single physical aspect of his body, including his organs, bones, nails, hairs, skin, veins, arteries, meridians, muscles, ligaments and so much more. This colour alternation continued on for seven hours before gradually settling down to Yuhao’s original lightly tanned skin.

As the process finalised, Yuhao was given the knowledge behind the second blood ring. It is named Three-Eyed Nemean Lion Roar and creates a spectre of the Three-Eyed Nemean Lion that releases a roar that generates an indiscriminate soundwave attack. This soundwave interrupts spiritual abilities and the concentration of nearby beings, as well as causing an intimidating effect on all feline-type martial spirits and beasts.

Happy with his advancement and noticing that it was easily past midnight, decided to sleep until the morning rather than cultivate as he has done so for the past couple months. He has made tremendous progress, more so than he predicted and accepted the fact that one night without cultivating won’t make a difference in the overall scheme of things.

Once the time reached two am in the morning, with Yuhao and most of his spirits beasts asleep, Electrolux and Amra could be seen having a quiet conversation.

“Do you sense her?” Electrolux whispered, his gaze looking up into Yuhao’s mindscape as if watching something outside of it.

Amra nodded, “Yes, back then when we departed from her, for the Icebound Forest, she left, but secretly returned only an hour later. She hasn’t made any moves or sign of being hostile, acting as a mere observer with her aura and presence completely hidden. I can only see her due to my vast experience and spiritual energy.”

“It is curious. Her soul is pure. Even when she attacked our host, her motives were pure of heart and soul. I wonder why she is still here,” Electrolux murmured, just loud enough to be heard.

Amra, not being one to leave mysteries alone, extended his spiritual energy outwards, to communicate with the hidden Snow Empress. Seeing his actions, Electrolux followed suit.

“Hello Snow Empress,” Amra abruptly said, startling her as she believed she was completely hidden and undetected. “Why are you here?”

She quickly reverted her demeanour back to her usual cold and emotionless appearance, “I was just passing through..”

“No need to lie, I have sensed you since you returned back at the Icebound Forest. I know that you hold no ill intent to Yuhao however for me to let you continue as you please, I need to ensure the safety of my host. Now I will ask again. Why are you here?,” Amra curtly stated.

She went to reply before stopping herself, sensing the seriousness of the other party. After a couple of seconds to think about what she wanted to say she responded.

“I have known Ice Empress since she was only eighty-thousand years old. Back then, she was extremely scared of me as I had already secured and held my position as the strongest beast in the Extreme North for several hundred thousand years. Over those years I had grown to be quite isolated, with my species constantly failing to breakthrough and dying to the first heavenly tribulation.”

Amra grew quite interested in hearing this, as these heavenly tribulations didn’t exist before he was imprisoned in the Divine Realm.

She took a breath, before continuing, “To overcome that loneliness, I helped to raise a little Ice Bear that I found. While that eased my solitude slightly, it wasn’t what I deeply needed. That is where Bing Bing came in. Once she got over her fears of me, we slowly grew into close friends and then soul-sisters. I knew I wouldn’t survive the seven-hundred-thousand-year tribulation without dying, so I sought out and found, the Life Goddess’ Spirit orchid, to provide me with the opportunity to be reborn as a human and extend my lifespan that way.”

Both Amra and Electrolux were extremely shocked to hear that not only was a Life Goddess’ Spirit Orchid birthed on this planet, given the fact it takes several million years to develop and flower, but that she had actually found this mythical plant.

Not realising her listeners were in shock, she continued, “At that time I came to terms with parting with my sister for a long time, possibly forever. However, now, being told that there is another way to not only continue living but simultaneously share that future life alongside my sister, I can’t help but seriously assess whether consuming the orchid is the correct path for my future. I just want to observe him for a little while longer to help me make my decision.”

The two listeners sat in silence as they processed all the information that they had just been given. After a couple of minutes that seemed like a much longer time period to the Snow Empress, they both agreed to her request as only benefits can be gained from her possibly joining them.

Amra spoke up, “I hope you do find what you are looking for in Yuhao. He is an amazing boy, soon to be a man, and will undoubtedly blow this planet away with his potential and ability. As one of the many residents within his mind, I also cannot help but try and constantly improve him, and if you joined him, alongside him absorbing the Life Goddess’ Spirit Orchid, that potential and ability would rise astronomically.”

Leaving that as his final statement, Amra and Electrolux retracted their spiritual energies and followed the rest of the entities in the room and went to sleep.
