The Yuhao Chronicles - Volume 1 Chapter 33
A few minutes later, after the two met up with Zhou Yi, they managed to run into Bei Bei and Tang Ya just as they were leaving their classroom.
Zhou Yi signalled the two third-year students over to a more secluded area.
As they arrived Tang Ya and Bei Bei respectfully bowed to Zhou Yi and acknowledged Wang Dong and Yuhao with a simple nod. With the basic greetings out of the way, Bei Bei said, “Teacher Zhou, how can we help you today.”
“It is more of how I can help you.” Zhou Yi replied. Seeing the obvious signs of confusion on their faces, she continued, “I have heard that you have been looking for some new members for your sect. With me here are two new freshman students that I am currently teaching. Even though we have only been in classes for one day, they have shown good knowledge and cultivating talent. Wang Dong currently is a rank twenty-five spirit master.”
Hearing this, Tang Ya’s interest rose considerably. For a freshman, anybody able to break through to rank twenty was seen as a genius, with those entering the mid-twenties viewed as exceptional geniuses. Bei Bei was one such exceptional genius and had continually emphasised his talent over his past five years at Shrek.
While Tang Ya was looking at Wang Dong, Bei Bei’s own gaze was focused on the person next to him, Huo Yuhao to be exact. Even with his current rank of thirty-eight, he was having trouble assessing what the spirit rank of this student was. He was sure that it was below him but not by much, and it continuously faded in and out, making it extremely hard to focus on.
What Bei Bei did not realise, and it would have been very hard to guess, was that this fluctuation was due to Yuhao’s Divine Essence cultivation technique. The technique’s passive cultivation element caused Yuhao’s energy to be far more restrained than a regular spirit master’s, unless they are actively withholding all of their energy inside their body.
Zhou Yi as she finished explaining a little of what she knew about Wang Dong to Tang Yi, similarly, introduced Huo Yuhao. “The second student that I have brought with me is Huo Yuhao. He is currently a rank thirty-three spirit master.”
This caused Tang Ya to simultaneously open her mouth and eyes wide in shock, but also hop from one foot to another in excitement. It was a very strange occurrence.
In her excitement, she sputtered out while grabbing his shoulders, “M-My goodness! Do you really want to join the Tang Sect?!”
“Yes” Yuhao murmured out, currently unsure of how to act in the situation. It just seemed too unrealistic in the way she was acting out her excitement.
Bei Bei feeling uncomfortable with the situation, cleared his throat audibly, snapping Tang Ya out of her overexcitement. She quickly flushed before attempting to reign in her emotions.
“I meanyes of course you do!” Tang Ya awkwardly said, attempting to sound professional. “While I very excited to have you join, I feel it is important you understand the Tang Sect’s current status.”
Yuhao and Wang Dong nodded patiently.
Tang Ya began speaking, a sad look overtaking over her face, “The Tang Sect doesn’t have it mansion or foundations anymore. It is as Teacher Zhou said, just Bei Bei and I. If you join the sect, our request is that you are a member of our sect for your entire life. If you decide to leave one day, you will have to return all of the Tang Sect’s secret techniques you know, one way or another.”
Yuhao dipped his head acceptingly, “I understand, Teacher Zhou has let me know some of the circ.u.mstances and I am still happy to join.”
“I am too,” Wang Dong stated.
“Great! Our Tang Sect only has four people as of now. As of now, Yuhao, Wang Dong, you are my second and third disciples. As such, Bei Bei will be your eldest senior brother.” As she spoke, she pointed towards Bei Bei who politely bowed in return. Both Wang Dong and Yuhao bowed towards him, paying their respects.
“You should refer to me as Teacher Tang Ya in the future. However, don’t learn to be as cheeky as Bei Bei, understand?”
“Yes Teacher,” Yuhao and Wang Dong reciprocated.
With a flick of her wrist, Tang Ya produced two small, compact books from somewhere. She then passed it her two new disciples. “Yuhao, Wang Dong, these are copies of our Tang Sect’s Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. Our Tang Sect’s secret techniques are recorded inside. Out of them, the Mysterious Heaven Technique is the foundation to all other techniques contained with. If you use it to meditate, it will definitely increase your cultivation speed.”
Yuhao was quite sceptical hearing this as his cultivation technique was created exclusively for him by a god, however, they would have no way of knowing that.
“Wang Dong, your cultivation is still not strong, so changing to the Mysterious Heaven Technique shouldn’t have any side effects. Yuhao, take extra care when you are cultivating following its instructions to ensure your stronger cultivation isn’t negatively affected,” Tang Ya emphasised seriously.
Seeing her strict notice was understood, she continued, “Besides the Mysterious Heaven Technique, there are also five more secret techniques. They are, respectively, Mysterious Jade Hands, which is for training one’s hands; Purple Demon Eyes, which is for training one’s eyes; Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon, which is a capturing technique; Ghost Shadow Perplexing Tracks, which is a speed and movement technique; and Hidden Weapon Hundred Separation. While this last technique is our most famous, you require a good foundation before you can cultivate in them, so begin with the cultivation technique and the other four skills.”
After receiving the booklet, Yuhao placed it into his storage bracer and Wang Dong stored his in his jacket pocket. Both new disciples bowed before thanking their sect leaders Bei Bei and Tang Ya, but also Zhou Yi for introducing them, before heading off back to their dormitory to get ready for the next class.
As they were walking back in silence, Yuhao’s fist was clenched in excitement and determination, ‘These techniques will be the start of my path of domination. I need to put as much time as I can into these techniques to improve my fighting ability. However, at the same time, I cannot ignore the time required to attend classes, cultivate to increase my spirit rank and perform blacksmithing jobs to earn money.’
As they neared the dormitory, Yuhao’s planning was still underway, ‘If I want to ensure that I can continue eating from the higher-tier lunch windows, I will have to take a few hours out of my day, for a couple of days each week to perform blacksmithing jobs. Even though I am not planning on actively using soul tools as a part of my combat strength, there is no harm in me contributing to their development. I know how important Yuhao was to the rapid acceleration in soul tool development, not to mention creating the first makeshift battle armour, that was a major aspect to the universe, even twenty thousand years in the future. With my knowledge of some of Earth’s more modern-day technology, I should be able to increase the development of the profession even further.’
