The Yuhao Chronicles - Volume 1 Chapter 45
With the matches for the day finished, Wang Dong and Yuhao went back to dorm room silently. Over the last three months, they had trained and cultivated rigorously, more so than any other students in their year, which has inadvertently separated themselves from the other students by a large margin. While they don’t regret doing so, the unsatisfied feeling is something that they both are acknowledging that they will have to get used to when facing their own generation.
After they arrived at their room, as they had done after every battle against each other or others, the discussed the outcome and each other’s actions during the battle. This is one of the key reasons as to why the duo is able to work smoothly and wordlessly in battle as they not only trust each other and their judgement but also have strategized how to overcome future scenarios. Since they only had one fight, like the day before, this process was done very quickly.
Leaning back on his bed, Wang Dong said, “Despite you knocking out the twins during their spirit fusion, their spirit fusion was quite cool!”
Yuhao nodded, sitting on his own bed with his back against the wall, “I guess? The concept of spirit fusions are awesome, not to mention with them being able to bring out an insane power in a short time period. Remember when we were taught on the Shrek ancestors and how The Golden Triangle was able to spirit fuse into the Golden Saint Dragon? Now that is cool, and they only had a 90% spirit harmonization rating.”
Wang Dong murmured, “I wish we had something like that” As he imagined them finally being in a close, gruelling battle, only to spirit fuse and dominate their opponents once again.
This conversation trigged Yuhao’s memory as he remembered that Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong did, in fact, have a spirit fusion of their own. It was even a 100% spirit harmonisation as well. He quickly chastised himself for forgetting about this major ability that they had before saying, “Well no one says we don’t?”
Wang Dong nodded his head thoughtlessly not really paying attention to the words as he was still daydreaming.
“Wang Dong?” Yuhao said, trying to rouse his roommate from his obvious trance.
“Huh?” Wang Dong said, shaking his head and dispersing the thoughts.
Yuhao smiled as he said, “We haven’t tried doing it before. Do you want to?”
Wang Dong just looked at him confused for a couple of seconds before he realised what his roommate was saying, “You think it would work?”
Shrugging his shoulders as he stood up off his bed, Yuhao said, “No harm in trying. Even though the possibility of it happening is extremely slim, with only a single spirit fusion appearing among the thousands of spirit masters, we do get along well together so that must count for something. In the time as roommates, while we haven’t felt a reaction matching what was described by our teachers as spirit harmonization, it is not like we have actively tried to achieve it.”
Wang Dong hearing this looked embarrassed as he seemed to struggle to say something. After a couple of seconds, he looked determined as he said, “The truth is, I’ve always been concealing my ability, as well as my aura, to some extent. All this time my aura hasn’t been extending outwards beyond my body due to another ability of mine restricting it.”
“Oh, so you mean your second spirit restricts it?” Yuhao shamelessly said, causing Wang Dong to freeze and go bug-eyed as he knew one of his secrets.
“Hey, don’t be too surprised. I also have a second spirit, alongside my good senses and us spending so long in close proximity, if I didn’t notice, it would be quite pitiful. You probably already know that my own spirit restricts my aura as yours does” Yuhao explained, even though he knew that the real reason their auras were restricted was due to their Three-Eyed Nemean Lion Emperor and Sea God bloodlines respectively.
Still shocked, but somewhat agreeing with Yuhao’s reasoning, decided to push past his worries in order to test out the possibility for a spirit fusion. “Yes, I have a second spirit. I don’t want to reveal it for now though so I hope you can keep it to yourself, just as I have for yours. But even despite knowing this, you will only be able to truly sense my aura with close bodily contact.”
Yuhao deciding to tease his roommate as he finds it so fun, dim-wittingly said, “Close bodily contact? How close do you want to get?”
Not really having thought the whole process through, Wang Dong slightly blushed as he said, “Isn’t it fine to just hug each other for a little while?”
Huo Yuhao chuckled as he wanted to push him more said, “Is that so! You should’ve just said so. Do you want me to undress? Then we can get even closer!”
“No!” Wang Dong practically screamed out, his face going even redder as he remembered the times secretly watching his roommate shirtless.
Huo Yuhao laughed and said, “Then come on.”
He walked the short distance between them and enveloped Wang Dong in his arms. The sudden hug caused Wang Dong to meekly yelp as he tensed up. However, after a couple of seconds, he spread his arms out around Yuhao and hugged him in return, not forgetting to take this time to slyly feel all of the muscles on Yuhao’s sturdy back and enjoy being enveloped in his natural scent. As he did so, the blush covering his face became the strongest it has ever been, which made Wang Dong hug Yuhao harder to avoid it being noticed.
Both roommates had blank minds for a couple of minutes as they stood there hugging before they realised what they were planning to do and controlled some of their spirit power to perceive each other’s concealed auras. As they felt each other’s auras, Yuhao, as expected, sensed Wang Dong’s aura change three times over the course of a nine-second time period. It alternated in sequence between the Bright Goddess Butterfly, the Clear Sky Hammer and the Sea God bloodline.
From Wang Dong’s perspective, he sensed Yuhao’s own aura alternate five times over a fifteen second time period. This shocked him as while he could work out what two of Yuhao’s aura phases were, being his Steel Space Dragon and FrostFire spirits, however, he had no clue on what the other three were. Even though Wang Dong knew of his own aura and that it had three aura phases, he was still unsure of what his third aura phase was seeing as it wasn’t a spirit.
This is because when Tang San, sent her to the Douluo Planet from the Divine Realm, he sealed his daughter’s memories and a little portion of her spirit essence in a young Three-Eyed Golden Lion which she was fated to meet at least once during her lifetime. While this action may be viewed foolishly by others, it was done for a good reason to ensure Wang Dong, or her real name being Tang Wutong, does not grow up to become arrogant and conceited knowing that she is of divine heritage. (A/N: This is the reason/situation I am using. It may be wrong as there seems to be a lot of confusion regarding what exactly happened, however, I am using this regardless as it makes the most sense to me. And yes, I know I used female terminology here however, I couldn’t say Tang San sent his son to the planet now, could I?)
As they slowly seeped into a trance, lights begin to rise up out of their body in tune with their aura phases. First, it was a dim, white stream that was soft and profound and even had a diverse feeling to it. When Wang Dong’s aura interweaved with this white aura, an indescribable sense of relief unexpectedly appeared. Huo Yuhao’s Spirit Eyes aura seemed to be virtuous and harmonized perfectly with Wang Dong’s own Bright Goddess Butterfly aura.
Following that, the aura on Yuhao’s body smoothly transformed into steely heat and chill which interweaved with the stable, profound dark-gold aura that Wang Dong was releasing. This combined aura between Yuhao’s FrostFire and Wang Dong’s Clear Sky Hammer spirits gave the sense of two lovers fighting back to back on a battlefield.
This interweaved aura dispersed, as Yuhao’s aura transitioned into one of extremely profound, dull grey. Wang Dong’s own aura began gradually changing into one of natural life, however before it could fully appear as it usually would, a sense of oppressive killing intent appeared from inside his body. This oppressive killing intent quickly overruled the natural life aura Wang Dong exuded and confronted the dull grey Yuhao was giving out.
If Yuhao was not in a trance currently, he would be shocked to sense this as it shared extremely similar qualities to the Asura God position that Tang San holds. Nonetheless, this Asura God bloodline aura interweaved seamlessly with Yuhao’s Necromancer pseudo-spirit aura, multiplying the aura of death and justice around the two roommates.
As this aura faded away, Wang Dong’s natural life aura rose up once again, only this time also carrying with it the ancient seas and oceans. In Yuhao’s case, he began exuding an aura of ancient fire and profound light. While these two auras interacted, being the Sea God bloodline and the Three-Eyed Nemean Lion Emperor bloodlines respectively, even though they didn’t merge perfectly, they were still able to assimilate with each other somewhat. It gave a sense of them working together hesitantly for a single cause.
Finally, as these auras disappeared, Yuhao’s aura changed his final spirit, being the Steel Space Dragon. It carried with it the steely properties of his FrostFire spirit, however, superimposed over that was a mysterious, distant, purple light. As Wang Dong’s aura moved to transition back to her Bright Goddess Butterfly, this purple aura pushed back and caused it to halt. This ‘halt’ sustained itself until the purple aura disappeared and was replaced by Yuhao’s Spirit Eyes spirit. This aura change continued the cycle and interweaved with Wang Dong’s aura.
