The Yuhao Chronicles - Volume 1 Chapter 46
After almost ten minutes of allowing her host’s body, aura and energies acclimatise to his roommates, Daydream spoke up, awakening Yuhao from his trance, “This is quite amazing! I can’t believe that you have managed to find someone who you are able to do a spirit fusion with!”
Yuhao internally nodded to her as he sighed, “Yeah, I actually knew about this. It just completely slipped my mind with everything else that is happening. What is our harmonisation level? While we do have three that match one another, the other two is what I worry about.”
“Hmm,” Daydream said as she used her spiritual power to check, “It is actually 80%! That is pretty good, better than 79% at least. Your Steel Space Dragon spirit is obviously hindering it as it has no equivalent aura to match with and your bloodline while not clashing, doesn’t perfectly suit with the ocean aura she gives off.”
“That is a shame, but it is not like I should expect everything to be perfect. It is another trump card we can use anyways,” Yuhao said. “Are you able to put me into the dominant position when we undergo the martial spirit fusion?”
Daydream shook her head, “I don’t even need to. With your cultivation being so much stronger than Wang Dong’s, you will naturally take that role in your fusions.”
As she said this, she, with the help of Amra kickstarted the martial spirit fusion. Strands of red and blue energy began wrapping around the two hugging roommates in a ball and depositing them on the nearest bed, which happened to be Wang Dong’s. Without their intervention in this process, it would usually take over three days to complete. However, with both of them helping, this fusion should be finished by morning.
As night turned to day, the red and blue ball slowly dissolved revealing the two students within. During the night, their auras had undergone many changes, with one such change being that their connection had completely stabilised, not only allowing them to enter into spirit fusions but also speeding up the rate at which they would take to enter such a fusion.
As the sun just peeked in the window, signifying that it was still one hour until morning classes, it shined directly on Wang Dong’s face. This slowly woke him up. As he opened his eyes and regained his senses, he realised that he was still tightly hugging Yuhao in his own bed. He was left stunned for a moment and blushing once again.
‘What do I do? Should I wake him up?’ Wang Dong thought. ‘It feels so nice and warm though…and we don’t have classes for one more hour..Let’s just pretend I never woke up.’ Finishing this shameless thought, Wang Dong happily lied back down and closed his eyes.
Not ten minutes later, Yuhao himself woke up. He quickly realised that he was lying on Wang Dong’s bed while embracing him. Sensing the time, and that they really should be getting ready by now, he gently shook Wang Dong ‘awake’ and left to get ready.
As he walked to the bathroom, Wang Dong subconsciously went to press his face into the sheets, to feel Yuhao’s leftover warmth before quickly jumping out of bed realising what he was going to do. Slapping his cheeks lightly to wake up and attempt to get rid of the blush, which failed, he took the time that Yuhao was out of the room to quickly change.
Five minutes later with both of them ready, they quickly ran off to the dining hall to get some food before quickly heading off to their morning class. With the normal freshman assessment already over, the academy resumed normal classes for the day while the proctors prepared the brackets for the next series of battles.
After a minute they arrived at class one, just before the class’s start and quickly seated themselves, luckily just before Zhou Yi walked in. She gave them a strange look as she did so, seeing as they were almost late which was very unusual for them, before getting right into the lesson.
After walking over to the teaching podium, Zhou Yi indifferently said, “After three days, the freshmen assessment has finally ended. The final results were tallied last night.”
After hearing her words, the students of Class 1 were filled with energy; not every group was as absolutely confident they had passed the assessment like Huo Yuhao’s group.
A smile that nobody dared to compliment unexpectedly appeared on Zhou Yi’s face for the second time today. “I have no choice but to admit that you’ve worked very hard. You’ve given me face. Out of our eighteen teams from class one, all of you have passed the freshmen assessment. I’m very happy about this.”
All the students simultaneously let out the breath they were holding before cheering in excitement. Zhou Yi smiled as she let the kids in front of her enjoy the moment.
Over the course of the assessment, it was universally agreed that the students from class one were much more resilient than the students from the other classes. They had not only all displayed a frightening amount of willpower and combat strength, but they had practically won all the matches that involved opponents who were evenly matched with them.
Ever since she had become a teacher at Shrek Academy, this was the first time Zhou Yi had received public praise. Originally, the students in Class 1 had been the fewest in number among the ten classes. But after the round-robin tournament, with over half of the students who had participated in the assessment being eliminated, their class numbers were actually average compared to the other nine classes.
“Okay, quiet down.” After letting the class cheer for a long time, Zhou Yi motioned for them to quiet down.
She continued, “The only way for you to guarantee that you’ll stay in the academy is to pass the assessment. At the very least, you won’t be easily eliminated for another year. However, it’s only one more year. If you become lazy in the future, I’m afraid that I won’t be able to continue seeing you after your second year here. Furthermore, it’s not such a big deal to be able to pass the freshmen assessment. Out of the eighteen teams here, thirteen teams haven’t finished their freshman assessment yet, because you’ve entered the top 64. You’ll still have to go through the knock-out competition, which is where you can truly prove how outstanding you are.”
Zhou Yi continued speaking. “During the round-robin tournament, a total of six teams managed to win every single match they participated in. Our class only has one such team. As a reward, and to encourage everyone else to strive for similar successes in the future, the academy has given each team three Spirit Ascension Pills, one for each person. In our classes case, since an individual can only have one spirit ascension pill in their lifetime and considering one of the students is already over level thirty and will therefore, receive little to no benefit from consuming one, we have been given one Spirit Ascension and two Mystic Water pills. Come up here and receive them, Huo Yuhao.”
Yuhao nodded excitedly and walked over to the podium. Zhou Yi placed the one reddish-orange pill and the two light blue pills in Yuhao’s hands before beckoning him back to his seat. When he got back he handed the Spirit Ascension pill and one Mystic Water pill directly to Wang Dong, storing his Mystic Water pill in his storage bracer for later.
His roommate went to return the second Mystic Water pill as Yuhao could theoretically still get some use out of it, however Yuhao pushed it back to him stating, “I already have one. The effects diminish significantly for each one you take and with my existing talents and cultivation rank, even the single one will not benefit me all to greatly. Keep it for yourself.”
Wang Dong smiled kindly in appreciation before storing both pills in his own storage ring.
Sensing this exchange, Zhou Yi smiled before focusing on the class. “Ok, I will now explain some of the information regarding the knockout tournament. It starts tomorrow so it is vital that you listen.”
