There Are Always Teachers Who Want To Ask Out Parents - Chapter 12
Once she opened the door, Lu Zhiqiao stood outside with a tired expression and messy hair.
“Ms. Qi—” She let go of the suitcase handle in her hand, grabbed Qi Yan’s wrist, her bloodshot eyes showed worry, “How is Niu Niu?”
It was the first time that she was in such a mess. Qi Yan was so surprised that she came back to her senses after a while, held her hand instead, and said in a warm voice: “Her fever has subsided and she is still sleeping. Go in and have a look.” Pointing to her room.
Lu Zhiqiao’s hands were cold, and her whole body was covered with the smell of wind and frost. She didn’t care about being polite at all, changed her shoes, and rushed into the big bedroom eagerly. A gust of cool wind poured into the room following her movements, Qi Yan shivered, and took the suitcase inside.
The room was a little dark because the curtains hadn’t been opened yet. The girl lay on her side and curled up under the quilt with her eyes closed and breathing evenly. She didn’t seem to be disturbed by the outside world and slept soundly.
Lu Zhiqiao gently sat on the side of the bed, reaching her hand out to touch her daughter’s face, when she remembered that her hand was too cold, she drew back, put it on her neck and covered it, and only caressed the child’s tender face and forehead, when it was warmed up.
Confirming that the high fever subsided, she let out a long sigh and the heart hanging in her throat was finally put back into her chest.
Qi Yan leaned against the door, staring silently, she saw her put her hand on her neck and covered it for a while before touching the child, saw her slender eyelashes trembling weakly in the dim light, saw the corners of her mouth lift little by little, The thin lips parted slightly to exhale, but she couldn’t see the emotion in her eyes.
She walked over lightly, squatted beside Lu Zhiqiao, but her eyes fell on the girl’s face, and she whispered: “The temperature has dropped these days, and many children in the class have caught colds. Lu Wei may have been infected. I ran into her yesterday afternoon. Coming back from piano lessons…”
She briefly talked about the general situation, ignoring her inner conflict at that time.
“I’m not qualified to judge anyone, but your daughter is so young, it’s really inappropriate for you to leave her alone at home.” Qi Yan’s voice was very soft, but it was a tone of complaint.
Lu Zhiqiao listened quietly, frowning, her eyes were full of guilt and self-blame, she took a deep breath, and said in a low voice, “I’m sorry…” Apologizing to Qi Yan, and also to the child for causing trouble. For neglecting to take care of her.
Lu Wei in her sleep moved, coughed twice, a whisper came out of her throat, and then slowly opened her eyes.
“Mom…”
Her thoughts were interrupted by this hoarse and weak voice. Lu Zhiqiao raised her eyes to look at her daughter, her eyes softened instantly, and she was overjoyed: “Niu Niu… Mom is back…” She leaned over and kissed her daughter on the forehead. Her voice trembled a little,”Are you still uncomfortable?”
The girl drooped her eyelids, shook her head, coughed intermittently, took her two little hands out of the quilt, stretched them towards her, and muttered, “Mom, hold me.” A sick child is fragile
As a mother, Lu Zhiqiao couldn’t stand such a coquettish behavior, her heart was so soft that she hurriedly went up to her and hugged her into her arms, and then pulled the quilt to cover her tightly.
“Cough cough…cough…” Lu Wei wanted to speak but kept coughing. After a while, her face flushed and she hugged her mother’s neck tightly.
Lu Zhiqiao blamed herself more and more, patted her daughter’s back lightly, and put her cheek against her forehead, “I’m sorry, baby, it’s mom’s fault…”
Qi Yan, who was completely ignored, got up silently, walked out, closed the door, and gave the Mother and daughter space and time.
Going to bed late and waking up early, Qi Yan stood in front of the mirror and washed her face with cold water and brushed her teeth, only then did she drive away her drowsiness. In southern cities, there is no heating in autumn and winter. The temperature outside is more than 10 degrees, and the temperature in the house is also more than 10 degrees. Although her brain is sober, her hands are red with cold.
Originally, she wanted to change two classes with other teachers today and stay at home to take care of the Lu Wei but now that Lu Zhiqiao is back, she doesn’t have to.
Coming out of the bathroom, Qi Yan glanced at the closed door, then looked at the background wall of the TV in the living room, and breathed a sigh of relief—bringing Niuniu back last night, when the child was drowsy and didn’t pay attention, she hurriedly took the nude photo then took it into the study room, to avoid embarrassment.
It’s okay to tease Lu Zhiqiao, but Niuniu is still young, she isn’t that shameless.
This is the time to make breakfast. Qi Yan is usually alone at home and only cooks what she eats. This time, she cooked porridge for three people, three eggs, and fried a plate of toast.
Not long after, she put the prepared breakfast on the table, turned around, and saw Lu Zhiqiao leaning against the corner outside the door, with her back facing the direction of the dining table, with her head slightly lowered and her shoulders trembling.
Qi Yan took two steps forward, and heard a very soft sobbing sound, and then saw the woman raise her hand, as if covering her mouth, as a low sob came out of her throat.
Her heart trembled, and she didn’t dare to get closer, and just froze in place quietly.
Looking from the back, Lu Zhiqiao is very thin, with a slender body and a small frame, but her back is always straight, she looks tough and confident, and her aura is quite strong.
The first time she saw her in a bar, she was cold and aloof and out of place with the people around her. Later, when the they met again, her calm, polite and thoughtful appearance captured her mind. Hidden with fiery enthusiasm, it was only at this moment that she realized that this woman can also show fragility.
Last night, she complained that the mother didn’t care about her child, but today she wonders how much burden she was carrying on her weak shoulders.
Qi Yan’s thoughts were confused, and her heart felt like being bitten by densely packed insects, spreading subtle sourness and bitterness.
Standing for a while, Lu Zhiqiao leaned her back against the wall, closed her eyes, raised her head and took a deep breath, then slowly turned around, and unexpectedly bumped into the stiff Qi Yan, her expression was slightly stagnant, and her eyes were filled with panic.
Her eyes were red, tears shining on them, her glamorous and delicate face was covered with tear stains, and a tear mole became more and more obvious which made her look pitiful, but also very embarrassing. Qi Yan’s heart suddenly twitched, and she brought two tissues and walked up to her, hesitated for a moment, and wiped away those tears for her.
“…”
Lu Zhiqiao snapped out of it, raised her hand to press the tissue, turned her back and wiped it twice indiscriminately.
“The doctor said to take good medicine and rest, and she’ll be okay in one to two weeks.” Qi Yan comforted her softly, put one hand on her shoulder, and patted her lightly.
Lu Zhiqiao took a deep breath, another layer of mist covered her eyes, and said softly, “Thank you this time…”
She did not dare to look at Qi Yan, her eyelids kept blinking, forcing back her tears from shedding.
Qi Yan stared at her face with a gentle expression, and then carefully hugged her from the side: “If you go on a business trip in the future, you can tell Niuniu to come to me.”
