There is Something Wrong with This Game - 4C010 – Mana Clone and Accident
[Solstreus Magic Academy: 1F – Library]
And so, nearly 2 hours passed.
During this time, Hecate had read many books regarding Glyphs, Runes, and their respective Subclasses, Artificer and Runemaster. Leaving the library, she summarized what she had learned from some of the books she had read in her mind.
Of course she couldn’t read the contents of the books directly since they were written in Neberl language, but the summarized introduction from the game system was enough for her to understand.
Basically, Glyphs and Runes are the same thing.
In other words, both of them are the language used by Native ancestors to describe all things in the beginning of ancient times of Ascension World. By depicting different types of symbols and injecting them with mana, one can gain powerful power.
‘Runes are from Elves, and Glyphs are from Dragons.’
The only difference was the method and language used, because both come from different civilizations.
♦♦♦
From Introductory of Runemaster, Runes comes from the ancient Elven civilization. Runemasters use the Rune language to consolidate the forces of nature into objects called Rune Stones.
The stones can be used in a variety of ways, such as catalysts for spells or enchant them into tools or equipment. For the former, Rune Stones can only be used to cast Elven spells, which is unfortunately cannot be cast by other race.
And from The Way of Artificers, Glyphs come from an ancient Dragonic race, which was the ancestor of the Draconids, where they directly carve Glyph symbols into their bodies in the form of tattoos. They are able to exert powerful force, technique, or spells by injecting their mana into their tattoos.
It’s just that, this method has a fatal drawback, namely the tattoo slowly draws mana from the user continuously even when not in use. And internal mana is a finite resource, similar to the body’s cell proliferation limit. If too much mana was taken from one’s body, it would affect their lifespan.
The Dragonic Race back then was fine because of their abundant MP, but if another race that had insufficient MP used this method, they would definitely become strong, but at the expense of their lifespan.
At one point, the first Artificers of the Human race used this method to carve Glyph symbols into equipment in the form of equipment skills, not directly onto their bodies. This way, users can use Glyphs only when they need them, and prevent the unneeded loss of mana.

Naturally other than those information, Hecate also obtained the skill methods related to Artificer and Runemaster. Although, they were all still in the current form of skill methods and had to be practiced first to make them her skills.
She looked at the system notification log once more.

Those skills that were originally owned by the other two Subclasses, but thanks to Mysticallurgy, Hecate was able to learn those skills without any problems.
Although, they were still in the form of skill methods and have to be practiced several times first before turning them into skills. In addition, there are still unmet requirements such as insufficient stats or prerequisite skills that have not been learned. But at the very least, the possibility of learning those skills had been changed from impossible to possible.
One of the skill methods was Engrave Glyph, which Hecate had tried to reproduce in her Capstan Table by imitating Glyphs on some finished product with her deduction. She thought that she did a good job before, but now that she found the complete method, she felt that her work was very ugly.
‘Ahh… There was this thing about using monster blood as ink. I didn’t think about it before.’
Now she understood why there had been no further notification of learning the skill at that time. It turned out that her efforts went the wrong way.
Of course, that wasn’t the end.

Avid Reader Proficiency +1 (3/1000) |
The passive skill Avid Reader was a bit bland for Hecate because her reading speed was already fast.
This skill was acquired right after the number of books she had read reached 100 books. The next level of this skill required her to read another 997 books, but that was no longer important to her.
She had collected a total of 101 blueprints consisting of various things, such as equipment, artifacts, and even includes siege weapons belonged to Gemmerio Empire.
‘Leon-sama’s favorability points will definitely increase with these souvenirs.’
The things in those blueprints were more advanced than what was in the Rosenheim Kingdom. If these things were produced in Brynhildr Fort, it would definitely strengthen the guild more than before.
And her biggest gain for this time is of course, the manufacturing method of Damascus Steel!
This steel is famous for its characteristic pattern, very tough but at the same time lightweight and has somewhat superplasticity properties, according to the tempering step.
‘Kukuku, looks like I have another reason to increase the prices of my items again.’
Of course, Damascus by no means was the best steel according to the current era standards. It was called the best in its time because the process of making other metals at that time was inferior. There are so many steels out there that are superior to Damascus, such as AISI 6150H and AEB-L. But still, the visual appearance of Damascus itself is worth a lot of money.
While thinking all of this, Hecate reached the Academy’s Workshop Area.
♠♠♠
[Solstreus Magic Academy: Workshop Area Lobby]
The Workshop area seemed bustling with people who were mostly students of this Academy.
Once again, Hecate who wasn’t wearing a uniform looked very suspicious and caught their attention. She ignored those curious eyes and directly showed the badge on her chest to the female staff who looked like the receptionist in this place.
“I want to borrow a Blacksmith’s room.”
“Understood, please come this way, esteemed guest.”
From the receptionist’s polite demeanor, it seemed that the status of the Silver badge holder in this Academy was not low.
She looked around and found that the students nearby mostly wore Bronze badges, while Silver badges were rather rare. As for the Gold badges and above, it seems that they are not here.
Hecate followed the receptionist into one of the rooms in the west corridor from the lobby.
“This is the room. Please take your time.”
“Thank you.”
It was a room with complete blacksmithing tools that was more sophisticated than the one she had in her home in the Rosenheim Kingdom. There was also a Save-Crystal in the corner of the room.
And of course like the library, the room was free for her to use.
‘Let’s finish the order first. Glyphs and Runes can wait one more day.’
Without further ado, Hecate touched the Save-Crystal to took out from her storage the ores she had obtained from the Orc Village and some other materials such as 20 bags full of sand, then activated a certain skill.
“Auto Production, Blueprint: Glass Aquarium Model C.”
It was a Blacksmith skill that allows the user to give control of their body to the system assist to craft items.
During skill activation, the user can see their body move automatically to make items according to the blueprint to completion. This skill will be interrupted when there are problems during the process, such as insufficient materials, wrong steps, or manual interference by the user themselves.
The skill was a very useful skill for Blacksmiths to have, as they didn’t have to think and let their own bodies do the work, especially for repetitive work that could drain their sanity. With this skill, at most they only lost some STA while they themselves can daydream and maintain their sanity throughout the process.
But what Hecate did was more than that.
‘Wait, looks like I have a good idea.’
It was just a sudden inspiration. Since she has the Mana Solidification skill that can create temporary objects, can she create a body from mana and give control the said body to the system assist?
And so…

Precision Mana Control Proficiency +150 (1405/8500) |
The result was a complete surprise.
She did not expect that her sudden inspiration led her to create a new skill. Players are given the right to name the skills they created. And every Player-created skills was mostly unique to that Player, unless the method to acquire it was known.
“Ahaha! Did it work?!”
Hecate couldn’t help but let a laugh.
In front of her stood another Hecate, with the same face and wearing the same equipment, except that this Hecate was transparent like it was made of water. It was a body she had just created with the skill Mana Solidification, but now it was moving on its own to craft items in Hecate’s place.
However, not everything went according to Hecate’s expectations.
Hecate clone expressionlessly took all of the bags full of sand from the table and poured its contents into the Furnace to make glass. Then, a few minutes later, it imitated Hecate’s mana metalcasting method as if it was Hecate herself to mold the glass.
Naturally, that metalcasting method had some flaw that it used a lot of mana to keep the mold solid. And coincidentally, the clone’s body was made entirely with mana. The result was very predictable, the clone lost its shape and then so does the mold.
And then, the molten glass that lost its container could not help but obey gravity and splashed onto the floor.
SPLAAASSHH!!
“Weh!?”
Hecate who was nearby couldn’t help but almost get splashed by the molten glass.
Thanks to her quick response, she was able to avoid taking damage by unconsciously jumping backwards from the spot. Not only that, she also activated the hotkey with her mind to switch her equipment to the Ignis set.
Even if the Safety Area protected her from lethal damage, but getting splashed by melted glass with 100% pain would definitely not be a good experience.
But, while she was able to safely avoid the damage, the room was in total disaster.
The molten glass that was splashed had a temperature of 2000°C, and many items in the room that came into contact with it were damaged. One of the tables crashed because one of its legs melted. The items on the table were strewn across the floor and some of it fell into a puddle of molten glass, shattering as its durability reached zero.
‘Damm, I miscalculated! What should I do with this disaster…?’
Hecate who saw the catastrophe in front of her couldn’t help but facepalmed. It was still less than half a day since she joined this Academy, but she had already made this mess.
A moment later, Hecate stabilized her mind and made a decision.
‘Fortunately, my Repair skill is Lv8! Let’s do some emergency repairs and pretend nothing happened.’
The day was still long.
