This Crayfish Is Not Edible - Chapter 106
Meanwhile, outside the cave, Princess Felia and Raijin’s situation was becoming grave.
The maid closely watched them through the night and day. Without sleep, her eyes started drifting on its own.
“Hmmm,” Felia whimpered in her sleep. This woke the maid up.
She gazed at her and held her now cold hands.
“Princess?” she whispered. The princess had become quite blue, and midnight blue veins started to pop up. They looked even worse, a shade of midnight blue, almost black.
The maid held back her tears and checked the princess’s temperature again.
Her body was abnormally hot.
“I have to cool them down,” she whispered and ran over to the waterfall.
She collected some fresh water and wiped down her neck and face. She placed a wet towel on her forehead in hopes that it would bring down her temperature.
Even this did not help. Her temperature rose so high that there was visible steam coming off of her body.
“Oh, princess, what should I do? I hope young master Xia gets here soon,” she cried, holding her hands in her embrace.
Compared to her, the puppy’s situation seemed much better. His body looked blue but there were no visible vein like Felia’s.
The maid slowly removed the fur dress from the pup’s body and wiped him down as well she knew that if this puppy was hurt, Felia would be heartbroken for a long time.
She dipped the towel in the basin and made it soaking wet. She placed it on the pup’s forehead. ‘I dint know if this will help. But ii hope this pup survives as well,’ she mentally prayed.
She saw a small flash coming from him.
The maid walked close to the pup and gazed at him with rapt attention. Unlike Felia his body was not hot, but it looked like few flashed of thunder was passing through his limbs.
“What is this?” she whispered and touched its paw. A slight thunder passed through her body, making her immobile for a second.
“Ahh,” she screamed and let go. “What is this? Why are they both reacting so badly? I hope the poison does not leave any lasting damage to their body,” she whispered.
The maid silently tucked them both in and sat guard beside them. The next morning came, and she still had a sleepless night.
Though the night Felia body started to react differently, unlike in the morning her body turned ice cold. Her body was stiff.
The maid cried and moved them both closer to the fireplace.
The heat from the fire could not heat her up. Throughout the night, the maid sobbed and cried. Until she was out of energy. She rolled herself in a small ball and fell asleep.
It had already been a day and half since young master Xia had left to find the herb.
But she still had hope. She knew young master Xia was a genuine gentle man and he would definitely work hard to find the herb for them.
“I hope they come back soon,” she whispered, gazing at the princess.
Both Felia and the puppy had been unconscious for almost two days now. And they had not eaten anything during that period.
The maid made a simple porridge with the rice and condiments she had in hand. It was light so that patients can eat it without a problem.
She ladled it in a small bowl and brought it over to Felia. She placed the bowl on the floor and lifted the princess onto her lap. Slowly, she fed the lukewarm porridge to her. At first, Felia was not swallowing properly, but later she learned the tactics to feed.
The maid opened the princess mouth and stuffed a small mouth full of porridge she slowly tilted her head up with a hand on her neck. This is to check if she was swallowing properly. Otherwise, Felia might end up chocking.
She fed the pup next. It was much easier too. Only after a bowl, the pup’s tummy looked bulging and warm.
“I have to keep their tummy warm so that they digest it properly,” she whispered with a small smile.
A towel soaked in hot water was placed on their tummies.
“Now, let me eat,” the maid sighed. It had been weirdly quiet without the princesses wild chatter.
She held her ice cold hand and rubbed it. “I hope you get well soon, your highness. Didn’t you want to find true love? Didn’t you want a family and kids? For all that you have to live today don’t give up no matter what.”
After breakfast she took a small nap. But a small moan woke her up. She gazed at the princess and gasped.
Felia’s completion had turned grey now. And the puppy looked purple. The maid panicked.
“Oh god, what now? What should I do? The three-day deadline is will end tonight. What if we can’t save her on time?” she cried, hugging her close to her bosom.
A small rustle was heard nearby.
“Young master?” the maid cried at the general direction.
The nearby branched rustled even more. And more than two footsteps were heard.
‘It doesn’t look like two people,’ she thought vigilantly.
She pulled out a sword from her ring and stood guard in front of Princess.
Seconds later, a small dagger flew towards her. She slashed it and threw a needle the same way. A small grunt was heard.
‘I hit something,’ she thought as she stood in attack position. Her sleeved were pulled up to reveal her inner sleeve full of needles.
She was not a simple maid. She was a guard maid specially trained by Prince just to protect Princess Felia.
Another dagger flew her way. She side stepped and dodged it.
A small laughter was heard from the bush. “Looks like we have a spicy kitten,” a short man walked out. His features refined, but his outstretched eyes revealed his true intentions.
He wanted to hurt them.
The maid shot another needle to his jugular. The little man dodged and shot a dagger in her way. The maid dodged it but still ended up cutting her forearm.
“hahah this is so fun,” the little man shouted.
“Enough, stand down,” a prominent voice came from behind him.
The maid held her sword higher, waiting for their hidden enemy to reveal himself.
A tall man walked out. He was dressed in white and golden. His sleeves were made up of fine silk and jewels encrusted in it. His cape’s huge hood hid his face, but the maid could see the lower half of his face.
“Is it here?” the tall man said and gazed back.
“Yes… yes your highness it’s here.” An old voice said. An aging man, about seventy years old, walked out from behind him. He held a small golden compass in his hands.
Its huge hand pointed their way without any movement.
“I sense it from them,” the old man said.
The taller man pulled his hood down to reveal a stunningly handsome man. His skin was golden brown with grey curls that covered the top of his head. His grey eyes looked colder then a steel knife. His outstretched eyes brows looked majestic and his clear skin glowed under the afternoon sun.
‘This guy.. He is definitely royalty,’ the maid thought as she gazed at him.
The golden and white robe was the royal colour of the western golden tribe. They are more spiritual in nature. And their king is considered their god.
The maid had heard the news that the golden tribe was also searching for the fallen dragon, but didn’t think much about it.
But now being face to face with his momentum made her sweat.
The tall man’s spiritual energy oozed out of him in waves, rushing and attacking her. The maid felt her energy fall short to this maniacal energy.
Her legs started to tremble and shudder. Soon she felt her whole body freeze from the pressure. “ugh,” she moaned as he tried moving her finger.
“its useless girl. Highnesses power has always been able to make his prey disabled and frozen,” the short man laughed manically.
The tall man glared at him and the short man shut up immediately.
“Go check,” the tall man, the maid assumed is a prince said.
The old man dawdled over to them with his compass. As soon as it reached them the compass shone brighter gold and the arrow kept jumping.
“It’s marvellous.. they have the spiritual power of the dragon running through their veins,” the old man exclaimed.
The prince walked over to them and gazed at them with curiosity.
The maid struggled to look back. Her muscled strained from her struggle. The prince peered at her and snapped his finger.
The maid could move her head again. She turned back and glared at them. “Stay away from my lady. If you do something to her I will kill you all,” she shouted through her gritted teeth.
The maid was quite intelligent. She intentionally hid the princess identity. The golden tribe had become quite ambitious and wanted to attack other kingdoms. So she was vigilant.
The prince gazed back at her and said, “What is your name?”
“My name is Jinjue. My master and I were travelling to the Suikal village when we were attacked by a snake,” the maid said as she started tearing up.
Jinjue was her real name. But it was never revealed to anyone. Somehow she uttered it without any restraint. ‘This man…. his energy is making me speak the truth!’
The tall prince nodded and whispered, “So….Where is the dragon? Give it to me,”
