This Crayfish Is Not Edible - Chapter 245
Two dragons, red and golden, jumped into the deep dark ocean.
Their huge bodies sunk into the turbulent ocean. Aotian growled letting out huge bubbled towards his brother, gesturing to the left.
Long ki nodded and started searching to the right. His huge red body shimmered underwater and tail sloshed the water around, swimming faster than ever before. He dove into the dark depths slowly, sensing the surroundings with his whiskers.
He could not smell or sense anything. ‘My nostrils are closed, how can I smell my child or even sense him… we might have to draw another enchantment in this case,’ Cursing inside, he slowly swam up to the surface. He growled and howled loudly, vibrating the water surrounding him. ‘Xiao Tian, you search deep to the right, the ship travelled quite a distance from the pace he fell, search first I will join you in a while,’
Aotian who was swimming up heard this. He flapped his nostrils and whined. ‘Soon, this water is fasted with dangerous beast,’ Huge bubbles arose, echoing his whine out of water. Even though they both were dragon, the disparity in power was huge. As a golden dragon, he was freely able to control his nose flap and sense underwater. He swiftly slithered underwater. A huge beast suddenly swam fast towards him.
Without any hesitation, he shot a small ball of golden flames at it. The shark withered violently before it was burned to a crisp. ‘good, my flames work underwater,’ His heavenly flames could not be extinguished even by water so it was quietly convenient.
He swiftly swam towards the depths. It was eerily dark inside. Unknowingly his phase slowed down the pressure underwater was pressing on his scales. ‘It’s slowing me down…..’ he slowly swishing his huge tail and dove under. Darkness enveloped him completely, not leaving a trace of his presence behind.
Long ki easily jumped on the ship while transforming. He glanced at his unconscious wifey and cussed loudly again. “Bring me a paper and ink,” he shouted.
Raijin swiftly dashed under and brought him a writing set. “Master… enchantment would not work underwater,” he whispered.
“It might if I add enough layers of shield over it,” while saying so his hands moved swiftly, drawing enchantment after another. The entire paper was filled with signs and marking that there was no white visible anymore. He turned the paper over and started scribbling again. “How is she?” he whispered urgently.
“she….. she has ingested a lot of water…”
“how is that possible? She is a water creature.” He shouted and slammed his thighs.
“Master….she might be a fresh water beast. She can’t survive in salty water,” Raijin explained patiently. He helped his master turn paper and even ground ink for him.
Long Ki nodded. He swiftly folded the paper into a small plane and stood up. His sight intently went over to his unconscious wifey. “T—take good care of her. I’ll be back. Stay in the same path, don’t wait for us. We will join you after we find little red,” he said quickly.
Without any delay, he jumped down. His body slowly transformed into a huge red dragon. His nostril flaps closed automatically, holding in fresh air. With his huge claws, he carefully held a blue paper plane.
‘I hope this works…’ he thought and activated it. The twenty layer of shield was clearly protecting the paper as it slowly floated down. It slowly reached the dark deaths and stopped.
‘Why did it stop? Is red close!!’ he swiftly swam close and looked around. Nothing was seen. From his space he picked up an illuminating pearl and held it in his mouth. The soft pearl shone brightly, but the dark ocean did not light up.
‘What the hell is this?’ he let out his tongue and tasted it. The water was actually sweet. ‘This is not sea water, but fresh water….’ he swam in unhesitatingly.
He too disappeared into the dark.
Aotian slowly swam in; he was completely enveloped in darkness. Even his keen was eyes were not of use. ‘How can we find the fish egg in this condition?’ he frowned deeply. He hastened and swam down.
As he went deeper, the water pressure increased exponentially. Aotian gritted his teeth and swam down further. At a point, even his scales went rigid from the pressure. ‘Darn, that fish egg is in trouble…if it fell down this deep he might have become a frozen food for other creatures,’
Suddenly he felt something swim past him. It was swift and nimble as it disappeared from his sight.
‘What was that? It definitely was not a shark,’ sharks were not that fast. This creature disappeared again to his side and a sharp pain originated near his fins.
“GRRRR,” Long Aotian growled loudly and turned to the side. The creature had disappeared again. ‘Shit, what was that?’ even without being able to see he knew that he was bleeding badly.
Aotian paused. He stood in a coiled up positing waiting for it to appear again. His body tense with his head raised, he senses the surroundings. The predator was waiting in the dark and he was helpless, sightless in front of it.
Anything that was able to wound a dragon should be a dangerous predator.
Long Aotian slowly licked his wound and waited.
The thing came back again. It swiftly swam past him and dashed away.
‘Darn it, if you are so courageous show yourself,’ he growled loudly. The thing swam past him again like a little streak of black it disappeared into the darkness.
Long Aotian’s eyes went stern. ‘I’m losing oxygen, I have to deal with this creature or get past it quickly….’ he swam forward like a snake and snapped his jaws.
Some amount of water got in, but he did not bother. The black thing swam past him again, this time it slashed through his dorsal fin.
Aotian groaned loudly and rolled over. He shot a small ball of fire at it but the creature swam swiftly above him, dodging the attack.
He continuously kept throwing balls of fire at it. The dark space was still dark and looming.
The cat-and-mouse chase was getting exhausting. Aotian was losing blood and oxygen fast. ‘Let’s go up and try coming down again,’ he swam up, but the creature dashed past hi snout confidently.
{‘YOU DARE STOP ME!!’} His deep growl echoed inside the darkness.
Suddenly the creature stopped right in front of him. Only a vague small figure could be seen. {‘It is you who dares to infiltrate our territory,’} the creature whistled. Its voice sharp and crisp that it hurt the dragon’s ear drums.
{‘Whatever you are, I didn’t infiltrate on purpose. I’m searching for an egg, have you seen it,’} Aotian growled back urgently.
{‘I have no business with you dragon, get out or my sceptre will cut your throat next,’} the creature trilled loudly.
Aotian froze, the blood loss was making I’m woozy.. {‘please….please, that’s my dear brother’s child. Please tell me if you have seen him,’} he begged softly.
{‘It was my fault that the little egg feel into the water, I—I should have taken good care of him as an uncle… but I was too busy brooding over my missing mate.. please, any information would help. Anything…’} he wheezed out.
The creature in front of him paused. Suddenly from the right another whistle was heard.
‘There is two of them?!’ Long Aotian glanced vigilantly to the side as well. He was not able to understand what this new creature was saying, but the dark creature in front of him whistled loudly. Its tone soft and chirpy.
‘It sounds….. Happy…. what did that other creature say?’ Aotian wondered as he peered directly at it. {‘please, did your friend tell you anything about the egg?’}
Suddenly the creature whistled and trilled loudly. It did not mean anything, but it made the water shake violently.
‘It’s definitely pissed off,’ Aotian backed off slightly. In pitch black environment he is in a disadvantage. Even if he attacked, he was not able to even touch that creature. {‘Look, I will leave, but please help me find my niece. I beg of you, please. Not as a dragon, but a fellow beast, please. Don’t you have a family member as well? won’t you feel the same if you lose them?’} he softly grunted and swam closer.
The creature went back a little.
{‘Please….’}
The creature went still. It swam closer to him too…..
Right then, a huge explosion was heard nearby. The water pressure became so turbulent underwater that he got pushed to the side violently.
A soft whistle was heard, and it dissipated along with the force of the attack.
{‘YOU BASTARD DARGON, THIS MEANS WAR!!!!’} The creature shouted and charged at him.
Aotian swam swiftly. His huge body became heavier and the water pressure was pulling him down, but he swam as fast as he can. The creature swam around him, cutting him wherever it could reach. {‘I come in peace!!’} He growled to it.
{‘DRAGON’S NEVER COME IN PEACE.. I WILL HAVE YOUR HIDE TODAY,’} it whistled out loud and slashed at his tail.
