This Crayfish Is Not Edible - Chapter 262
“Don’t trust anyone,” these words rang inside Xia’s brain as they were travelling through space. The darkness and the negative pressure bought a weird fear inside his heart. He gently placed a hand on his bulging tummy and moved closer to his mum.
Sensing his uneasiness, Yukiya softly caressed his back. “Everything will be okay. Mommy is here this time. I will take care of everything.” she leaned close and whispered with a smile.
Only then did Xia’s pounding heart calm down. He side hugged his mum and nuzzled against her. “I missed you mum.. I missed you so much.”
“I know, baby. I missed you too.” Yukiya gently kissed his forehead. The little egg in her arms jumped up and also slightly brushed against his head.
Xia chuckled and hugged the egg lovingly. “You are quite spirited, aren’t you? Are you exited to go to heaven?”
The egg rolled around, making weird squealing noises.
“Baby, say ‘I’m excited’,” Xia gently tickled the smooth membrane of the egg.
His little sibling did not reply, rather, the egg just nuzzled against him and squeaked even more.
“Why isn’t he talking much now a day?” Xia worriedly looked at his mother.
Yukiya frowned as well and took the egg from him. “Don’t know. He was doing well just a few days ago but from today he has been making weird noises. It almost sounds like he is moaning in pain.” She said worriedly, looked at her younger child.
Yin Long glanced back with a small smile. “Mer eggs are known to imitate the sounds they hear around them,” she chuckled, throwing a mysterious glanced at Xia’s way.
Only then did Xia realize what she was trying to say. He hid his face with his sleeve and groaned loudly. “Sorry mother, I think it’s my fault.”
“What’s your fault?” Yukiya curiously glanced at her blushing son. “Did you make any weird ….. I get it now. My silly mate must have lost track of this child and he might have listened to your ‘activities’ unintentionally.” she pulled the egg close. “Baby, say mommy, or at least say brother or granny.. please don’t moan like that kid. It’s not appropriate.”
The egg curiously rolled around, and then it groaned again whilst jumping around.
“Oh god, this is so embarrassing,” Xia moved closer to his mother and hugged her.
Yukiya gently smacked his head. “You should have controlled yourself a bit. Goodness, I wonder how long this child is going to keep moaning and groaning.”
As if by cue, the little egg jumped into Xia’s embrace and squealed loudly.
“Most likely never,” Xia whispered in mortification.
In order to hide his embracement he glanced at the dark space all around them. This made him think of the new place that they are going to stay in until Long Aotian returns. His grip on his mother unconsciously tightened. “Will we be okay?” he glanced up with his eyes slightly tearing up.
Yukiya smiled reassuringly. “We shall be.”
Soon the small circular path that they were flying about became bright, and the dark space around them became brighter than the sun.
Xia swiftly closed his eyes and shielded the egg with his sleeve.
He could feel his mother’s heart rate spiking and her breathing quicken. “Xia…. You have to see this,”
Xia blinked open one eye but the light was too bright it almost blinded him. He swiftly closed it and started wiping the teaser away. Soon he could feel the bright light receding. He hesitantly opened his eyes again to see a spectacular scene.
A huge crystal palace stood in the distance surrounded by a beautiful bright green tree. All the trees were so tall that the top of them were hid in the sky. Right in front of them there was a golden crystal fountain in which beautiful children were playing around cheerfully.
“Younglings,” Yin Long smirked at them.
“Your highness!!” the kids ran to her and hugged her knees. “Did you bring us back any snacks?” one little boy mumbled shyly.
“Of course, how could I forget, the queen took out a small bag full of cookies and sweets. The kid happily took them from her and ran away. She then glanced at the two, who were looking around with their eyes wide open. “It’s your first time looking at it from far right Yukiya?”
“yes…” Yukiya whispered softly. She stepped on the soft fur like grass and entered this realm.
Xia in the other hand, happily ran in and sat near the waterfall. “Oh my god, mum this is a spirit spring!!” he cheerfully splashed the water around. The little egg also joined with him and played around in the water.
“Last time was my fault that you had an unpleasant experience here. But this time, I hope your stay would be pleasant.” Yin Long gently patted Yukiya’s shoulders. “Because this is going to be our home from now on.”
“home…” Yukiya mumbled to herself to get that thought in her head. All of this seemed too surreal. The last time she was here she did not bother looking around because she was more focused on running away from her doomed marriage.
But who knew?
“Who knew I would come back as a crown princess here again,” she smiled nostalgically.
Yin long gently hugged her. “This was your mother’s home, and this is your home, too. Sorry… sorry for keeping you away for so long, my dear,” she whispered in anguish.
Yukiya chuckled and hugged her back as well. “You know, you are not as bad as you seem.”
Yin long glanced down and gently pinched her nose. “Oh trust me; I am a very bad person,”
Suddenly they both were splashed with cool, refreshing water.
“Oops,” Xia Che smirked naughtily. “Did I disturb you, old ladies?”
“That sounds like a challenge, young man. Let’s see if this old lady could beat you,” Yin long cheerfully ran over and started playing with them in the water.
The whole garden was filled with laughter and glee.
A dark figure watched all this with a deep frown. “Which one?” she mumbled, biting into her fingernails. Her mouth was filled with the taste of blood, yet she refused to let go of her fingers. “Tell me which one?”
“That young man,” a trembling maid pointed to Xia.
“That fatty. Fuck…. Let’s go,” the lady elegantly walked away.
