This Crayfish Is Not Edible - Chapter 263
Soaking wet, all three and a half of them entered the palace. The guards all bowed deep refusing to even meet their eyes. Xia, who was naturally friendly, did not understand why. He leaned closer and whispered to his mother.
“It’s because we are royalty now. They can’t look directly at us,” Yukiya explained the basics of palace etiquettes. “I’ll teach you some basic palace etiquettes when we reach our room.”
Xia timidly nodded.
Right then yin long pulled Xia closer and hugged him softly. “Don’t worry too much. They are just paying respect. As for palace etiquettes, you don’t have to follow it. It’s because even I don’t implement up the thousands of rules,”
“Really? That cool.” Xia gave her a thumbs up.
Yin long did not understand this gestured yet she laughed aloud. “It’s because my husband is partial to me. He is just the best,” she boasted loudly.
“Yeah, Long is the best, too. He is my darling, too,” Xia chimed with her in glee.
Watching them get along well, Yukiya’s nervousness went away slightly. All along the way she feared her son might make a mistake or get into trouble and get punished, but with the amount of love Xia was showed upon by Yin long she knew that he won’t be disciplined for anything he would do.
Yukiya glanced at the empress, who was walking right in front of her. Her straightened shoulders looked more reliable than before.
‘The empress can protect us,’ a confident thought rose in her mind.
Smirking, she joined with them dawdling through the fantasy like a garden.
Xia and the little egg curiously explored everything they saw. “What is this?” he pointed to a small red crystalline plant. The entire garden was filled up with it, making it look like a red crystal paradise.
“That is a blood sprit jade root. It can help cure any kind of ailment. But sadly, since our cultivation is too high, it won’t be effective on us,” Yin long whispered with a small smile.
“oh…” Xia gently tapped the herb and took his sibling in his arms.
But the little egg had other ideas. It jumped out of his embrace and rolled around in the pointy roots gleefully.
Xia cheerfully ran after his little sibling.
“Both of you don’t go too far,” Yukiya worriedly shouted behind them.
Xia just waved and ran around happily.
Yin long chuckled and held Yukiya’s hand gently. “Don’t fret. They both are safe here. No one dares to hurt them in this garden,”
“But you said that no one can be trusted,” Yukiya silently whispered.
The empress’s expression fell for a second. “There are forces her that are trying to hurt the imperial bloodline, but they are in another palace. This place is my own ‘cloud wind palace’ no one can enter without permission,” the queen confidently said to her.
Meanwhile, Xia cheerfully ran after the jubilant little egg. It rolled away from the beautiful crystalline garden into a moon gate. “Wait baby, come back,” Xia wordily glanced back. His mother and his mother-in-law were visible, so he rushed in following after the naughty little egg.
The egg was surprisingly fast.
‘or am I slow,’ Xia glanced at his bulging touch with a sigh. ‘I think It’s me who’s slow,’
“Baby, slow down, let brother catch up,” he shouted and dashed into a garden that was filled with white roses. The egg suddenly rolled right next to a bush and disappeared from sight. “Shot where did he go!!”
Panting, Xia ran to the right as well. The little egg had rolled over to a small pagoda in-between a huge crystalline shimmering lake. ‘Gosh where is this kid going?!’ he tiredly followed after him.
He ran over the small wooden bridge that connected the pagoda. His footsteps thudded loudly due to his increased weight. ‘Where is that kid now?’ he slowed down and moved forward.
In the distance he could see a white figure in the pagoda. It was a young girl. She had his sibling in her hand, with a confused look on her face. Xia hesitantly approached her.
The young lady turned over and glanced at him aloofly. “Who are you? Barging in so rudely. Guards, get him out of here,”
“No, no, wait, that egg is mine. He is just naughty and ran over here. I was following him,” Xia urgently shouted, seeing the approaching guards.
The young girl frowned and walked closer to him. Her beautiful wavy red hair cascaded down to her feet and her jade like green eyes peered at her with interest. “You say this is an egg?”
“Yes, this is my sibling. We don’t know his gender yet,” Xia cheerfully whispered to her.
The girl curiously looked at the jumping ball in her hand. “Then I shall keep it. Guards, send this man to the dungeons.”
Xia’s smile went away. “Wait, that is my sibling. You can’t just take him.” He ran after her, but the guards roughly pulled him in the other direction. Without any hesitation, Xia smashed their noses and ran after this girl. “Listen to me, he is delicate you can’t have him,”
The girl’s expression went frosty. “Watch me. Useless Guards whip this unruly man thirty times for talking so indiscriminately to a princess,”
“What the hell?!” Xia fought tooth and nail and got closer to her again. Thankfully, there were only two guards he was easily able to defeat them with his golden glove.
“W—what is that? Why do you have this? Quick, give out to this princess,” the girl haughtily demanded his glove.
Xia just deeply frowned. “It’s mine you can’t just ask for it. Please return the egg I shall leave you alone,”
The girl glanced at the egg and at the glove. “Egg for that glove. How about it?”
“No, how about I beat the shit out of you and take my sibling back? My patience is limited, and I don’t wish to harm a woman but if you keep acting this way, I might have to fight with you.”
The young girl scoffed loudly, but suddenly her eyes focused on something behind him and her lips bloomed into a beautiful smirk. “Father.” She ran past Xia to an old man with long white hair. “This man is bullying me. See that in his hand. It’s mine,”
“liar!! That egg is my sibling!”
The old man, without a word, attacked him.
