This Time You Are Mine - Chapter 322 You're Not a Good Leader
“Good morning! Sylvan, there’s no need to pick me up this morning. I’m planning to let Vince drive me to work.” Yve sends a message to Sylvan the moment she wakes up.
Once she sends the text message she lies down longer on bed beside Vince who’s still sleeping. Since it’s still early to get ready for work she can use this time to get more sleep. She pushes herself deeper in Vince’s body enjoying her husband’s warmth.
It is around 6AM that Yve wakes up from a kiss on her forehead.
“Yve, you better wake up now or else you will be late for work. ” Vince kisses him on the nose this time.
“Hmm…. Let me sleep for a longer period of time.” Yve utters as she turns to the opposite side of the bed.
“Well, you can actually do that but Sylvan might arrive any moment and you’re still not ready. You don’t like people waiting for you, do you?”
“Don’t worry he won’t come this morning. I texted him that you’re going to drop me off to work today.” Yve smiles at him with her eyes closed.
“I see. Then you can get some more sleep then. I’ll wake you up once breakfast is ready.” Vince kisses her forehead once more before leaving the room to prepare their meals.
When Yve’s morning is so relaxing, the same thing can’t be said of Jenny’s. Her nanny wakes her up because of a phone call from one of her classmates.
“Miss Jenny, wake up please.”
“I’ll be there in a little bit, nanny. What is it?”
“Please open the door I have a message to tell you.” As the former requests, Jenny opens the door and lets her in.
The nanny relays the message to Jenny.
“Your classmate called and requests me to remind you of your meeting with them for your projects. She is on her way to the café as we speak.”
“I got it. Thank you very much, Nanny! Can you please prepare me a breakfast to go?”
“Of course, my dear. Are you going to drive or should I ask a driver to drop you to the café?” Her nanny asks her for further instructions.
“I’ll have a driver this time but he’s to drop me off at the café and leave the car keys to me.” Jenny instructs.
“I understand, my dear. Please allow me to leave then.” The nanny bows at Jenny and turns around to do the tasks she’s requested on.
Jenny rushes around to finish preparing for a very long day ahead of her.
By the time that Jenny is on the way to the café, Yve has just just finished preparing for work and walks to their dining table.
“What’s your schedule this morning?”
“Well just meetings. Why?”
“Do you know when will Mom’s office fully reconstructed?”
“I haven’t checked on the progress of it. Mom told me after the bidding that she would handle the construction so I let her be. Do you want me to give her a call and ask.
“No. I thought you were still handling it so I was hoping to remove it from your back.”
“Oh, I see. Thanks.”
“Now hurry up or else we will be late for both our work.”
After finishing a very delicious dinner, Vince drives Yve for work before driving himself to his office.
In the office, Yve does the routinely meeting with the project team and asks on the progress. The meeting ends very quickly as everything are going according to schedule. Shortly after, Sylvan knocks on her office door to inform him that some of the invitations are ready and can be given to the people in the VIP list.
“Go ahead and send them, Sylvan but make sure they will keep their mouths shut just until we announce it first.” Yve instructs her.
“I understand.”
Meanwhile, Jenny is under a dispute with her group mates. She chose a different group this time and wishes to obtain a better output than before but she’s still dismayed.
“Do you any better ideas? We have been here all morning and nothing’s good enough.” Jenny breaks it up to them.
“Then can you give us a sample?”
“If I do have an idea then I wouldn’t be here with you to listen to your lame ideas.” Jenny lashes out at them in frustration. But her classmates are also getting angry with her.
“Lame? Don’t you think you’re being too harsh on your comment?!”
“We need to wake you up for this meeting and then you’re showing up late.”
“Worst of all, you haven’t said a single idea or anything to contribute.”
“Exactly! When your previous group mates said that you’re not a good leader, we didn’t believe them. But now….”
“OH PLEASE!! You wanted to be a part of my group because of the result my hard work has given to their grades and you wanted to experience the same thing.” Jenny rubs the cruel truth to them.
“That’s not really true.”
“Then make me believe it! Think harder and show me that all of you here are far better than them. So maybe then we can a mutual understanding and continue this for the rest of our future projects.” Jenny abruptly stands up.
“Hey, Jenny! You know what? You’re the worst leader I’ve ever worked with. You may be smart but you’ll never be able to outdo Yve.” The same classmate who called her nanny earlier shows some spunk in front of everyone else in the café.
“Since you hate me so much, what do you say about leaving the group once and for all?” Jenny challenges the latter to the best of her wits. Her classmate crumples her hands into fists and sighs in relief to calm down.
“I don’t have any other option but to cooperate. But these will the first and last time. I will submit some ideas tonight.” The lady gets her things before walking out with a heavy heart.
The rest of the team follows leaving Jenny in the café earning looks from the other customers inside. Jenny sits back and orders a lunch meal instead. She opens her laptop and tries to research on some possible counter reference for their projects. She just continues to ignore on the stares she has been receiving.
‘After all that’s happened, she’s just there calm and collected.’
‘Once you’re rich you can afford to do so.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘She’s the only sister of the rival of Mr. Vincent Gray, Steve. Her name is Jenny.’
People continue to talk about her as quiet as possible.
