This Time You Are Mine - Chapter 343 He Saved Me 1
“Primo, I… know of their plan.” The young lady executive musters her courage to speak in front of the rest.
Vince looks at the lady and remembers the time he and the Team Alpha and Bravo rescued her.
—–FLASHBACK—-
Vince was out on the field to survey the new territory they had just conquered after defeating the evil mafia gang of the area. Team Alpha was doing the rounds with him while Team Bravo surveys the potential businesses they can propose to improve its economy.
“When will we have the final count of the residents, Secondo?” Vince asked his cousin, who’s also the second in command.
“Tomorrow morning will be the latest. Team Bravo is on it as we speak.” Edward casually replies as the two of them turns right on the last corner of the territory.
“This is their dumping site.”
“I can see that. But this is too near the residents. Instruct some of the men to clean this up and call one of the members of Team Alpha to look for a suitable dumping site.”
“Yes, Primo.”
The two were about to turn around when they suddenly heard some movements from the dump site. These sudden sounds alerted the two of them and they immediately pulled out their guns and pointed it at the section of the dumpsite where they heard the noise. Vince walked slowly towads the sound with Edward covering for him a few steps away.
When Vince pulled out some garbage plastics, she saw a girl at the age of 13 crying as quiet as she can. The girl was wearing worn out short sleeved shirt and short with tears and cuts everywhere. Vince offered his hand to allow the girl to stand but the she wouldn’t accept it.
“I just escaped from bad people who wanted to sell me out. You had guns and dressed the same way as them.” The girl confessed to him with her tears falling from her eyes and her body shivering from the coldness and fear.
“I see. So how did you escape from them?” Vince stepped back and stood up with his hands inside his pocket.
“If you’re going to bring me back, I’d rather not tell you so I can do it again with a little modification.” The girl tried to sound fiercer this time but in front of Vince’s and Edward’s eyes she looked like a puppy wagging its tail between its legs.
To the girl’s disbelief, Vince and Edward started to laugh.
“I’m sorry. I just find you smart and cute.” Vince coughed in between as he stopped laughing to form a smile on his face.
“Don’t worry. We have defeated those bad guys.” Edward put his gun back and walked towards them.
“Are you the government?” She curiously asked.
“No, but we’d like to help you if you’d like. How about some clothes and warm food for a start? You must be starving.” Vince made a very tempting offer to the girl who seemed to agree then disagree seconds later.
“How about it’s just you and me? He will not follow us around and I’ll bring you places with a lot of people?” Vince made another offer in favor of the girl.
The girl pondered on the pros and cons of the deal and realized everything was in her favor. The man had nothing to gain from it.
“So what’s it in for you if I agree?”
‘She wanted to make sure of my intention. Pretty clever! She’s the street smart opposite of Eybelle.’ Vince thought as he smiled at her.
“I’ll be relieved of my conscience? You don’t have to tell me anything. We found you here and I don’t want to leave you hungry and a mess. Just a some clothes and meal then I’m out.”
“Okay. But that man won’t come with us.”
“Roger that. Please call me Vince.” Vince offered a handshake which shocked both Edward and the girl.
“PRIMO!! You can’t let her call you casually!” Edward was firm on this matter as his safety and the people close to him might be compromised.
The girl accepted Vince’s hand and asked, “If Vince is your real name, then why did he just call you Primo.”
“Well, that’s a secret but I can share it if you’ll give your name. Give and take.” Vince smiles as Edward whispered that his car had arrived.
“No thanks, then.” The girl rejected the idea.
“Okay. We should go now. My car is waiting up ahead.” Vince informed her.
“It’s just the two of us, right?”
“Yes, as I’ll drive for the two of us. Don’t worry. I do keep my promises.” Vince assured her as he walked away from the site with the girl anxiously tailing behind him.
Once they’d reached the car, Jaleb got off and let his Boss get inside. Informed of the current situation from Edward, he opened the door for the poor girl with a smile. The girl murmured a very soft “Thank you” paired with a thrifty smile before getting in.
‘So you can actually smile like that.’ Vince saw her short yet genuinely smile from the car’s mirror.
Once the door was closed, Vince accelerated the car to the city borderline. The girl seemed to notice this and asked,
“Where are you taking me?”
“The city isn’t in any condition for business at the moment because of the fight we caused against the previous mafia group. I’m taking you to the next city.” Vince calmly answered but didn’t expect the next thing that happened.
The passenger door at the back suddenly opened and the girl jumped and rolled out of the car. Vince instantly stepped on the break and looked at the girl through the mirror, amusement and concern were evident in his face. He smoothly maneuvered the car to catch up with the girl who was running back to the city.
‘This was one of the things you did to escape from the mafia group.’ Vince had an idea on the series of events that happened that day she escaped from them and stopped the car in front of her.
“What do you think you’re doing jumping out of the car like that?!”
