- Chapter 12 ? 10th Rose: Operation: Make Them Join The Outside School
A SATISFIED SMILE FLAUNTED ON JIN HEE’S FACE after she bought the supplies her Mama Shin asked her to buy as well as the book that she’s been dying to buy for. It was only one copy left and fortunately, she was able to buy it.
She was humming a happy melody while carrying the box of supplies she bought as she walked towards the parking lot. Suddenly, someone bumped to her, causing her to fall on the ground.
“What thehey! Can you watch where you’re going?!” she yelled. She checked the box first for the possible damages, which fortunately, didn’t have before glaring at the person who bumped her.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it I was in a hurry class pres” the guy’s voice fell on the last word he’s saying. It sounded like a whisper but it’s already enough for Jin Hee to know who’s the person in front of her albeit his face is totally covered with black ball cap, black shades and black facemask.
“Tae Yang?” she called.
Before the latter could utter a word, they heard loud voices from the distant.
“Tae Yang-oppa!!! Let’s take a picture!!!”
“Please let me have your sign, oppa!!!”
She could see some females, mostly students, running towards their direction. Some of them were wearing headbands with Tae Yang’s name and face on it. Some of them even brought a camera and a banner.
“I’m sorry for the trouble, class pres but we need to hide!” the latter abruptly pulled Jin Hee up her feet and pulled her towards a black SUV and hid behind it.
“Where did he go?” they could still hear the girls from the distance.
“Who are they? Why are they chasing you like madmen?” Jin Hee couldn’t help but ask.
She already saw girls following Tae Yang in their school but not as much as these girls who were following them right now.
“Our band’s fangirls,” he answered while panting.
“Your band” She looked at him in shock. “You’re a K-pop Idol?!”
Holy mother of kimchi, I have a classmate who is a K-pop Idol!
Tae Yang turned his head to her. “You you didn’t know?”
“I know that you have a band, but I didn’t expect you’re a member of a K-pop boy group,” she half-shouted, half-whispered.
“Ouch, I’m hurt. Our class pres didn’t know she has a handsome classmate who is K-pop star,” she could imagine Tae Yang pouting behind his black facemask.
“Cut the drama, Min Tae Yang and let’s face your dilemma right now.”
“Right,” Tae Yang muttered. She could feel in his voice that he’s so tired.
“Why did you came here, in a freaking public place, without your manager?” she queried. Even if she’s not really fond of K-pop groups, she’s aware that these fellas couldn’t go to these kind of places without their managers. Basic knowledge about celebrities.
“I just want to buy something here alone and without drawing attention but I failed because I was chased by a bunch of fangirls, including those sasaeng fans who love to shove their cameras on my face,” he answered, frustrated. (*sasaeng fanprivate or privacy fan. They’re the type of fans that invades a certain celebrity’s private life to the point that they’re becoming an obsessive stalkers and they also have this habit of stealing things from the celebrity, stealing and selling the celebrity’s private information and pictures, threatening the celebrity and others. They’re doing this either because of obsession, love, hate, money that they’ll get from other fans and others.)
“Well, you can really draw an attention with that getup,” Jin Hee deadpanned.
Tae Yang gaped. He was about to bicker but he heard someone’s voice.
“I know he didn’t go far. He might be hiding behind these cars. Let’s check!”
“Fuck,” Tae Yang couldn’t help but curse.
“Wow, seems like they’ll not gonna stop until they find you. They’re piece of work,” she commented.
“Shit, what should I do?!”
Jin Hee roamed her eyes around until she spotted a janitor just gone out from a stock room, just few meters away from where they’re hiding. She slapped Tae Yang’s arm, making the lad flinch in surprise and a little bit of pain.
“Let’s hide there.”
Before Tae Yang could react, she was hastily pulled by Jin Hee towards the said stock room in a cat-like footsteps and entered. She didn’t bother to open the light and just closed the said room’s door.
“He’s not here. Where did he go?”
“Just search for him here and stop asking!”
Jin Hee closed her eyes tight when she heard the girls’ voices just outside the stock room. She could feel her heart beating fast and Tae Yang’s panting. It also seemed like she regretted suggesting to hide themselves inside this stock room because she didn’t expect that this room is too crowded and small for them that they need to hug each other just to fit themselves.
What the heck.
She unconsciously gripped on Tae Yang’s shirt when she heard the girls’ voices.
“He’s not really here!”
“I know he’s didn’t gone too far. Let’s search for him outside!”
They heard the girls fading footsteps, seemed like they already left. Jin Hee and Tae Yang sighed in relief.
“They’re gone. Finally.”
“Yes, finally.”
Jin Hee couldn’t help but gasp when she felt Tae Yang’s nose and facemask bumped on her nose. She even felt Tae Yang’s breath fanning on her face even though his mouth is covered with facemask.
Good thing she didn’t turn the lights on or else Tae Yang would see her flushed face.
“Uh, Tae Yang-ah”
“Yes?”
“You can” she cleared her throat. “You can let go of me now. They’re gone.”
As if he touched something hot, Tae Yang abruptly let go of Jin Hee. “Oh, uh, sorry Jin Hee-ssi.”
“Umm, yeah, it’s okay.”
Awkward.
It’s just a matter of few seconds when the stock room’s door suddenly opened, causing Jin Hee to gasp in utter surprise and for Tae Yang to shriek an unmanly shriek.
“Good thing you opened your fucking GPS, you idiotoh, class pres, you’re here too? What are you guys doing in a parking lot’s stock room?”
They sighed in so much relief.
“Eun Jae-yah!”

“I hope this will be a lesson for you, Min Tae Yang and I hope you will not gonna do this in the future. Fuck, you’re stressing me out. You’re not the only group that I’m managing, you idiot,” Eun Jae let go an exasperated sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I’ve been doing this for years and I’ve never been chased like that. Today was just my unlucky day,” Tae Yang pouted.
“Yeah, right. Unlucky day, my ass,” the former rolled his eyes. “Good thing class pres is here. If she didn’t save you like that, I’ll definitely see you getting ripped by your fangirls just to have a piece of you.”
“Yeah, good thing I bumped to her,” Tae Yang looked at Jin Hee who is standing outside their van. “Thank you so much for saving me earlier, class pres. I owe you my life.”
“And I’m sorry if this punk caused trouble to you, class pres,” Eun Jae butted in.
Jin Hee blinked. Thank you. An elite just said thank you to me and they also apologized.
I felt so happy.
“Oh no, it’s nothing. I couldn’t let you get in trouble with those crazy fangirls of yours. I’m just doing the right thing,” she smiled.
“Anyway class pres, where are you going after this? You’re going home? We can give you a lift,” Eun Jae asked.
“Oh, thank you for the offer but it’s no need. I’m actually going to the rest” Jin Hee caught herself on time and changed her sentence. “I mean, I’m going somewhere and I have a ride. And you said Tae Yang has a photoshoot today, right? So, you guys should get going.”
Shoot. I almost forgot I’m in nouveau riche mode right now.
“Oh, that can’t be help then. We better get going,” Eun Jae smiled at her. “Take care, class pres.”
Jin Hee nodded and smiled at her. “You too, take care.”
Tae Yang smiled and waved at her too before closing their van’s window. She waved too and followed the van with her gaze.
She pondered the conversation earlier. They’re not really as bad as I think they are. They actually talk and act like normal people
it’s just that, something or someone is restraining them.

If she has a power to teleport, Jin Hee wouldn’t need to walk in the hallway to reach her classroom.
Weomae abeoji, why is gossiping is such a trend these days?!
She silently looked at the people around her who’re now starting to whisper and buzz like busy bees. When she met their gaze, she averted her gaze in front.
Never ever make an eye contact with them, Jin Hee if you don’t want to remember what happened and add your embarrassment!
It’s already three days since what happened, and people hadn’t move on from that incident.
Of all the places, why did that idiot walked in this hallway carrying me while people are watching us?! Weomae abeoji. She sulked. I badly want to transfer to another school! If it’s not because of the scholarship, I definitely transferred myself to another school the day after I transferred here.
.
.
When she reached their classroom, she didn’t enter right away. Instead, she popped her head between the doors, peeking and observing her classmates. She roamed her eyes to everyone until her eyes settled on Min Seok who just met her gaze, making her gasp.
“Eo? Jin Hee-ssi! What are you doing there. You should come in now,” he’s smiling brightly at her while waving his right hand, encouraging her to come in.
She couldn’t help but stare at him dreamily. Haah~ he is so bright even though it’s morning. His smile is brighter than the sun. I wonder how God gave them such good looks.
The memory of last Friday’s incident suddenly flashed in her mind and she couldn’t help but sulk. I can’t still forget what happened that day! Min Seok saw me in that situation! It’s so embarrassing!
She held her head because of too much frustration. Haah~ why I always got into trouble when I kept on meeting that crazy alien
“Move. You’re in the way,” Jin Hee’s eyes widen when she heard that familiar voice. She turned her head towards him. And there, she met Baek Hyeon’s poker face and cold, sharp gaze.
“Waah!” she abruptly backed away as she hugged her backpack like it’s already her instinct to do so. “Whatareyoudoinghere?!”
Baek Hyeon frowned at her. “What?”
She dumbly pointed him while hugging her bag tightly. “A-Ah, wha-what are you doing here?!”
“Stupid. Of course I’m here because this is my classroom and I happen to be your classmate in case you forgot,” he said in nonchalance. He suddenly held her both shoulders and turned her to face the door and pushed her inside.
“Aw!” she hissed as she glared at Baek Hyeon who doesn’t care about her existence anymore. She slightly massaged her shoulder as she walked towards her seat.
Her yes settled on Eui Chul who was looking at her innocently. “Jin Hee-ssi, are you okay?”
I wonder why he’s talking so formal towards me. It’s not like we’re not on the same age. “Umm, yes. Hehehe.”
Eui Chul grinned at her, satisfied with her answer. He, then, continued writing while Dae Woong is talking to him. Ryeo Wook was sitting and sleeping behind them. She could see his bruises which made her frown. She want to ask where he get those bruises but didn’t have the guts to do so.
She suddenly heard a click and a flash so she turned her eyes to the person in front of Eui Chul and Dae Woong and she saw the panicky Kang Woo Shin who didn’t know where to put the camera he’s holding. She looked at Jeong Suk who was busy talking to three girls beside him but still managed to send her a wink, making her mentally roll her eyes.
Tsk. Womanizer.
Behind him is Joo Hyuk who’s now pulling a prank to his victim, Eun Jae. Suk Hwan and Ha Neul were both standing outside their classroom talking to someone which, she bet, is an officer of their school council. Her eyes roamed around and settled on the person behind Eun Jae. She remembered that guythe guy with a white-dyed hair who talked to her so rudely on her first day in Empire Academyright, it’s Nam Soo Pyo.
“Mind giving me some penny of your thoughts?” she turned her attention to Ah Young who’s now sitting beside her. “I bet they’re so many.”
Jin Hee chuckled as she shook her head. “It’s nothing.”
“How are you feeling right now? Are you okay now? You didn’t experience some sort of trauma, do you?” she asked.
“I’m okay, Ah Young-ah. It’s notbing. I’m already fine, no need to worry.”
I really thought I was going to die back there! She sulked mentally.
“Next time, you should not go to the swimming gym without a company, okay?” Ah Young reminded her.
She smiled and nodded in return. “Okay.”
.
.
After few minutes, their teacher arrived and they went back to their proper seats and kept every unnecessary things on their tables. Even if they’re elites who can do what they want, they’re still trained here to be discipline.
As part of the class routine, Jin Hee stood up to great their teacher. “Please pay respect.”
“Good morning, Gong-seonsaengnim.” (*seonsaengnim teacher)
“Good morning,” the teacher, Mr. Gong, greeted them back. He get his whiteboard marker and started to scribble a big OUTSIDE SCHOOL on the board. “We’ll talk about the Outside School that we will be having this year. And we, your teachers, decided that it will be next month so I hope you’ll prepare for our Outside School in Jeju Island.”
“Alright! Outside School!” their classmates yelled excitedly.
“I thought it will be overseas again. But anyway, it’s fun there!”
“Outside School? What is it?” Jin Hee asked to Ah Young.
“It’s like a Field Trip. Other term for camping outside the school. Last year, we had it in Italy for a week. Good thing, they decided that we’ll have this year’s Outside School here in Korea. Gosh, I’m so sick of planes.”
Jin Hee protruded her lips. Damn rich kids and their privileges.
“You will know your group in our Outside School during our assembly time. We will dismiss you early for we are having our faculty meeting. Just come back at 1PM,” said Mr. Gong. “Class dismiss.”
Everyon was so happy as they went outside their classroom. Some of them just stayed either talking to someone over the phone or with their companion or just doing stuff. Some of them changed their uniform’s coats to corporal suits and held their suitcases while talking to someone over their earpiece.
Seems like they’re having their business meetings. Jin Hee thought. It’s not really unusual here. They’re the heirs, successors of their family’s businesses so at the young age, the must train their selves on this.
It’s tiring, I bet.
“Let’s lunch together, Jin Hee-yah! My treat~!” Ah Young grinned at her as she clung her arm on Jin Hee’s.
“Oh, no. Don’t bother, Ah Young-ah. I have my own lunch box,” she whispered at Ah Young. Obviously, trying to conceal their not so rich conversation.
“No, I insist. And I don’t want you to eat all by yourself. I don’t want you get into trouble again,” she couldn’t help but smile on Ah Young’s concern towards her.
Now, she’s starting to think twice about the laws of the elite the way Ah Young shows herself to her.
“Arasseo, arasseo. If you really insist,” she giggled. They sashayed their way towards the door when their teacher stopped them.
“Ah, Song Jin Hee?” their teacher called.
They both turned towards their homeroom teacher. “Yes, *saem?” (*saem, shorten for seonsangnim which means teacher. You can also use sabeonim.)
“Please follow me to the faculty office. I have something to tell you,” said Mr. Gong then he walked ahead from them.
Jin Hee looked at Ah Young who’s now holding her shoulder. “You follow seonsaengnim first. I’ll wait for you in the dining hall, okay?”
She nodded and smiled at her then she followed their homeroom teacher.

When they reached the faculty office, Mr. Gong settled himself on his swivel chair and stared directly at Jin Hee. “I heard you’re the appointed class president of Class 12-1?”
“Yes, sir,” she suddenly felt ansty because of the tone their teacher used.
He nodded, convinced. “Good,” he opened his table’s drawer and get some paper. “You see, this is your last year here, in this school and we want you to enjoy the Outside School together. And I have a task for you since you’re the appointed class president of the class which, they chose willingly by the way.”
Jin Hee couldn’t help but frown. What is he up to? “Ummm, what is it, sir?”
Mr. Gong sighed and he held a piece of paper towards her. It looked like a list. “These students they didn’t attend the Outside School since 7th Gradewell, except for that one student there which is a transferee, by the wayand we want, this time, that they have to participate on this event whether they like it or not.”
She read the list quietly and she couldn’t help but felt surprise. Most of them are our male classmates and most of them are the ones in the Royal 20.

“And as the class president of Class 12-1, your mission, is to persuade and convince that eighteen students to join the Outside School.”
“Oh, is that so? It’s not a big prob” Jin Hee’s eyrs suddenly widen when she processed the ask their teacher is giving her. “WHAT?! CONVINCE THEM?!”
Mr. Gong nodded. “Yes. You have to convince them to join the Outside School by hook or by crook. You have two weeks to accomplish it before the day of the Outside School.”
for visiting.
“Seo-Seonsaengnim, I-I think the-the task thar you’re giving me is impossible,” she laughed awkwardly.
“That’s not possible,” Mr. Gong stood up and patted her shoulder. “There’s a reason why they chose you as their class president. I think it’s time for you to do something for them. They chose you as their class president, might as well you’ll do your part and function as one.

“Why me? It’s really impossible for me to convince tbose folks to join the Outside School,” Jin Hee couldn’t help but sigh. She was really occupied the whole day because of what Mr. Gong told her to do.
She kept on moving on her bed when sleep is not visiting her yet. She get the list on the side table just beside the lampshade and read it. She sighed. “It seems impossible for me to bring them to the Outside School.”
And Min Seok, the love of my life is also included in the list! Ugh, bad Mi Seok. She pouted as she caressed the list where Min Seok’s name was written.
Hink honk!
She suddenly heard Cheonsa, her pet goose honked out of the blue. She turned her head towards the goose who’s sitting beside the window.
Jin Hee slightly moved closer towards Cheonsa and caress its white feathers. “Do you think, I can convince them?”
Hink honk!
She smiled. “Really? You really trust me on this?”
Hink honk!
She chuckled and give the goose a peck on its head and looked at the list again. “They chose me as their class president. It means, they trust me even if they still don’t fully know me. And if they really have the reason why they chose me, I think it’s time for me to do something for them”
‘and that is to let them join and enjoy our last Outside School as high school students before we graduateaway from their business world, from being inheritors, away from their responsibilities as an elite and away from that laws of the elite.’
