Through Hellfire - Chapter 7 The World Isnt Fair Kid
The youth with the scar struggled to his feet, and a pill appeared in his arm, which he ate immediately.
His injuries began to heal, and he rotated his cultivation base which stabilized his condition.
In about a few moments, he recovered completely and his wounds disappeared. His eyes focussed again, and they stared at Hawk and his mother.
Before they could do anything, he appeared right in front of them, and grabbed their arms.
A strange energy flowed into their body’s and began to heal their wounds almost immediately.
Because neither of the two cultivated, they didn’t know that, what they were experiencing was Saint energy repeatedly healing their bodies.
Hawks bruises disappeared and his mother’s ankle straightened itself, and their tiredness vanished. They could feel such great energy in their bodies, that they could probably go without food or sleep for a few months.
But, Hawk’s mother grew wary of the youth in front of her.
Cultivators were never this good to mortals. This youth surely had killed all the beasts chasing them, which was proof of his immense power. And those, beasts were not few in number, yet he was able to come out alive. No way he was just another regular cultivator.
The youth seemed to sense her wariness and inched away.
“You want to know, why I saved you?” He asked her drily.
Due to her fear, she could only hold Hawk tightly and with difficulty nodded.
The youth moved a few meters away and sat down facing her.
“The reason I saved you was because, you were the only ones in danger.” He spoke nonchalantly.
“But, the others… the beasts chased them too.” She stuttered, and replied.
The youth had a smirk on his face and leaned back. His face had a cocky look.
“None of the other passengers were in any danger, because they were not mortals. All of them were cultivators. The weakest of them were Martial Warriors.”
The mother was shocked by this. She had never realised that the people that she had interacted with for the past few days were all cultivators.
“Forgive my rudeness, but how do you know they were cultivators.” She asked him respectfully.
“Have you heard of the alliance of Alphas?” He asked her, curious to find out if she knew.
“Alliance of Alphas? Pardon me, great master, but I have never come across that name before.” She apologized to him, keen to not offend him in the slightest.
Hmm, his face went back to a nonchalant look. He wasn’t surprised that the mortals had never heard of the Alliance of Alphas. Those were matters concerning the very peak of the cultivation world.
“Well, let’s just say that the others were like criminals who were hiding. Those beasts that attacked us, are just one of the traps to catch those criminals. Those who set those traps don’t usually care for any mortals getting caught in them. Even if a few mortals died, it never mattered. The lives of mortals were like sands in a desert to cultivators.” He spoke bluntly, turning to face the full moon.
Little Hawk, who was listening to all this, was shocked to know that, he and his mother were almost killed as collateral just to smoke out some criminals.
“That’s not fair. We were almost dead!!” He shouted at the scarred youth. His little frame was shaking with anger, and his appearance could be said to be like a kid throwing a tantrum. But, his eyes were fiery with rage.
“The world is not fair, kid. It’s just a cruel game made to torment and breakdown the weak.” The scarred youth, replied in his nonchalant and drank tone. He had experienced a lot in his short time alive, and they helped him develop his senses of judgement. He knew that what happened tonight, couldn’t even be counted as unfair, compared to other cruelties committed elsewhere to mortals.
He looked at Hawk, and his mother. His face remained grim. His scar appeared almost iridescent and prominent upon his face.
“I’ll escort you to your destination.” He got up and flexed his arms.
“Why are you helping us? What do you want?” Hawk’s mother, couldn’t help but ask? Even if he helped them, their lives would be in his hands.
“Why am I helping you? For no reason. I just felt like helping you, so I did. There’s no other reason.” He turned his back to them as his voice reached them.
The mother wasn’t convinced yet, but she couldn’t deny that this was the best way to reach their destination.
“Could Young Master please tell us your name?” She asked politely.
He had begun, walking away. His pace indicated that he wanted them to follow him.
“Don’t call me young master. My name is Li Ran.”
