THROWN INTO A NEW WORLD: LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN! - Chapter 891
Chapter 891: Wished To Know More
Howard and Taylor were quite impressed with the quick thinking of these girls thus their faces revealed their appreciation after witnessing what had just happened.
In such matters, the boys had to admit that they weren’t too knowledgeable of what needed to be done but were glad that the girls were better than them in this aspect.
Thus they inwardly praised these girls for their quick actions while also glancing at Yvonne to make sure that she was fine.
While Yvonne did not know if she had done something to offend her old friend, Silvia, she did not wish to ruin her day by thinking about it any further.
Her brothers and these other friends she had made would be worried for her sake and she did not want to ruin their day by sulking over what had just happened.
‘But I should talk to her about this…’ She added and decided to do it at another time.
Therefore, she chose to focus on those who were with her and wanted to make her feel better.
…..
“Does Miss Melissa also like to play the Piano?” She inquired to continue the conversation they had just begun.
The moment she uttered this query, Martha, and Moana, the younger triplets rolled their eyes before nodding vehemently.
“Melissa doesn’t go a single day without playing the piano.” The second sister complained while the youngest snickered, confirming this statement.
Right now, the Kiron sisters, Jorbin triplets, St. Claire siblings, and Taylor were standing at a short distance away from the rest and conversing among themselves.
Many such groups had been formed so there was nothing out of the ordinary about them.
The only aspect that did not match the rest was that this group seemed harmonious in each others’ presence while the others were murmuring among themselves without attracting too much attention.
Not to mention that this was also the only group where boys and girls were together.
However, considering the fact that Howard was related to Yvonne and Taylor addressed her as his sister, the adults chose to ignore this discrepancy once again.
Meanwhile, the children were oblivious to the pairs of eyes being aimed at them since they were focusing on the conversation taking place among them.
Yvonne had met the Jorbin triplets only a handful of times so she did not know much about them.
She also did not have much information regarding the three girls as neither the script she had read nor her dreams revealed much about them.
Since the Bird God had not bothered to mention those who did not play a vital part in the romance between the male and female leads, Yvonne gained nothing about the Jorbin family from the script she had read in the past.
The dreams she received at random intervals were also not helpful as ‘Yvonne’ from the script had minimal interaction with this family because the Jorbin family lived in their fief and rarely visited the Capital.
Ever since she had arrived in this world, a lot of things had changed and one of them was the arrival of the Jorbin family to the Capital.
Therefore, this information about the daughters of the Jorbin household was news to her as well.
“Then Miss Melissa must be excellent.” She exclaimed with a surprised look on her face.
Since the Jorbin family was from the south, it was doubtful whether Melissa Jorbin had the opportunity to study under the tutelage of the best piano instructor in their Kingdom, Governess Lester.
However, to hear that she excelled in this skill, Yvonne wished to know more about her.
Noticing that the youngest in their group had forgotten about what had just taken place and was focusing her attention on the topic they brought up, the rest heaved a sigh of relief before engaging her further.
“Our grand-aunt taught us.” Martha, the second sister revealed information that wasn’t known to the rest.
Unlike other families that sought to invite tutors from outside, the Jorbin girls had been taught how to play the musical instrument by their father’s paternal aunt.
Their grand-aunt had lost her husband at a young age and henceforth been staying with them, helping the family in any way she could.
As she had been talented at this skill, she had volunteered to teach the triplets when they were younger.
Melissa was the most talented among the three and had continued learning from their grand-aunt while the other two sisters had ended their lessons after accomplishing the bare minimum that was expected of them.
Therefore, the eldest triplet was the one who spent the majority of her time with this grand-aunt and bonded over their love for the musical instrument.
“After grand-aunt died, Melissa chose to honor her by practicing each day.” Moana disclosed the driving factor for her eldest sister’s passion for the piano.
The group fell into a deep silence once this matter was revealed which made Melissa, who was at the center of this topic, grimace after noticing their rapidly drooping spirits.
“She would have been infuriated if she was still alive.” The oldest triplet grumbled to drag them out of this gloomy mood.
It was safe to assume that she had succeeded as now, everyone was looking at her with a look of confusion and intrigue apparent on their faces.
Since she had disclosed only a part of this matter, Melissa decided to let them in on what had taken place to her in recent times.
“My father had asked a famous piano-making business situated close to our fief to make a new piano for me.” She began explaining the reason for her previous statement.
The little girls and the boys as well were curious to know more so they paid attention to exactly what was being said.
According to what Melissa had just revealed, the person who had been instructed to make a new piano by Marquess Jorbin had completed his task on time.
They had received a letter from the owner of the piano business, asking them to come to fetch it and the Marquess had sent his representative to deal with this matter since he was busy in the Capital.
A couple of days ago, the person who had been sent to purchase the piano and transport it to the Capital had returned but to their surprise, he informed them that the transaction between the two parties had fallen apart.
The piano which was made for the oldest Miss of the Jorbin family had already been sold to someone else who had offered a large sum of money by the time he had reached the southern fief.
When the Jorbin family’s servant had returned to the Capital empty-handed, Melissa was infuriated as that particular piano was created as per her instructions and thus was just according to her preferences.
Hence it was only fair that the piano belonged to her.
However, the business owner had been greedy for more money which led to this unfortunate situation for her.
He had even explained that the Jorbin family’s recent relocation to the Capital had caused him to assume that they no longer desired it and hence had sold it to someone else in no time.
“Even though Father sent his representative to meet that person on the day they had decided previously, the piano had already been sold to someone else by then.” She scoffed while recalling this incident.
The two parties had already come to an understanding a few months ago about the details of their deal but the business owner had disrespected them and violated their agreement by selling his latest creation to someone else.
Thus Melissa was fuming by the time her recollection of what had happened came to an end.
On the other hand, Yvonne and even Taylor frowned at the discrepancies in what this shrewd business owner had claimed was the reason for selling the piano to someone else.
“If the owner had no faith that you would come back to collect the piano then why did he send a letter all the way to the Capital, reminding you about its completion?” The younger son of the Tanner family was the one who spoke up first.
Once this point was mentioned, the others present nodded as they too felt that something was wrong.
If the owner truly believed that the Jorbin family had lost interest in the piano he created then he would not have wasted his money by sending a letter to inform them about it.
Instead, he would have remained silent and sold it to someone else once the predetermined time for the transaction between the two parties had passed.
In this way, it would be fair to blame the Jorbin family for disrespecting the agreement made between the two.
However, the owner, after sending a letter before this predetermined time, had not even waited for them to appear and had sold it to someone else without caring about the promise he had made to the Jorbin family.
Therefore, in the eyes of these children, the owner of the business was the one in the wrong for what he had done.
‘Just how much money was that man offered that he was willing to go against a Marquess’s family?’ Yvonne narrowed her eyes while mulling over this matter which she found suspicious.
Meanwhile, Melissa pursed her lips after hearing what the Young Master of the Tanner family had just inquired.
“The owner was trying to come up with excuses for what he had done!” She announced, repeating that he was just greedy for more money and hence had acted in such a way.
She too had noticed what Taylor was trying to say which worsened her mood.
“Why else would he have sent a letter to us but sold it to someone else without even waiting for us to reach out to him?” She scowled when she thought of how someone had stolen what should have been hers by using such dirty tricks.
