THROWN INTO A NEW WORLD: LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN! - Chapter 897
Chapter 897: A Not So Friendly Conversation
“I found him wandering around so I brought him here.” A gruff voice attracted the attention of the children who had formed a separate group earlier.
After discussing Earl Mikren’s pianos, this group consisting mostly of young girls had already moved to chat about various miscellaneous matters.
At this moment, they had heard the statement which succeeded in distracting them.
Hence, the girls along with the two boys turned in the direction of this voice to see just who it was.
‘Oh…’ Yvonne had a bland look which revealed that she was unamused when she saw who it was.
Two individuals about whom she did not have high opinions appeared at the very same time so it was obvious that she was not impressed in the least bit.
One of the people standing before her right now was the older boy with whom she had a large number of differences and the other was someone whom she found unlikable after their very first encounter at a party just like this in the past.
…..
Damien, one of the newcomers, had already caught the languid look in Yvonne’s eyes but chose not to focus on it as his attention had been lured elsewhere.
A strong gust of wind had blown past them which resulted in his brown hair fluttering around, messing up the neatly-combed hairstyle he had today.
Therefore, he hurriedly let go of the collar he had been holding in order to sort out the mess that the wind had made.
However, in the next second, coos and gasps were heard coming from the group of girls whom he had approached for a certain reason.
Damien did not stop what he was doing but at the same time, glanced in the direction of these sounds that emerged out of nowhere.
This action of his resembled Yvonne’s who had done the same by glancing sideways, only to find dazed faces staring in a different direction.
‘Hmm?’ She followed their line of sight with a confused look to figure out what had caught their eye.
It did not take her long to grasp what had caused them to react this way as the Jorbin triplets were staring unblinkingly at the older boy who had just appeared with a starry look in their eyes.
This realization made her shudder and cringe before she rolled her eyes at the person who had made them behave this way.
Damien frowned because he had no idea why he was being welcomed with an eye roll, however, he decided to shift his attention toward his purpose for arriving here.
“Young Master Howard, I believe this person belongs in your care.” He announced his reason for appearing here while handing over the person he had brought along with him.
__
Earlier, Damien had been delayed due to certain circumstances but wasn’t too worried about being disrespectful to the host as he had already informed his best friend about his late arrival.
Therefore, he had taken his sweet time before setting out for the Tanner household.
Since he had always used the secret passage that was close to the back entrance of the Tanner mansion each time he visited his friend, he had done the same this time as well.
However, on his way to the venue of the party, he had come across a certain sight which had delayed him further.
At a short distance from the secret path that he had been taking, he found a group of boys surrounding someone he had seen on quite a few occasions.
From a distance, it appeared as though the boys were having a simple conversation with a friendly atmosphere around them.
Nevertheless, he found something odd as he had witnessed a similar sight in the past as well.
Therefore, he did not wait around but headed in their direction, approaching them before they even knew it.
As expected, the sight which looked friendly from afar was nothing alike when he got close enough to hear what was going on here.
Though the boys spoke with a smile, it was without a doubt that there were intimidating undertones concealed beneath their words.
Damien had lowered his presence by using his aura so none of them had noticed him getting closer to them until he finally appeared before them.
His unexpected arrival stunned a few but one, the obvious leader among them stood undeterred.
“Does Senior Damien not know that it is rude to spy and intrude on someone else’s conversation?” Zimon Yona tilted his head while reprimanding the older boy for his disrespectful actions in a roundabout manner.
However, his words fell on deaf ears as Damien’s attention was on the one they had been talking to.
“Why are you here?” He inquired, fixing his gaze on the young boy with foreign features which were quite prominent.
The little boy whose height had not grown too much in the past year had to raise his head to look at the one who had just spoken.
His eyes flitted in the direction of the Yona family’s heir before reverting to the boy who was now standing before him.
“I got lost and was asking for directions.” The boy muttered after a brief silence.
Hearing this response, Damien rolled his eyes because he did not believe a single word while Zimon’s smirk disappeared before anyone could catch it.
“I did not know that Young Master Zimon knew the Tanner household’s routes so well.” Damien, who had witnessed that smirk that no one else had, retorted with one of his own.
The Yona family’s heir had been sarcastic to him earlier so now it was his turn to return the favor.
From what he had seen earlier, it was clear that Zimon and his group tried to confront this boy about something but he still spoke up in their defense.
Though Damien found this situation to be odd, he did not forget why he had appeared here in the first place.
“Since you are lost, let me take you back to the party. Young Master Howard must have arrived by now.” He revealed and as expected, the boy’s face lit up with excitement at hearing the name of the St. Claire family’s heir.
Without the hesitation he had displayed only a moment ago, the young boy nodded his head in haste and even urged him to hurry up.
He then even went as far as to ignore the older boys who had been surrounding him until now and pulled Damien with him as the two boys left in a haste.
‘You only know how to stand up for yourself when Howard is involved?’ The young boy with forest green eyes let out a little scoff when he sensed the urgency with which he was being dragged along.
However, he did not forget to turn around and glance in the direction of the boys who had been planning to do something useless in someone else’s territory.
‘They haven’t changed.’ He narrowed his eyes while fixing his stern gaze on Zimon who did not shy away but leered back at him.
Quite impressed with the confidence that the younger boy had displayed, Damien looked away and focused on where he was going.
“That’s not the right way…” He groaned when he saw that he had been led down the wrong path by the hasty young boy.
This made him believe a part of the excuse the boy had given previously.
Letting out a loud sigh, he removed himself from the younger boy’s grasp, and this time, he was the one who dragged the other all the way to the venue of the tea party.
Along the way, Damien inquired about how he had ended up with Zimon and his group which the boy was happy to answer.
Just as his narration had come to an end, they had arrived at the venue and this was how the two had appeared at the tea party together.
___
When Damien first arrived, Taylor’s vigilance heightened as he had known something which his best friend was still unaware of.
‘Why is he staring at Vonny again!?’ He grumbled inwardly, desperately wanting to block the older boy’s line of sight.
However, he had failed to notice that it was his little sister who had looked at Damien first which had attracted that boy’s attention towards her in return.
Regardless of who might have initiated the eye contact, Taylor would have blamed the older boy anyway so there was no use in him knowing this part of the truth.
On the other hand, Howard, whose name had just been uttered, also fixed his gaze on the two boys who had arrived here just earlier.
“Lyon?” He called out the name of the second boy who had appeared alongside Damien as it was a rare sight to see the two of them together.
