THROWN INTO A NEW WORLD: LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN! - Chapter 904
Chapter 904: Growing Closer
‘One nod from him is enough to make their worries disappear.’ Yvonne complained as she had been persuading the girls to give the fox a chance but had not been able to succeed.
Yet just a simple nod from Topher had worked wonders in changing their minds.
However, when she realized that this act had allowed the girls to put their fears aside and take a step toward Rouge, the disgruntlement in her heart faded away.
Though these girls had come in contact with the etchers belonging to their relatives at some given point in their lives, they had never gotten the opportunity to interact with those beasts at a closer level.
Therefore, there had been fear and anxiety within them when they came across Rouge.
However, the constant urging of Miss Yvonne and the assurance of the Tanner family’s heir had assisted them in letting go of the worrying thoughts buried within them.
The fact that the huge red fox had sat obediently on the ground while waiting for them to decide their next course of action also helped in easing whatever anxieties left in their hearts.
…..
Thus as they watched Miss Yvonne playing with the etcher so fearlessly, they too managed to take a step forward and come close to them.
This sight had made Yvonne smile as the girls had taken a step in the right direction and soon watched as they gathered the courage to cautiously pet and caress the considerate etcher who sat still lest she frightened these young misses.
Thanks to the cooperative nature of the etcher which was contrary to Celestial’s, who disliked others getting closer to him, Rouge was able to win the hearts of these young girls in no time.
Soon Yvonne raised her brows in amusement when she was ever so gently nudged aside by the five young misses who were now busy pampering the etcher with backrubs and scratches.
Just by looking at Rouge’s face, she could tell that the pretty red fox was enjoying the loving care she was receiving right now.
Since Yvonne had achieved her goal of removing the fear of the beast from the hearts of the girls she had gotten to know in the last few years, she did not mind when she noticed their attention being aimed only at the etcher.
Instead, with a smile on her face, she took a step away and went to stand next to her brothers.
Earlier when they had begun their journey from the venue of the tea party to the greenhouse, Howard and Lyon had also joined them as there was no way that the heir of the St. Claire’s family could let his sister out of his sight.
Since he was heading in a different direction, it was without a doubt that the heir of the Jorbin family had followed them as well.
Hence right now, a large group of boys and girls were present in the greenhouse where the girls were busy petting the fox while the boys stood at the side and watched over them.
When Yvonne reached her brother’s position, she smiled at him before scowling at the young boy standing next to him.
Lyon too responded with an equally distorted expression as the impression they had of each other was mutual.
The one witnessing this sight from the side frowned upon noticing the candid relationship the young miss of the St. Claire’s family seemed to share with this younger boy.
However, that frown disappeared in the next second as the girl had averted her attention from Lyon Jorbin and those wide amethyst eyes were soon fixed on someone else.
‘I cannot deny that…’ Yvonne agreed after turning towards the one whose voice had just echoed in her mind.
While she had been scowling at the little brat stuck to her elder brother just a moment ago, a certain someone had whispered something to her by means of the mental link between their etchers.
Hence her attention which had been on Lyon had moved almost instantly before it landed on the one who had spoken to her.
Damien did not know why he had done so but before he could realize it, he had interrupted the silent scowls and sneers taking place between the younger children.
‘Wouldn’t Aster be surrounded just as Rouge is right now?’ He had inquired when her eyes were fixed on the son of the Jorbin family.
Right now, only a few of them were present in this greenhouse, none of whom posed a threat to her secret of possessing the ability to wield aura.
Hence there had been no hesitation before a mental link between their etchers was formed.
The only boy who did not know about Yvonne’s awakening was Lyon and as he had not yet found his fated beast, there was no way that he could sense the auras surrounding him right now.
For this reason, neither Yvonne nor Damien was worried about the young girl’s secret being exposed and hence conversed freely.
Hearing the older boy’s query, she could only nod as she had to admit that Aster’s little size and his pure white fluffy fur made him appear much cuter than the fox who now had grown in size, losing some of its adorable impression from the past.
Therefore, had Aster accompanied his master to this event, the girls would have flocked him instantly.
Hence Yvonne could only agree with what the older boy had just mentioned with a serious nod.
Damien felt both amused and odd when he witnessed that stern look on her face.
However, he was quick to put an end to their communication as it had been subconsciously initiated before he could make sense of what he was doing.
Finding this aspect to be odd, the teenager swiftly looked away as he had a lot on his mind which needed to be mulled over.
‘Strange…’ Yvonne shook her head when their communication had been abruptly disconnected but did not mind it as she had something better to do.
Turning her attention towards her sworn brother, her wide eyes were soon fixed on the grey cat resting in his master’s arms.
“Brother Taylor, when will Celestial let me pet it?” She whispered her inquiry while staring intently at the feline who was also looking into her eyes right now.
‘I’ll claw your eyes out before you even get the chance to touch me.’ The grey cat with sparkling golden eyes retorted, glaring at the little girl standing only a few steps away from him.
However, Yvonne who only heard a feeble mewl coming from the cat gasped at how adorable this little action was.
Contrary to how she was feeling, Taylor, the only one who could decipher what his etcher had truly said, had a look of absolute horror in his eyes.
He could not believe that Celestial had thought of harming his baby sister whom he wished to protect from every tribulation.
‘You should never do such a thing! Not to Vonny and not to anyone else!’ He reprimanded his usually gentle feline for even having such violent thoughts.
However, this young master did not know that the feline whom he had thought to be sensible and kind was only so in his presence.
If anyone else had tried to approach Celestial when his master wasn’t around then the beast would not hesitate to put into action the thoughts he had just a few moments ago.
“Brother?” Yvonne’s curious voice brought Taylor back from his worried thoughts.
Turning to look at her, he found his little sister with her head tilted as she waited to hear the answer to her earlier query.
“Soon, Vonny…” Was all that he could mutter in response which was immediately retorted with a snort coming from the feline laying in his arms who seemed to disapprove of the words he had just uttered.
However, Yvonne, who was clueless about the exchange taking place between this pair of etcher and etched, only smiled and nodded her head at the vague response she received.
‘Maybe he is more averse to the idea of others touching him than Demon is.’ She analyzed and found an explanation for the cat’s dislike towards her.
Therefore, she could only sigh but at the same time, did not forget to leer in the direction of a certain someone else standing in their group.
‘His etcher likes me but he won’t let us meet!’ She grumbled inwardly and scowled at the owner of the etcher she had just mentioned.
This time, when Damien sensed her glare he did not have to think twice as he had already grasped the reason for the unfriendly glance he had just received.
‘Don’t even think about it!’ He sneered right back, retorting to the young girl who hadn’t made her thoughts known yet the message had reached him loud and clear.
