THROWN INTO A NEW WORLD: LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN! - Chapter 905
Chapter 905: Let Us Head Back
Damien looked away after saying his piece as he had not been expecting a reply in the first place.
In the next second, the soon-to-be young man found another pair of glaring eyes fixed on him.
Noticing that it was coming from Taylor Tanner, he felt exasperated but also amused at how this sight was now becoming a normal occurrence to him.
‘You only know how to leer at me…’ Damien blinked his forest-green eyes at this second set of glaring eyes that had been aimed at him in the last few seconds.
It was without a doubt that he found it funny that this sworn brother of the little girl only targeted him yet conveniently ignored when someone else was also staring at her.
‘Quite blatantly at that.’ He added in his mind as his gaze inadvertently turned in the direction of the one he had been referring to.
When Damien’s eyes finally landed on the only son of the Jorbin family, the thought of how petty he was acting struck him, causing him to look away at once.
…..
Lyon and Yvonne had been sharing secret glimpses only moments ago while they stood so close to Taylor yet that young boy had failed to catch sight of it.
The second son of the Tanner family was busy caressing his new etcher and was least bothered about what his sworn sister was doing.
However, the second he even glanced in her direction, there was someone to leer and glare at him.
This realization made him sigh at how difficult even carrying out a simple conversation with the younger girl seemed to be.
He could not recall how he had managed to garner such vigilance from Taylor but was certain that it was uncalled for.
At the same time, when he thought of how he had subconsciously called out to Yvonne who had been conversing with Lyon Jorbin through silent signals, he felt his eyebrow twitch.
He could not grasp why he had done so nor had he any clue about where such actions stemmed from.
This inability to decipher what his body was up to made Damien sigh once again, this time at himself for being so clueless.
‘Maybe I should head back now.’ He decided that it would be better to leave the tea party rather than stay with such complicated thoughts brewing in his mind.
However, before he could reveal the plan that he had just made, a loud and crisp voice was heard coming from his side.
Until now, he had only been conversing through the mental link between etchers so it was slightly refreshing to now hear a voice that did not echo in his mind.
“Let us head back.” It was Topher Tanner, the main focus of today’s party, who had announced that it was time for them to leave the greenhouse.
This announcement once again brought up that same refreshing sentiment in Damien as his best friend had uttered the very words he had been hoping to hear.
Therefore, he nodded in appreciation of the one who had spoken though the other person could not understand why he was being looked at with such a pleasant gaze.
‘What is wrong with him?’ Topher tilted his head, shuddering and wondering if his friend had eaten something wrong this morning.
After all, the friendship between them had never belonged to the sweet and caring nature but involved a whole lot of cynical sneers and sarcastic retorts.
Therefore, it was understandable that he found it strange when his best friend suddenly decided to grace him with that pleasant smile from earlier.
While Topher was in no way glad that he had witnessed that gentle smile, the same could not be said for the other girls present here.
Hearing the announcement made earlier had attracted the attention of everyone in Young Master Topher’s vicinity and this included the group of five girls who had been petting and playing with the big red fox.
Therefore, they had turned around just in time to catch the fleeting but bright smile which made their cheeks turn a faint shade of pink.
This was especially so for the Jorbin triplets who felt their heartbeats quicken at this sight, whereas, the Kiron sisters also blushed for a moment before they regained their composure.
Contrary to the triplets, Aleena and Rika had met this mysterious young master who was said to be a distant relative of the Tanner family on quite a few occasions.
At almost every event held in the Tanner estate, Topher and Damien could be seen in each others’ company.
Therefore, the Kiron family who had a close relationship with Duchess Tanner had also gotten the chance to meet and be acquainted with him for a long time now.
However, the triplets were different as they had only recently moved to the Capital and had not yet gotten the chance to meet numerous members of their noble society.
Today could be said to be their very first official encounter with the older boy so their bashful expressions could be overlooked after considering the fact that the boy with brown hair and forest green eyes surely was a pleasant sight to behold.
Yvonne, who had been away from the girls after she was pushed aside, rolled her eyes when she laid on this familiar scene once again.
‘They have bad taste.’ She harrumphed when she thought of the triplets swooning at the sight of the infuriating older boy. n0𝓋𝔢𝑙𝑈𝓈𝚋.𝓬0𝓂
However, she did not make her thoughts known but turned in the direction of the one who had attracted her attention just earlier.
‘Did something happen?’ Her thoughts were written all over her face as she waited to gain some answers.
Noticing her gaze, Topher decided to reveal the reason for making that announcement.
‘He distracted me!’ He did not forget to curse and blame his best friend whose smile had caused him to lose his train of thought which resulted in the confusion he was facing right now.
“Everyone has arrived so the tea party can begin now.” He disclosed why he was asking their group to head back to the venue.
Until now, though the time stated in the invitation for the tea party had passed, a few of the influential figures had not yet arrived.
Hence the official commencement of the tea party had been delayed but that would be rectified soon enough.
Just a few moments ago, he had received news that more people had entered their estate and among them was the one who happened to be the main reason for the party to be delayed.
Knowing that everyone whose presence was needed had thus arrived, Topher was sensible enough to realize that their presence would also be required soon enough.
Therefore, instead of waiting around for servants to come to fetch them, he had taken the initiative to bring them back himself.
When Yvonne gained the answer she was looking for, it was easy for her to grasp what he meant by it.
When she first entered the tea party and when she was heading toward the greenhouse, both times, the little girl had scanned her surroundings as she had always been conscious of who was around her.
Therefore, she had noticed that many of the important figures seemed to be missing.
Among them, the Brodie family, the Carter family, and Duke Tanner himself were nowhere to be seen.
This helped her deduce that they had not yet arrived at the Tanner estate.
‘So the tea party begins now.’ She declared after coming to this realization and soon nodded her head to the host of this event.
Thus the group of young boys and girls who had been focusing on different matters until now, unanimously decided that it was now time for them to leave this beautiful greenhouse and make their way to the venue of the tea party they had left a while ago.
Damien, who though had made up his mind to leave the party soon, decided to stay for longer as this would be a change of pace for him.
‘Better than listening to his constant whining.’ He grimaced while thinking of the one who was waiting for him back at his residence.
Thus the young boy decided that he would rather get glared at for no particular reason than have his ears tormented by his etcher’s neverending blabber.
If Aster had discovered the impression his master had about him then he would have grumbled and whined further in an attempt to change his mind.
Unfortunately, as he had no way of hearing what went through Damien’s mind, he continued to remain in his clueless and oblivious world, ignorant of what his master truly thought of him.
