THROWN INTO A NEW WORLD: LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN! - Chapter 941
Chapter 941: Welcome Back
Prince Fritzen felt that the young girl was worried about what would take place next so he had simply held onto her hand as a gesture to comfort her.
He often used this method on numerous occasions to ease the discomfort his little sister felt or at times she got nervous for certain reasons.
Therefore, he did not think too much as he held Yvonne’s hand in his and walked out of the corridor they were standing in until now.
“My carriage is standing right outside the mansion so how do you expect me to leave from the back door?” He whispered his argument, leaning closer to her ear.
Yvonne froze for a second, not due to the abruptly diminished distance between them but the fact that his words made sense.
The Prince had arrived in a discreet carriage to avoid drawing too much attention to himself and that carriage was now waiting outside the mansion for his return.
Each time he arrived at the St. Claire estate, his servants would park the carriage in the same spot and wait for him to return once he had completed his visit.
…..
Therefore, even if he wished to, Prince Fritzen would not be able to follow her suggestion of sneaking out of the estate using the back entrance.
“I can ask your servants to meet you there once you slip out.” He heard a disgruntled whisper soon after he had disclosed his circumstances.
Those bold words asking a Prince to sneak out of the estate by using the back entrance and being made to wait for his servants to pick him up from there made Fritzen wish to applaud her bravery which seemed to know no bounds.
However, he remained silent as though he had not heard her grumbling solution and headed towards the main entrance of the mansion which was also where the new carriage seemed to have come to a halt.
___
Outside the St. Claire mansion,
A carriage had just come to a halt and Butler Limo was the first to hurry and open the door for the ones seated inside.
The Master of the household wasn’t present and the same was true for the Madame.
Therefore, Butler Limo was the one who had come forward to welcome this new carriage that had entered their estate.
His gaze kept flitting towards another carriage that had been parked in a discreet corner of the front yard of the mansion, worried that something unnecessary would take place if he wasn’t too careful.
Hence his plan was to escort the guests inside right away, not giving them a chance to let their gaze wander anywhere else.
Having come up with this plan, Butler Limo pulled the door of the carriage open and bowed as he took a step back to allow those seated inside a chance to alight.
“Welcome back, Young Master.” He greeted in a loud voice to express his joy at the arrival of this person.
As the door of the carriage was opened, Howard St. Claire, the heir of this mansion, who had been away for the last five months or so stepped out immediately.
It wasn’t just him but three other boys followed him soon after, facing the Butler who had now lifted his head and greeted them as well.
“Finally!” Howard grinned as he stared at the mansion he had been missing for months now.
“Where is everyone?” He questioned the Butler as he could not find any of his family members present to welcome him.
He had already informed his Father through a letter that he would be arriving today but had not specified the exact time of his arrival.
Hence it seemed that his family wasn’t yet prepared to welcome him as he could not see anyone waiting here for him.
Nevertheless, Howard wasn’t too affected by the lack of a warm welcome and was just glad to be back home.
“Master has gone out on some business and Madame is at the Valente villa.” Butler Limo replied, explaining why the Earl and Countess weren’t present here to welcome the young master.
His words brought a flash of understanding to Howard who realized that the dull welcome was due to the fact that his parents weren’t in the estate right now.
“And Vonny?” He asked a second time and frowned when he saw the old man’s shoulders flinch a bit.
While Howard was trying to decipher why he had witnessed this reaction, the boy standing next to him finally spoke up.
“I missed Vonny!” Taylor Tanner lamented at the thought of not having met his baby sister for so many months now.
Being stuck in the Royal Academy with no chances of seeing Yvonne had been a miserable time for this young boy who was a fanatic for his sworn sister.
Therefore, as soon as they were allowed to return home, Taylor announced that he would first head to the St. Claire mansion, and only then would he think about returning to the Tanner estate.
Their hectic year at the academy had finally come to an end the previous evening and today morning they had attended the closing ceremony that concluded this academic year.
The Royal Academy would be closed for the coming summer vacation and classes for the next academic year would commence only after the month-long vacation came to an end.
Therefore, Taylor was in a hurry to spend his free period with both his family and Yvonne.
However, based on his current attitude, it was clear that the little sister had greater priority in his heart as he was adamant to meet her first.
Thus Howard and Taylor returned to the Capital once the closing ceremony had reached its conclusion and the boys were allowed to head out of the academy.
They would have reached earlier had it not been for the fact that their carriage had broken down mid-journey and they had to rely on someone else’s help to reach the St. Claire mansion safely.
“How old are you now? Still haven’t learned how to be tactful!” A sarcastic sneer was heard coming from the side, making Howard and Taylor turn in its direction.
Taylor was already aware of who this person was even if he had not turned to have a look.
‘To hell with tact, I just want to meet my Vonny!’ He rolled his eyes before his gaze landed on his elder brother who had also alighted from the same carriage earlier.
The two best friends had left the Royal Academy ahead of the others in an attempt to rush back to the Capital but they seemed to have bad luck as their carriage had broken down midway due to a faulty wheel.
Thus they had to reach out to someone else for help and the only person they could think of was another pair of best friends journeying from the academy to Amarthea.
Therefore, Taylor had reluctantly used his mental link to seek the help of his elder brother who had still been in the academy at that time.
The two boys stranded on the side of a deserted path thus had to wait until Topher Tanner had arrived to pick them up a good twenty minutes later.
When they entered the carriage that had come to rescue them, they found the heir of the Tanner family seated inside along with his best friend.
Therefore, after Howard and Taylor had joined them, the rest of the journey had been a cramped one, ruining the atmosphere due to the discomfort everyone was facing.
Thankfully, their journey had come to an end and they no longer would have to remain seated in the stuffy carriage.
Thinking of the help he had gained from his elder brother, Taylor decided to bear the taunt he had just received in silence.
He even put on a forced smile and nodded his head as though he would keep his elder brother’s wise words in his mind and be careful to not be tactless in the future.
Topher was endlessly amused to see his brother pretend to be docile and just as he was about to mock him further in an attempt to test his patience, he heard a loud cry which attracted everyone’s attention.
“Vonny!” Howard practically howled the moment he saw a figure in white appearing at the entrance of the mansion they were standing before.
However, the joy and enthusiasm in his eyes faded when he noticed a second figure walking right next to her.
‘H-hand…!’ A siren of warning blared in the elder brother’s head and his eyes turned dark when his gaze fell on something he never could have anticipated in a million years.
He wasn’t the only one who felt this way as even Taylor’s eyes narrowed when his gaze fixed on the two figures who had just reached the entrance of the St. Claire mansion.
Butler Limo also was stunned as he did not expect them to arrive here at this moment but soon shifted his unsettling gaze at the hands that remained in contact even now.
Three pairs of eyes were leering at the two figures who had arrived hand-in-hand whereas two others had focused their attention in different directions.
‘I made the right choice to come here!’ Topher almost cackled inwardly, appreciating his brilliant mind that had decided to first halt at the St. Claire mansion instead of the Tanner estate which he had planned to do earlier.
After all, if he had asked the driver to leave him at the Tanner estate first then wouldn’t he have missed this entertaining sight?
Therefore, Topher was glad to have arrived here first as this gave him the chance to watch an interesting show that was about to take place any time now.
