Eternal items!
The very, very rare type of item: Eternal items! These were embodiments of elements, and usually were found naturally or produced by a very powerful cultivator.
Examples would be Eternal Fire, Eternal Ice, Eternal Metal, Eternal Air, etc., the list could go on for every 1080 elements, but this kind of item was said to be formed by two factors: Luck and one’s comprehension.
If the universe was feeling lucky, it could form one on the spot in a random place where that certain element is dominating that area, randomly containing a percentage of complete understanding of that specific element.
The comprehension part comes from the perspective of man-made Eternal items. Generally, this included portions or a nearly-complete copy of the creator’s comprehension of that particular element.
The Eternal items that Xander gave, have a general comprehension of 30% of the Origin elements. The elements he selected were Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Wood, Light, Darkness, Destruction, Fate, and Mind. When translated to the specific elements he created, that was roughly 85% complete comprehension of those elements.
If a Demigod-1, let’s say, matched one of those elements and got one of those and completely meditated with the item for the next 10 years, he would rapidly breakthrough from Demigod-1 to Demigod-9, and after 15 more years, he would form his Elemental Essence stone, with a Rank 3 to Rank 2 Color quality. This meant as a Divine-1, he could potentially fight someone at the Divine 4 to 6 stage without instantly dying. He might not win, but he won’t lose or die right away.
At the same time, if the Eternal item has not been completely consumed, that Divine cultivator can use that item to rapidly boost the comprehension of their primary essence stone of the same element, reaching the same comprehension of 85% or filling up the missing gaps in their comprehension, up to 100%, rapidly advancing their Divine class rank from Divine-1 to Divine-9.
Of course, this assumes that he has only 1 primary element. If he had two, he needed the Eternal item corresponding to that or he will be stuck at the Divine-1 stage for a long time. The same goes for those with 3, or four, and above.
Sages can use these Eternal items to reverse comprehend for the origin elements the items’ elements fall under. This would initially give them more security in breaking through to God Class. For the other origin elements, they would have to brave through different, dangerous places in the universe and hope for a serendipitous encounter or enlightenment concerning these particular origin elements.
Generally, the easiest to reverse comprehend is the Yin-Yang and the Life-Death origin elements. It’s Space-Time, Order, and Chaos origin elements that pose a harder problem. They don’t have any elements under them, but rather, general representation groups.
This was the reason why everyone was worked up and excited. However, for the disciples of magibiopharmacists, the reason they were excited was the Eternal Fire! This was a type of Heaven flame, allowing the pills they concoct to rise in success!
Of course, these were the disciples of the renowned Grandmasters and Masters that didn’t have their very own Eternal flames.
When their masters heard this, they decided to go all out, transferring roughly trillions’ worth of Galaxy coins to their disciples’ joint account, allowing them to bid for the flame. They also planned to head to the auction houses themselves, to ensure that nothing would happen to their flames. Their estimated time of arrival was 1 day. All they needed to do was stay inside the auction house in the meantime and wait for them, estimated to arrive later tonight since they started their move last night.
The reason they could arrive in one day is that they utilized their connections to different empires, allowing them rapid access to their Transporters, unlike the Sages who had to travel through the traditional bureaucratic processes, the magibiopharmacists gain a fast pass.
However, they didn’t know who consigned the items, as the Koeman Group didn’t announce it.
The perpetrator for the uproar, Xander, was just waking up his mirror image and controlling it to head to the auction house. As he was moving out and about, he bumped against two people, Reva and Martina.
Martina was about to shout in indignance but saw who they bumped, and immediately swallowed whatever she was about to say.
Seeing that there was no shouting whatsoever, Reva stood up, dusting his pants, and turning around, causing him to look dumbfounded as well. They recognized him as the man who was escorted as a Special Persons guest.
Before Xander could even move away as he felt he knew what was going to happen, it was Martina who got the courage to speak.
“Oh! Mister! Are you ok? We didn’t mean to bump you!” She said, acting girlishly all of a sudden, causing goosebumps to rise for Reva.
Reva, who was conspicuously nudged, nodded his head, saying,
“Yup, yup mister, sorry about that! Are you heading to the Auction as well?”
“… yes, I am,” Xander replied, his voice calm.
When Martina heard his answer, she decided to strike while it was hot.
“Oh! So are we! Wanna go there together, Mister?”
“…whatever.” Xander shrugged. Reva and Martina looked at each other and nodded imperceptibly before they showed the brightest smiles and began to chat and drone.
After a while, they were close to the auction house’s location. It was Reva that used this opportunity to shorten the distance between the three of them.
“Oh, Mister, what’s your name? My name’s Reva, and that’s my fellow disciple, Martina.” He asked with his cheerful voice.
“…You can call me Chronicler.” Xander responded calmly, his tone opposite to what the two disciples were experiencing right now.
T-t-the Chronicler, the one who made those elixirs, elixir pills, and magic artifacts had been the one we were talking with for the past few minutes???
However shocked they were, Martina, with decades of training, didn’t show any physical changes in her tone and wording.
“Oh! So you were the one who consigned those elixirs. Was it hard creating those elixirs and elixir pills?”
“Hmm? I consider these failures. Not worth my time being proud of. I needed to dispose of them since I was running out of space.” Xander said nonchalantly. Hearing these words struck a blow at the two.
Hey, hey, are you saying the items we have been excited for are considered trash in your eyes? Damn it, are we garbage collectors then?
However, the two didn’t show their emotional breakdown. This time, it was Xander’s time to ask a question.
“…Are you going to buy the Eternal Fire for your teacher?”
“Ah! You also heard of the Eternal Fire? Yes, we’ll hopefully compete for it. Our master is on his way here waiting for the good news.”
“…I see, best of luck then. I have no interest in such items.” Xander responded, wishing them luck. For the time they wasted, he decided to bestow them a powerful [Lakshmi’s Grace], making them lucky for the next 5 years. When luck is applied in an event such as an auction, what would happen, I wonder, Xander thought to himself.
The two didn’t notice anything and continued to chat until they reached the gates. From there, Rev and Martina waved goodbye at Xander, who exchanged contact numbers with the two, who were giddy since they managed to make a contact with the elusive Chronicler.
They saw him being escorted once again inside, while they were waiting in the VIP line. Of course, compared to the line in the normal guests, they were a bit fortunate.
After roughly an hour, everyone was already inside, busy, and quite excited.
Xander, on the other hand, was more excited to get the Unknown magic beast egg and the Immortal elemental crystals.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the area where Brady was before lit up, showing his figure once again.
“Ladies and Gents, welcome back to the auction! I see that we have some fresh faces, so I’ll briefly mention it: the winning bid price is the final price of the item. Once you win the bid, you must have enough money, later on, to pay for the item, or you will be paying for it with your body…dead or alive!”
“Now, let’s begin the auction!”
Brady pointed to his left side, where a figure of an item appeared, showing an egg-like item.
“Our first item is a Mythic-class magic beast egg, the Faryon Aziz Bird! It is born as a Mythic-class and has been reported to grow to up to Sage class. We have no data if there were other magic beasts of the same kind that reached God class. It is born with 2 to 4 primary elements, and it has the power to fight a cultivator at the Demigod-2 stage as a Mythic-6 magic beast, roughly crossing 8 stages!”
“The starting bid is 500 million Galaxy coins. Increments of 100 million or more only! You have 2 minutes to place your bets.” The moment he said these words, bids started to pour out.
From 500 it quickly jumped to 650, then 800, then 1.2 billion, then 2 billion, before slowing down once it reached 2.8 billion. The final bid was 3 billion Galaxy coins, and a magic swordsman won the egg.
The auction continued, selling different magic beast eggs. Finally, it was the 99th item, the last magic beast egg to be auctioned.
“Our 99th item is an unknown magic beast egg. From our measurements, the magic beast inside will be born as a Demigod class being, but we are currently unsure what the potential of this magic beast would be. From our initial scans, it only has 2 primary elements.”
“The starting bid is 10 billion Galaxy coins. Increments of 200 million or more only! You have 2 minutes to place your bets.” Just as he finished his words, a glaring name appeared once again: Chronicler.
[SG] Chronicler – 80,000,000,000
Note: One of the remaining 6 items I’m going to buy. If anyone has an idea of what this is and willing to tell me, bid higher. Will concoct Immaculate, 20-star elixir pills for the info about and growing the beast.
Once his bid appeared, the room remained silent, before another name appeared.
[SG] Tamer – 80,200,000,000
Note: Deal. Need Zephyrus Blaze 20 elixir pill in exchange for these.
After it appeared, the board changed again, showing an updated bid.
[SG] Chronicler – 81,000,000,000
Note: I have the pill bottle with 5 of those right now. Send me your messenger to my room.
The new ones present were confused and dazed at the exchange.
Why were they using the bidding board to communicate with one another? Are you flaunting your money to us? Or your influence? The others who were here yesterday, however, was already accustomed to the antics Xander showed.
After 2 minutes, Xander won the egg, which he immediately paid for, receiving the egg. After a few seconds of receiving the egg, there was a light knock on his door.
He opened it and saw a female figure walking in, dressed up like a professional secretary.
“Mr. Chronicler?”
“You must be Tamer’s assistant. Here is the bottle of pills. You can confirm its authenticity, I presume?” Xander asked, guiding the pill bottle into her hands.
“Yes. Here is the information concerning the magic beast egg you bought, and the growing method for it,” she said, and she placed a simple document on the table beside the sofa, before slowly walking back and then checking the authenticity. After confirming that nothing was wrong, she bowed at Xander, before saying,
“The product has been confirmed, the deal has been completed. Thank you, on behalf of my master.”
With that, she walked towards the door and left the room. After the door was closed by Xander’s assistants, Xander checked the document, scanning it briefly. Noticing that there weren’t any tracing tools, he was suspicious, so he asked the System to do the scan.
Scanning…no tracing method detected. However, the document itself is the tracing method, due to the unique material vibration it produces in a certain dimension, H-23.
Hearing that, Xander briefly looked at H-23 and saw that it was a bunch of weird strings vibrating and oscillating at different speeds and strengths. He then saw that the paper he was holding was doing the same thing, albeit quite stronger than in the physical dimension.
Huh, the marvels of different dimensions. Oh well, it’s easily isolatable, so there’s no problem.
Xander covered the document with space power, completely isolating it. He opened it inside the space, reading the contents. After committing everything to memory, he destroyed the document.
Huh, interesting magic beast.
It seems it was a hybrid between a Universal Serpent, a World-ending wolf, and a Gryphon emperor.
It technically has no name yet, and its potential can be both a good thing or bad thing, depending on how it awakens its bloodlines. It was even possible that it would combine the bloodlines and form a completely new species. Interesting. I’ll name it Pooh, Xander mused.
To incubate it was simple: Place in a place abundant with Ice, Decay, Air, Fire, and Entropy elements, and incubate for 100,000 years.
Simple enough, since Xander can simulate that environment inside the laboratory.
For now, however, Xander kept the egg in his pocket dimension. He then looked at the projection. Brady was now introducing the next set of items for auction, which were raw plant materials…rare ones, that is.
People quickly threw their money for these items, but it didn’t interest him that much.
Then, after 150 items, the 250th item was the elemental crystals. The one first sold was just of perfect quality. Maybe, for the other higher quality, it would be near the end?
After 94 items, the 345th item was the immortal elemental crystals.
Brady briefly introduced it, starting the bid at 10 billion. Once again, Xander raised the bid to 50 billion, leaving a note that the remaining immortal crystals were his goal.
After a few minutes, he won that bid. The same went for the 346th, 347th, 348th and 349th elemental crystals. It was on the last immortal crystal, the Wood element crystal, that he had stiff competition.
When he placed the bid of 50 billion, it was immediately raised to 55, then 65, then 80 billion. Seeing the price rise, I immediately raised it to 150 billion, however, the bid quickly changed to 165 billion.
Xander was losing a bit of his patience and immediately bid 200 billion. Once it was placed, the VIP who was bidding against him stopped. I got the elemental crystal in the end, Xander muttered. He checked and realized he only had roughly half a trillion left for credit. It didn’t matter much since yesterday he already gained roughly 12 trillion Galaxy coins.
At the same time, when he consigned the Eternal items yesterday, they raised the credit limit he had to 1 trillion.
Did these idiots think I would bid for the Eternal items? Me, the seller? Idiots, I thought to myself.
Anyways, Xander quickly paid for the elemental crystal and had it delivered after a few minutes, which was then placed by Xander in his pocket dimension.
The auction continued, and it was the second and final batch of his pills being sold, the Immaculate, 20-star elixirs, and elixir pills.
Brady started excitedly,
“Ladies and Gents, the 351st item: An Immaculate-rank, 20-star elixir, Eradication of Gaussian Revolution, a set of 5 bottles! The effect of this elixir is once it has been drunk it gives you two of the following effects:
1. One stage improvement, no matter what class you are, tested up to Sage-9, completing all requirements for that stage improvement. It cannot allow you to break through to God class.
2. Improving one’s foundation by 1 rank up, from Master to Sage class.
3. Completely recover from one’s injuries, fixing problematic cultivation pathways and hidden injuries.
4. Time Dilation – Allows the consumer to experience a 1 second is to 100 years dilation for the next 60 minutes; every factor in your body will be affected, thus it would be useful overall for meditation and the like.
5. Improves one’s comprehension of the origin elements by 0.5%.
According to the maker, the Chronicler, Effect number 4 and 5 can only be received once, while Effect number 2 can only be received twice.
The elixir can only be taken thrice in one’s life. Any more would not have any effect whatsoever.”
“I know you’re salivating for the elixir, so let’s start the bid at 20 billion Galaxy coins. Increments of 2 billion or more only! You have 2 minutes to place your bets.”
Immediately, the bids skyrocketed, reaching an astronomical value of 140 billion in the matter of seconds. After it reached 150, it began slowing down, reaching a final price of 300 billion. It was a Divine-9 magician that got the item.
When the 2nd set was auctioned, there was more furor than the previous one, as they knew this was the last set. The final price reached 700 billion.
Xander was a bit surprised. If all his pills reached roughly around 300 to 350 billion in price… oh my. Oh my gosh. Xander couldn’t help but grin widely.
The pills continued to sell like hotcakes, and all the remaining 450 pills were sold of for a total of 88.92 trillion, and adding that to what he earned from the previous batch, he already had roughly 100 trillion Galaxy coins worth of money, or 1 billion Universal notes. Not bad, I became a billionaire from a pauper in 2 days, Xander said to himself.
This wasn’t calculating the artifacts’ prices yet, as well as the Eternal items.
The auction continued, and 801st item was the artifact sets he made. As expected, after all of them were sold, they reached an astounding total amount of 16.5 trillion. The first 25 artifacts at Class 5 sold at roughly 290 billion each, and the last 5 artifacts each sold for a nearly a trillion. Class 5 was a different league compared to that of Class 6 artifacts.
More than a hundred trillion Galaxy coins… subtracting the tax from it, Xander would still be a billionaire.
After the magic artifacts were auctioned, Brady announced that there will be a 30-minute break before the auction resumed.
Everyone began to chat with the others, some were congratulating the others while some were bragging, pissing off some of the people around them.
Xander, on the other hand, continued to browse for information related to the special guests in the Koeman Group’s database, so that once he left Eteria for good, he would have a better understanding of the influential people in the empires.
Time passed by and the break was over. Everyone quieted down and saw Brady’s figure once again appear in the space in front of them, holding his charming, suave smile.
“Everyone, welcome back. The 906th item up for auction is the items you have all been eying for: an Eternal item!” He passionately said.
“This is the first of the 10 items going to be auctioned: An Eternal Fire! I assume all of you know the purpose and benefits of such an item, so I’ll get straight to its quality. It is capable of raising 85% complete comprehension of your Fire element’s essence and representations. One can also use it to improve one’s elixir creation rate as it is considered a Heaven-rank flame!”
“A word of caution, of course: If you are below Sage class and you do not have the primary element of fire, it’s best that you don’t bid for this item because it would be quite useless for you.”
“Now, with all that said and done, the starting bid is 500 billion Galaxy coins, with increments of 50 billion or more only! You have 2 minutes to bid!”
Immediately, the price rose to 2 trillion, but it wasn’t stopping. It continued to rise, with the top person changing less than a second after. Reva and Martina were also bidding since they had around 15 trillion to spare to use for this flame. According to their master, this flame was going to be part of his collection of flames and placed higher importance on it than the pills.
In a minute, the bid was already 5 trillion, but it wasn’t slowing down. 30 seconds before the end of the bidding, the price was already 8 trillion. Reva and Martina were still in the bidding, as well as 7 other people. Since no one wants to back out, they only had to persevere till the end. Whoever bids successfully in the last split second would win the item.
