To Be or Not To Be A Family - Chapter 74
Everyone looked at what Ashma did. They could not believe what happened before their eyes. Young-Jae and Baek-Hyeon snatched all the cameras and deleted every photo. Paparazzi kept shouting at them that they could not do that but they didn’t listen to any of them. They had to save Ashma’s dignity.
The manager of the resort came running after hearing the commotion. After hearing the matter out, he stood with his guests in this matter. The manager said, “this is private property, first of all, you are trespassing on our property and second no photos are allowed without permission. You disobeyed two rules and I can call the police and send you guys to jail if you do not clear these grounds, this very moment.”
The paparazzi heard the manager, said sorry to everyone and ran away from there after taking their empty camera from the Park family. Young-Jae thanked the manager for his help.
“Anytime sir, “said the manager and left for other work.
Young-Jae’s eyes fell on the stall, Yong-Sun took Ashma to. He was angry at her as usual. Why did she have to always win, either by hook or crook? But today no one of them won. Both lost. She drank because of him and then acted like a moron. If the photos would be published his family name would be dragged with her. He knew she was under influence but she also knew there were paparazzi. She gave a look at the paparazzi before taking off her clothes. What did she want to prove? Why was she so keen on defying Young-Jae at every step?
Her kurta was still lying on the poolside. Vidhi went and picked it up. “I am sorry guys on Ashma’s behalf.”
“What are you talking about? That girl and harabuhji never let us get bored,” said Baek-Hyeon while shaking his head in disbelief. “We came for Chin-Sun and me but no harabuhji had to make it about him. And Nuna had to defy him. These two will never learn.” Baek-Hyeon was slowly getting angry. All came back and sat in their seats. Yong-Sun was still in the stall with Ashma.
“That’s true, why do you always have to poke her, harabuhji. We were so happy talking and enjoying but no, you had to go ahead and tease her,” scolded Bong-Cha.
“What did I do now?” asked Young-Jae.
“Oh, don’t act as if you did nothing. You mocked her because she never drinks. We all saw that,” said Eun-Kyung.
“If I mocked her, why did she drink. Can’t she take a simple tease? She should be proud that she never drinks. What is wrong with never drinking? If she is an idiot, why should I be held responsible?” screamed Young-Jae.
“Whether both of you, believe it or not, she wants your approval at the back of her head. And you too tease her because you want her to call you grandfather. It’s like if I like a girl I will pull her pigtails, grow up both of you,” shouted Hae-Won.
“Yes, she is right. You both are too much,” said Jong-Woo.
Young-Jae was shocked that all were against me. They never used to talk back to him and today because of that gurl everyone was scolding him. He shouted, “why am I the only one being scolded? Let her get here and scold her too.”
Suddenly Yong-Sun appeared with Ashma in his arms. She was wearing only her bra and white palazzo. Everyone saw Yong-Sun and ran towards him.
“What happened to her?” asked Vidhi. She touched her cheeks and said, “why is she so cold?”
“She fainted,” said Yong-Sun. “But she will be okay.” He then looked at Baek-Hyeon and said, “Get my keys out of my pocket and open my car.”
Baek-Hyeon followed his order. He placed his hands in his pocket and took out the key. He then ran towards the car and opened the passenger side for Ashma.
“Ashu! Ashu! Wake up!” said Vidhi with tears in her eyes.
“She is okay, it’s just the effect of alcohol in her system,” assured Yong-Sun. He reached his car and others followed him. “Baekhyeona! Give me your jacket too,” ordered Yong-Sun.
Yong-Sun placed her safely in the passenger seat. Baek-Hyeon handed his jacket to Yong-sun who in turn covered Ashma with the jacket and placed the seat belt over her. Her head was tilted and her hair was covering her face. Her mouth was slightly open and her whole body was limp.
“Get my jacket from the stall and take everyone home. I am taking her to the hospital,” Yong-Sun ordered Baek-Hyeon and drove away.
Everyone could just keep looking at Yong-Sun driving away with Ashma. He called up his friend from the car who was his friend, Dr Ryan Seung.
“Hi, Yongsuna!” his friend picked up the call with a few rings.
“Seungie! I need your help,” said Yong-Sun.
“Yes, anything,” said Seung.
“I have a friend who is a teetotaler but for the first time she drank vodka and now she fainted,” said Yong-Sun with worry.
“She?” teased Seung.
“Yes, she,” shouted Yong-Sun.
“Is she your crush?” asked Seung.
“Focus, Seungie, focus.”
“Oh sorry, right, patient first. So, there is nothing to worry about. It happens sometimes and that too when someone drinks a drink for the first time. Her body is not accustomed to alcohol so she had such a reaction,” explained Sueng.
“What should I do, should I bring her to the hospital?” asked Yong-Sun.
“Why don’t you want to bring her to the hospital?” Seung understood his friend’s concern.
“She is famous and I don’t want people to know about it.”
“Well, then get her to your home, I will bring a banana bag for her,” said Seung.
“Why?”
“Hydration helps best with hangovers and electrolytes in a banana bag will help her. When the alcohol content gets less in her system she will feel fine,” said Seung.
“Good idea. Come to my house in an hour,” said Yong-Sun.
“An hour?”
“Yeah, I am driving and it will take me time to get to my house,” said Yong-Sun.
“Okay fine. See you there,” said Seung and he disconnected the phone.
Meanwhile at the resort after watching Yong-Sun drive away, Vidhi fell to her knees. She sobbed, “my daughter!” Everyone’s heart broke after seeing her crying. Young-Soo immediately came running to her. He knelt down, hugged her and helped her get up. She wrapped her arms around Young-Soo and kept sobbing. Hae-Won patted her back with worry.
“She is okay. Yongsuna is with her, don’t worry,” said Young-Soo with all the calmness he could find. He had to take care of Vidhi now and then worry about Ashma. He knew Yong-Sun will take good care of her.
“She was fine in India. The day she came back she is going to the hospital. Why your dad is adamant about hurting her?” cried Vidhi.
“I am sorry on his behalf,” apologised Young-Soo.
“My daughter!” sobbed and sniffled and cried Vidhi.
“Our daughter,” Young-Soo corrected her. She smiled at the back of her mind. Her plan was working. She was again in Young-Soo’s arms that too in front of everyone and no one objected, not even Young-Jae. The person who snatched Young-Soo away from her was the reason they were getting closer day by day.
She knew that Ashma was alright, she never drank that’s why she fainted. She was happy that this gave her another opportunity to get close to Young-Soo.
Vidhi hugged him tightly. Eun-Kyung again was looking at them. But she knew Vidhi was in distress and Young-Soo was just consoling her. Nothing was going on between both of them. But the recent closeness of theirs was causing a little jealousy in her.
She knew that Vidhi was his first and only love. He married her but he always loved Vidhi. Nowadays her insecurity was increasing as she kept thinking that Young-Soo was ready to leave her for Vidhi. The first love will always be special for everyone.
She understood where both were coming from but was a long time ago. Now both of them had separate lives. The only common factor, Ashma wanted nothing to do with her father. She just came to meet him because of Bong-Cha’s lies and to make sure that Vidhi meets with her lover for the last time. Even though she heard that her father was dying, she never wanted to know anything about him.
Maybe she was thinking too much. Maybe she was seeing things that were not there. Now, she had to think about Ashma and not her father and mother. Her child was in trouble and she had to think about her.
She immediately called up Yong-Sun and put the phone on speaker.
“Where are you taking her, Yongsuna?” asked Eun-Kyung. Everyone came close to her. The distress and tension were written on everyone’s faces.
“Gomo! I talked to Seungie, he said that he will give her an IV and she will be okay. No one must recognise her so I am not taking her to the hospital. My house is closer to his hospital so I am taking her there. You guys don’t have to worry. I will bring her back tomorrow. Please don’t worry she is fine. She is sleeping it off,” informed Yong-Sun.
“Are you sure?” asked Eun-Kyung.
“Yes, Gomo.”
“Okay, take care of her till I reach home,” said Hei-Ran.
“Yes, uhmma.”
