To Be or Not To Be A Family - Chapter 85
Yong-Sun looked up and there she was standing in red Hanbok looking like a princess. His heart skipped a beat. He gasped as she looked at her. The wind was knocked out of his chest. He rubbed his chest to ease the breathing process. He couldn’t even blink. He didn’t want to miss even a second of her beauty. She looked beautiful in her pantsuit but it was impossible to take eyes off her in hanbok.
Bong-Cha was pulling her along with her. When she was on the stairs it was easy to look at her but when she came down she was surrounded by people and his line of sight was obscured. He went into Baek-Hyeon’s room, brought his guitar, crossed around the room and stood at the place from where she was clearly visible. Little did he know that Young-Mi was standing next to him.
Then Young-Jae cut the cake. Everyone sang Happy birthday while he played the tune on his guitar. Ashma smiled at him and looked impressed. This made him extremely happy. Young-Jae gave a piece to every family member and lastly, he fed Ashma. She was looking too cute while eating a big piece of cake. They both were smiling at each other but he knew that they were throwing daggers at each other with their eyes. He smiled at Ashma.
It was the same morning she rejected his advances but they both worked together while hitting Won-Shik. They both understood what the other was doing and helped each other in the situation. He was too angry at Won-Shik for playing such a stupid prank with her. Dousing her in blood was not funny nor good.
He was still staring at Ashma. She looked at him, her smile changed into distress. She was happy a moment ago and suddenly her expressions changed. He was shocked. “What kind of change is that? She was happy a moment ago, what happened to her?” He looked around, he was surprised to see that he was standing next to Young-Mi.
Immediately, he understood the reason for her sadness and distress. She was sad when she saw him kissing Young-Mi and again she was in anguish as she saw him standing next to Young-Mi. he smiled at her jealousy. He knew what he had to do. He had to be near Young-Mi to make her jealous, then she will realise what she felt for him.
“Pyo-ssi, please take the cake away and get the dinner ready,” said Eun-Kyung.
“Now that the cake is out of the way, let’s play some music and dance,” announced Bong-Cha. “Harabuhji!” Bong-Cha presented her hands to Young-Jae. He took her hand and they were the first ones to go on the dance floor. Baek-Hyeon became the DJ and played the song. Slowly all the guests started coming to the dance floor and started dancing.
No matter where Yong-Sun was he could not take his eyes off of Ashma. Her long, straight hair was adding to her beauty. The free-flowing hair looked gorgeous. He wanted to run his fingers in her hair.
Ashma knew that Yong-Sun didn’t like Young-Mi, he told her himself but she could not stop herself from feeling jealous. She wanted to run to them and push them apart. They were standing too close as per her comfortability. She wanted to snatch Yong-Sun away from her.
“What? Why am I feeling like this? Why suddenly do I want a glass of water? Why can’t I see him with anyone else? It’s his life he can do whatever he wants, you don’t own him. You didn’t want any relationship with him then why are you feeling this pain when he is with someone else? Take a deep breath Ashma and grow up. His life, his choice,” thought Ashma.
Meanwhile, Vidhi took the chance and asked Young-Soo to dance with her. Young-Soo obliged. Vidhi placed her hand on his shoulder and Young-Soo grabbed her waist with one hand and her hand with another. They slowly moved their feet on the music. Eun-Kyung clenched her fists but controlled her anger.
“What the hell does she thinks she is doing? Why is she dancing with mu husband? What is she trying to prove? He loves me now, why is she trying to come between us? Is she not thinking about her daughter? How will she react if I tell her what her mother is doing?” pondered Eun-Kyung.
Ashma who was busy staring at Yong-Sun was distracted by her mother. The silver vixen was looking stunning in lilac and white hanbok. No matter she was old, she was still gorgeous. Young-Soo kept looking at her with a sweet smile on his face. The old memories started flashing before his eyes and love appeared in his eyes. Ashma didn’t like this at all.
She was already angry at Yong-Sun for standing near Young-Mi and now she was angry at her mother and Young-Soo. She found this relationship creepy. Both had kids and one was married to someone else. No matter they were in love ages ago but now, their lives were very different.
She reached Eun-Kyung and asked, “why aren’t you dancing?”
“Huh,” said Eun-Kyung and looked at Ashma. Eun-Kyung who was too busy staring at Vidhi and feeling angry came back from her thoughts.
“Why aren’t you dancing?” shouted Ashma.
“He is dancing with her,” Eun-Kyung pointed at Vidhi.
“So what? I don’t want him dancing with her. Go get your husband,” scolded Ashma.
“He is your mother’s love,” pointed out Eun-Kyung.
“Eww… why are you saying that?” yelled Ashma. “He is your husband. He is no one to my mom now, go… get… your… husband,” Ashma pushed Eun-Kyung towards Young-Soo.
“How?”
“Oh, right.” She rubbed her chin and thought for a minute. Her eyes fell on Pan Jung. “Hmm… Mr Pan!”
“Yes, ma’am,” Pan Jung came near Ashma and Eun-Kyung.
“Please don’t call me ma’am, call me Ashma,” said Ashma.
“Yes, Ashma.”
“How would you like to give the opportunity to Ms Park to dance with Mr Park?” asked Ashma.
“It will be my pleasure, but how?” inquired Pan Jung.
“Ask my mother to dance with you, simple,” suggested Ashma.
“Ohh,” exclaimed Pan Jung.
“Please,” pleaded Ashma.
“I will try.”
“Thank you,” Ashma expressed her gratitude. Pan Jung moved towards Young-Soo and Vidhi.
Eun-Kyung looked at Ashma who was smirking at Vidhi and Young-Soo. “You hate him that much?”
“What? No, I don’t hate him. I just don’t want something to ignite that spark that was between them. If that happens I don’t know what I will do,” said Ashma.
“Why?”
“I want my mother to be happy, but I don’t want my mumma to be sad and why does he get to chose. He is no one. You both are strong, independent women, dump him,” suggested Ashma.
“Shut up!” teased Eun-Kyung and started laughing at Ashma’s suggestions.
“At least you are laughing.”
“You can make me smile, always.” Eun-Kyung hugged Ashma with all the love she could muster. At least someone was on her side. Her child was on her side, now she could fight with the world.
The moment Pan Jung separated Young-Soo and Vidhi, ashma shouted, “he is dancing with mom, now go dance with your husband.”
“My husband is your father,” whispered Eun-Kyung.
“Shh.. people can hear you,” said Ashma.
Eun-Kyung smiled at her and moved to the dance floor. She asked Young-Soo to dance with her and he happily obliged. She sighed with relief and smiled at Eun-Kyung.
One mission was successful, now she had another one. She had to make sure Yong-Sun remains away from Young-Mi. she didn’t know why, but she had to do that. She looked at Yong-Sun. To her surprise, he was not standing in his position. No one was standing in his position. She looked around for him. She could not spot him.
Her eyes moved towards the dance floor. Her heart stopped. She gasped with surprise. Her mouth was open with shock. She took deep breaths to calm herself down but none of it worked. She was on the verge of crying. Yong-Sun was dancing with Young-Mi. She was happily moving in his arms. He kept glancing at her to see her reaction.
The moment his eyes fell on her his heart broke. Her eyes were red and wet. Her mouth was open and she was breathing heavily. A second ago, she was talking to Eun-Kyung happily and the next she was staring at him and was about to cry. He never wanted to be the reason for her crying.
She blew a big puff of air from her mouth, controlled her tears and ran to a room on the ground floor. He saw her running away hiding her tears. He licked his lips and gulped hard. He knew he made her cry by dancing with Young-Mi like the last time she cried after seeing both of them kiss. But when she wanted nothing to do with him, why was she crying?
Which meant that she must have felt something for him but was hiding her feeling. Why was she hiding her feelings? He was in love with her, what if she too was in love with him? He had to find out. He had to talk to her.
“Excuse me!” he said to Young-Mi, left her on the dance floor alone and followed Ashma.. She moved towards Baek-Hyeon’s room and closed the door.
