Top Star: Journey To Become A Global Star - Chapter 259
Chapter 259. Reflection (1)
It’s been two days since Ren had gone to meet with Na Wen and every time was still the same.
It can even be said that the atmosphere on the set was worsening.
The fight between Director Chen Pu, Wheel words production and Na Wen’s agency was getting more and more fierce.
Wheel works production had even lost the hope of compromising between the two parties. The last resort was to cancel the contract of Na Wen.
There were even rumours that Wheel works production has started to look for another actor to play the role of Xu Tingsheng.
People were also saying that the overall cost of «Slayers» will decrease.
The amount which was going to be spent in advertis.e.m.e.nts and TV promotions would also be cut down to half.
As all of this was happening, the main reason behind this whole fiasco, Na Wen was not even able to sleep properly.
It was not because he was worried about the whole feud going online and offline.
It was because of another reason.
‘I don’t think you understand your character.’
The words which Ren had said, at the end of their conversation, were still in his mind. He can’t stop himself from thinking about them.
That’s why, Na Wen kept tossing and turning around in bed. He tried to sleep but as soon as he closed his eyes, Ren’s words would resound in his mind.
“Why can’t I sleep?”
Na Wen muttered as he stood up from under his blanket, then he brought out his phone and opened up the screenplay.
It was the screenplay of «Slayers».
‘Let’s see if his words are true or not.’
He didn’t want to think about the conversation he had with Ren but he couldn’t stop himself from thinking about it.
The only way to stop it was to see if Ren’s words were right or wrong.
Ren had told him that he didn’t understand his character well. Now, he wanted to know if he really didn’t understand Xu Tingsheng well.
Ren’s words have hurt his pride somehow.
That’s why, Na Wen started reading the screenplay of «Slayers». He started from the very first scene and kept reading it with great concentration.
From time to time, he would stop and read through a scene twice or even thrice.
He didn’t want to read it loosely this time. He even gave more attention to the scenes Ren had pointed out before.
Like that, he spent his entire night, reading through the whole screenplay.
‘What’s this….?’
Na Wen read the screenplay the whole night and he finally finished it in the morning. After finishing it, he realised one thing.
He was really wrong about Xu Tingsheng.
Na Wen had thought that he was playing the character of an ambitious crown prince but he was wrong.
Xu Tingsheng who had ambitions to rule the world was not ambitious at all.
‘It is strange but it is the truth.’
Na Wen shook his head as he realised how much of an idiot he was. He didn’t even understand the character he was playing.
Moreover, he had the audacity to be jealous of Ren.
‘What should I do now?’
After realising the truth, Na Wen was feeling guilty. The guilt in his heart was huge, especially when he looked at the people discussing the feud between him and Ren online.
People were scolding both him and Ren online.
“There’s no feud between me and Ren.”
He muttered as he looked at all those hateful comments. He was fine with people scolding him but Ren has not even done anything.
He was the only innocent person in all this.
‘The first thing I can do is to apologise.’
Na Wen quickly opened his SNS account. There was no activity on it for the last few days.
His account was untouched and even his agency hadn’t released anything about the reason behind the feud.
It has made the situation more complex.
‘It’s time to end this.’
He took a while to think about what he should write. The post in his SNS account would often be written by his manager.
So, he has to think about it before writing.
After a while, Na Wen finally began to type out his apology. He just wished that the whole feud would end with this.
* * *
“Damn that Na Wen!!”
“I hope he and his agency die.”
“We have to do so much work just because of him.”
Cries of sadness, despair and curses can be heard from the PR Team office in the Top star entertainment building.
They are the cries of the PR Team employee who had been working day and night for the last three days.
The amount of sleep they had got was less than 4 hours. They were even feeling like they were the employees from a black company.
It all started a week ago.
The PR Team was finally getting their paid holidays and it was even an overseas trip. They couldn’t help but be excited about it.
Everything was going well until the news of the feud surfaced online. It was unexpected news, which no one had prepared for.
It was sudden but it created another work for them.
Because of that, they even have to postpone their holidays and work day and night.
Most of the PR Team members had already cursed the 28 generations of Na Wen’s family, and they were still cursing.
“I wish I could strangle Na Wen!!”
Normally, in this situation, Director Kang would interject and stop them, but instead, she was cursing the most.
Being a workaholic doesn’t mean that she likes to work all the time. She also wants to enjoy some relaxing days on a beach.
But her holidays were snatched away from her. There was no reason for her to be calm about it.
“I wonder when this will end.”
One of the male employees said as he looked at his computer screen with sunken eyes. He was already tired from cursing, he just wanted it to end now.
It was not just him. Everyone in the room wanted it to end.
“What’s the reply from Na Wen’s agency?”
“Those bastards are not responding at all. The only reply we got was that they are discussing things with Wheel works production.”
Another employee cried out when he heard that.
“They are just stalling for time.”
“More than Na Wen and his agency, I wanted to curse the person who leaked the news and even involved Ren’s name in it.”
“We don’t have a way to find him.”
A female employee said as she sighed. She felt like she would faint anytime now.
The only reason she was alive was because of coffee. It was the same for other employees too. Coffee was keeping them away from sleep.
As the employees were thinking that the situation wouldn’t end, they suddenly heard the shout of an employee.
“Something big has happened!!”
They all looked towards the female employee who had said that. Their tired eyes were asking what had happened.
The female employee looked around the faces of the other employees and finally said.
“Na Wen had posted an apology.”
