Transcending Limits - 95 I wish....
“You’re gonna fight, right?” Leng Yue Yan turned to Sheng Tian beside, her voice contained a tinge of playfulness.
“Seriously, now.” Sheng Tian helplessly nodded and brandished his sword.
The sky was dark. They were travelling without a break.
The meadows and mountains were few and far away. The temperature started to drop. They knew what to expect—Frozen Lands and glaciers.
Now they’ve reached the border of the lush green lands and about to enter the Snow Region. At this moment, they encountered a pair of snow leopards.
‘I should control my mouth in the future. Else I will sell myself.’ Sheng Tian cursed.
Earlier, they encountered a pack of Iron bears, and Leng Yue Yan said he should be the one fighting. When he questioned weren’t they supposed to be partners, she shot back with with a glare “Didn’t you say you are pursuing me? If you can’t even give me protection, what meaning does your words have?”
Like a fallen general, he went to fight. The most painful thing to him was to watch her sit on the meadow and watch him fight. Her eyes shone with a mischievous glint, showing that she enjoyed what she did.
Fortunately Young Master Sheng is a man of control, so he let her get away with her little game. And another part of him did want her to have fun when she could.
At the present moment, Sheng Tian’s red sword shone in the night as it slashed through the wind heading for the Snow Leopards.
“Human, how dare you enter the periphery of the Beast Empire?!”an angry male voice sounded from the group of Leopards, halting his movements.
What surprised him was not the fact they could talk in human language, but the context of their speech.
The Beast Empire!
Excited, he withdrew his sword and said “Wonderful. How do I get to the Beast Empire? I believe we have some common interest to share.”
The Snow Leopard with dark blue fur was taken back. Though it’s cultivation was still at the peak of Earth Realm, it’s position in the Empire is not low due to it’s lineage.
In this expedition, it participated and killed countless humans and was about to return to the Beast Empire to report a peculiar news regarding the Imperishable Tree.
Who would’ve though that it would encounter Humans here.
The terms for the expedition in Frozen Hell stated that Elders of the Profound Beasts cannot attack or interfere with the young human participants in anyway.
Profound Beast Clans always mocked Humans for being treacherous and dishonest.
With their pride, they would never go back on their word and let an Elder interfere with the Expedition.
However, they are not completely stupid either. If a Peerless Young Human Cultivator sneaked into the Beast Empire and starts massacring innocent profound beasts, they would have no where to cry.
Thus, Since the advent of the Frozen Hell Adventure centuries ago, humans were prevented from entering the Beast Empire.
The Empire is fortified with impenetrable defense mechanisms for this exact purpose.
Sheng Tian raised an eyebrow sensing the silence in the air. With a buzzing sound, his sword—Scarlet of Blood, shone with an intense light emitting a bone chilling killing intent.
“Don’t take my politeness as weakness. If you are not gonna answer, you will die without a doubt.” His voice was emotionless and cold.
Leng Yue Yan walked to his side and stood next to him.
“Tsk. Truly, humans are such hideous creatures. To get what you want, you will beg. When you realise there is no benefit with someone, you would not hesitate to abandon them. Parents abandon their children…..” it didn’t get to finish its words as a bright red light danced in the silent night, ending its speech and life.
Blood splattered everywhere smearing the land with warm blood, painting the red clouds on the ground.
“Hiss…” cold gasps sounded from the pack of Snow Leopards, as their leader was unexpectedly killed in the blink of an eye without a chance to resist.
Leng Yue Yan also turned to Sheng Tian in shock. She found his hand trembling, and his eyes burning with killing intent.
“Are you….” Before she could ask him, he stepped forward and said to the Snow Leopards “Fuck your opinions. Tell me what I want or die.”
She realised where the problem lied.
‘Parents abandon their children.’ This was the one line that triggered his anger and ended the life of the creature.
Leng Yue Yan watched the Snow Leopards shivering but none of them answered. Sheng Tian’s smile turned colder, and she almost couldn’t recognise him when he killed them one by one.
Hearing to the pitiful squeals, she felt she didn’t understand him as much as she thought.
When he turned around, her body stiffened for a moment. She was not sure if this was the same person she talked and found interesting.
Her heart grew heavy.
“Why did you have to kill them when?” She asked, her voice was not cold, but held apprehension and blame.

Sheng Tian gave her a deep look and shrugged “What should I’ve done? Act like a kind person because I’m with a girl and do what I won’t do?”
“When they clearly said they won’t reveal, you should have let them go instead of killing them.” Her voice was a bit shaky, recalling the cold and emotionless face of Sheng Tian slaughtering the Snow leopards as if he was talking a hike.
Sheng Tian’s gazed deeply into her icy blue pupils. He walked to her, sit her down at the bank of a lake nearby and sat down beside her.
Leng Yue Yan waited for his explanation. She really wanted, no needed one to tell herself that Sheng Tian is not a cruel person. To tell herself that he is an interesting, brave person she believed him to be.
Looking at the fireflies above the lake in the deep night, Sheng Tian turned to the young woman beside him.
Under the moonlight, she looked like a Goddess. Leng Yue Yan was her name.
Not sure what to expect, Leng Yue Yan stared at him making no sound.
“You expected me to a kind person who would care about lives?” he said, as his signature carefree smile hung on his face.
Enthralled by his charm, yet baffled by his words, she nodded weakly.
“Then you see I’m not the kind person. In fact, I can be very cruel. I think I can kill everyone else for the one person I care about. I’m not a hero. I am the villain in the stories. Sorry.” He looked at the beautiful moon. It was gorgeous. It remained lofty in the sky, unreachable to mortals.
Then, he turned to the woman who was more beautiful than the moon. Was she also unreachable to him? His eyes showed deep melancholy as lips drew a sad smile.
Leng Yue Yan’s eyes grew misty. She didn’t know why she wanted to cry. Yet she couldn’t stop herself.
Two sparkling tears flowed down from her beautiful eyes. All she could say was “Sheng Tian, Why am I crying?”
The first time she called out his name, it was filled with an indescribable feeling. However, her veil was already wet from the torrent of tears.
Sheng Tian sighed. He reached out his hand to her face and seeing that she didn’t stop him, he gently wiped away her tears and removed her wet veil.
The face of an Immortal Beauty covered his view. The delicate thin eyebrows, enchanting icy blue pupils in those bright eyes, her blue hair with an icy lustre, the thin nose and cold cherry lips; it was beyond what mortals could imagine.
‘Goddess’ he thought looking at her countenance.
This is the first time he saw her face, and he couldn’t help but caress her cheeks softly.
“You didn’t want me to a cruel person. You hate people who kill without no reason. And by your values, you should hate me. Your heart couldn’t accept the truth. Those tears are the declaration of its conflict.” He withdrew his hand and smiled at her.
In that gentle smile, she could only find honesty. The cold and cruel smile from earlier was no where to be seen. Was it the same person?!
Under the illumination of the Cold Moon’s reflection on the lake, the Ice Goddess intensely stared at him, as if to engrave his honest gentle smile deep into her memory.
“I will hate you if you reveal this. Then your plan of getting me to like you will fail. Why didn’t you think?” She said after a long time.
Her voice was cold, and beautiful like a song sung by the celestials.
Sheng Tian laughed and said “I would rather have you hate my true self rather than like my fake persona. If I did that, it is only going to hurt you ever lot more deeply in the long run.”
Leng Yue Yan gasped at his reason.
He winked at her and smiled craftily “You think it’s easy for me to think about it? I deserve a kiss for thinking for you.”
“Go to hell.” Leng Yue Yan glared at him.
“No one is liking anyone. You better stop your perverse thoughts. We are only friends.” She said with a serious expression, then added “I missed master and got emotional earlier. That’s right.” She nodded vigorously as if she wanted to convince him or maybe herself.
Sheng Tian could only nod at her actions but couldn’t help the smile on his face. He knew their smooth relationship definitely had a bump after today’s actions, but it would ultimately server to strengthen their relationship.
He looked at the moon, and said word by word “I wish we could stay like this forever.”
Leng Yue Yan looked at him blankly and gazed at the stars.
Sheng Tian’s heart felt a little pain.
He thought she didn’t love him yet. Probably she just liked him a bit. Like a crush.
There is a long way to go. But he will be honest with her and only give her the best.
If he hid his true personality and made her like him now, their relationship would not stand the test of time and tribulations.
When she realises the truth in the future, her heart will be frozen forever.
Sheng Tian has seen far too many people making this mistake and he made a vow to himself that he would never do the same!
What he didn’t know was not far in the future, it is those words he spoke that would decide his fate and hers.
