Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 12
Since most of the disciples gathered there to watch a good show, the news of Xia Hanzo’s defeat spread like wildfire and soon, everyone stared at Jiang Tian’s residence located near the center of commerce of the Outer Sect Disciples.
Just outside Jiang Tian’s house, numerous stalls established by disciples could be seen on the streets as they attracted curious gazes. However, Jiang Tian merely scoffed. The disciples ranked higher than the disciple that he defeated must’ve been disturbed by his defeat that they discreetly observed him.
No matter how much those disguised disciples probed, they found that their perception never managed to enter Jiang Tian’s residence. Blocked by a layer of hazy mist, they could only scratch their heads and silently retreat to report.
How could they possibly intrude upon the residence of the proclaimed Ghost Emperor of the past? Even though Jiang Tian lost most of his innate strength, his wisdom and the techniques that he honed for several decades still existed. With a mere thought on his end, no eyes can penetrate through his blockade.
Living in a modern world where the eyes of the government were everywhere, Jiang Tian had to learn petty techniques that could elude not only the eyes of the people but the technology itself.
Operating in a principle of traceless and noiseless along with a fighting style that ensured certain kill. Jiang Tian’s techniques were for killings and his movement techniques emphasized illusion and trickery.
Jiang Tian’s enemy often found themselves trapped in a labyrinth of illusions made from their inner demons before striking them down. His illusions were impeccable that he could conjure his own world and trap his enemies within it without their knowledge.
Comparing his current power to his peak, Jiang Tian wryly smiled, right now, the most that he could do was conjure some ghostly images and wrap his body with illusions to confuse his enemy. He still cannot manipulate their hearts.
Even so, Jiang Tian was confident that his current level was enough to topple everyone in the Outer Clan Region.
Their weakness made Jiang Tian uninterested, but that didn’t mean that he wouldn’t answer to any provocations sent in his way. Though it felt troublesome, the authority of the Emperor shall never be challenged. Jiang Tian welcomed those foolish challengers.
Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Jiang Tian’s eyes darted to the skies, seemingly waiting for something.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Deep footsteps rang out of the door followed by a fierce sound of someone breaking in. Jiang Tian knitted his eyebrows as he saw the approaching figure of Xia Bingyue who said, “What’s wrong with you?! Father and I have been waiting for you for the past two hours, why are you still here?! Didn’t I told you that we will be going to the Artificer’s Hall?!”
Jiang Tian saw the anger flashing through Xia Bingyue’s face and he revealed an awkward expression. Indeed, several days ago, Jiang Tian promised that he would go to the Artificer’s Hall, but his meditation for the first stage of the Ghost Emperor’s Scripture made him forget about this matter.
Nevertheless, it was his fault so he sincerely apologized.
Seeing the dispirited Jiang Tian, Xia Bingyue lifted a satisfied smile on her face, “It’s fine,” Her eyes glanced at the scattered cultivation manuals on the ground, “Since you were not wasting your time, I will forgive you this time…”
She covered herself with a thick robe and activated perception-blocking talismans before dragging Jiang Tian away. Xia Bingyue was quite famous throughout the entire Clan and if someone happen to see her bringing a young man with her towards a secluded place, rumors would fly one after another.
Jiang Tian lightly smiled and covered his body with a thin layer of transparent mist, preventing anyone from recognizing his features unless they were in close proximity.
When the two neared the Artificer’s Clan, Jiang Tian could feel the atmosphere changing into a tense and urgent one.
Several disciples could be seen running around with frantic faces, carrying with them numerous Enhancement and Forging materials.
“Did something happen?” Jiang Tian turned towards Xia Bingyue and asked. The former scrunched her eyebrows before saying,
“Those bastards from the Silent Monastery are gradually increasing the intensifity of the attacks while shortening the interval between their assaults. As you know, most of our Xia Clan Disciples walked on the path of Essence Cultivation, so without items and proper enhancement, we cannot possibly hold a candle to them. That’s why the Artificer’s Hall is this panicked.”
Jiang Tian knitted his eyebrows, “Why not cultivate on both paths?”
Xia Bingyue looked exasperated, “Did you even read the manuals that we gave to you? Cultivating both paths is nearly impossible and if one managed to do it, each breakthrough would require heavenly materials that could only be stumbled upon…”
“Such extensive use of materials, I bet not even the Empire can nurture a single Essence and Body Cultivator…”
Her words only deepened his doubts, “Why would it require that much resources when cultivating on a single path was that simple, why would the difficulty increase when cultivating the two paths at the same time?”
Xia Bingyue faced him, irritation visible on her face but she still patiently explained, “I never said that you cannot cultivate on both paths but that is only at the initial stages. Once you arrive at the Foundation Establishment, that’s where the real problem occurs.”
“At that point, either you stay on your current cultivation or continue on a single path…”
Jiang Tian asked once again, “And why do they have to do that?” He awkwardly scratched his head, the truth was, he never read those cultivation manuals since he thought that they would never contain information that could teach him anything, but now, he actually have to ask Xia Bingyue for the answer of his basic questions that every cultivator knew.
“You better listen well since after answering this question, I will never answer anything again.” Xia Bingyue harshly glared at him and Jiang Tian nodded his head with a smile.
“The Foundation Establishment Realm after the Essence Condensation Realm is the starting point of cultivation, only when one reached that point will one have the qualifications to called as an expert.”
“The Foundation Establishment Realm requires one to solidify the Essence that they gathered inside their dantian into a pillar that could only support a single path. So dividing the gathered Essence into the two paths meant that one’s cultivation would become stable and shaky.”
“And once a foundation crumbles?”
Xia Bingyue’s eyes flashed with a vicious light, “Death is the only outcome…” She then turned around and walked towards the Artificer’s Hall followed by Jiang Tian who fell into contemplation.
Upon arrival inside the Artificer’s Hall, Jiang Tian saw numerous weapons plastered on the walls. The weapon gave off a cold sheen and Jiang Tian could even feel their sharpness from afar.
“Intimidated? I can’t blame you, those works are the finest creations that the Artificer’s Hall ever made since their establishment. Each of those weapons are at least at the standard tier and can only be controlled by Core Formation Experts.”
Xia Bingyue transformed into a chatterbox again as she explained the history of the Artificer’s Hall and emphasized how mighty and creative their predecessors were.
“Established for several centuries but only managed to create three peak standard tier weapons, that doesn’t sound so formidable…” Jiang Tian mumbled under his breath. Xia Bingyue’s expression changed and she leaped to cover Jiang Tian’s mouth.
“Can you even shut your mouth and not attract any trouble?!” Jiang Tian’s muffled cries of astonishment echoed out and his eyebrows locked into a frown.
“Say that again, young man.”
An elderly-voice rang out behind them and Xia Bingyue’s expression blanced when she saw the source of the voice. Jiang Tian slipped out from Xia Bingyue’s hold and stared at the old man clad in the blue robes of the Xia Clan.
The old man looked as wrinkly as Gordon Ramsay. His face was tan and his arms looked stronger than a bull, an indication that he often lifted the hammer. Right now, this old man wore a sour expression as he stared at Jiang Tian’s direction.
“What do you mean, Senior?” Jiang Tian played dumb but he never expected the old man to react so furiously.
“Don’t play dumb! I heard the blasphemous words that you said earlier! How dare you disdain the name of our predecessors!” The immense mental and physical pressure that the old man felt these days made him irritable and easy to provoke.
A fierce tempest surged in the area as the old man rotated his cultivation base. Xia Bingyue spread his arms in a protective gesture before saying, “Please calm yourself, Elder Hanyi, Junior Brother Jiang Tian has just arrived several days ago and knew nothing about the state of the Clan and how mighty the Artificer’s Clan is.”
“Xia Guanyu’s daughter, Xia Bingyue was it?” Xia Hanyi mumbled and the strength of the tempest significantly lessened.
“I am honored that Senior remembers my name…” Xia Bingyue clasped her hands together in a respectful gesture. Jiang Tian merely stood there with indifference plastered on his face.
Xia Hanyi glanced at Jiang Tian, “Since you’re that young lad’s daughter, it would be bad for me to not give you any face. This matter is settled. However, that young man will be banned from the Artificer’s Hall for at least a year.”
Xia Hanyi declared his judgement, Xia Bingyue’s expression changed, as Essence Cultivators, the support of the Artificer’s Hall was necessary and being banned meant that their growth would be stumped. Recalling the matter of Jiang Tian’s Enhancement to her sword, Xia Bingyue took it from her Spatial Ring and hurled it over to Xia Hanyi
“The Soft Sword of Ice Cavern?” Xia Hanyi’s eyebrows locked, he didn’t understand Xia Bingyue’s intentions of handing her sword over to him. Does her action mean that she would sacrifice her sword just to lift the young man’s punishment?
That so-called Ice Empress would actually do such a thing? Highly unlikely!
Nevertheless, he received the sword from mid-air as he felt his arm sinking down. His expression immediately changed and he unsheathed the sword, revealing a cold brilliance that slightly decreased the temperature of the room.
Xia Hanyi’s amazement surfaced and as he infused his Spiritual Energy into the sword. His surprise turned into shock and reverence.
“To actually enhance a substandard tier weapon to the peak of the same tier, and even cleansing the pent up impurities within the sword at the same time. The person who enhanced this weapon should be quite formidable. If possible, I would like to meet him and exchange some pointers…” Xia Hanyi lightly chuckled and returned the sword back to Xia Bingyue.
The discovery of the sword’s enhanced capabiliies improved his mood. However, Xia Bingyue’s next words perplexed and excited him at the same time.
“As for that expert, Senior…In fact, you could actually meet him right now…” Xia Bingyue hesitated through her words as she took a sidelong glance at Jiang Tian who kept a composed smile on his face.
Xia Hanyi frowned, “What’s wrong? If you’re saying that I can meet him then just tell me where he is right now so we can exchange pointers. Maybe i can get some inspiration from him and improve my comprehension about Enhancement and Creation that would inevitably benefit the Clan…”
Xia Bingyue’s expression turned strange, “Well, Senior’s words is indeed right, but the expert that you’ve been looking for has been standing before you all this while…”
She pointed at Jiang Tian and at that moment. Xia Hanyi, a venerable Elder of the Artificer’s Hall threw away his dignity as his chin fell to the ground along with a queer cry from his throat that shook the earth.
“What?!”
