Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 22
Deep in the night, Xia Guanyu’s figure could be seen heading towards the direction of the Xia Clan’s forbidden hall where the Patriarch resided. Security was strict and even him, the Grand Elder had to follow security protocols.
Stuck on his left chest was the Xia Clan’s Token that shone in a cold and hazy light when illuminated with sunlight. Xia Guanyu maintained a smiling expression as he walked deeper within the restricted pavilion.
Soon, he arrived before a dual entry door made from thousand years old Oakwood. It was sturdy enough that it could withstand the attacks of Core Formation Experts for at least half an hour.
Flashing his token before the door, an unlocking sound rang out and he slightly pushed his palm outward.
Inside the chamber was a bed covered with curtains that blocked perception. Sitting cross-legged on the bed was a slender figure cultivating in peace.
“Oh, you’re here? Guanyu.” The slender figure spoke out and Xia Guanyu who heard the mellow, yet dignified voice couldn’t help but tremble as an intangible pressure pressed on his body. Wiping the sweat on his forehead, Xia Guanyu squeezed a smile and said.
“Patriarch, I have arrived to report that the force of the Silent Monastery had made their move. They pushed our forces at the entrance of the Mystic Realm and even killed dozens of our disciples…”
“So they have already made their move? It’s about time that they do that already. After all, there’s less than three months until that Mystic Realm opens.” The figure behind the curtains said in a nonchalant tone.
But the figure’s voice suddenly turned sharp and pensive: “Since they killed and injured my disciples, It would be inconceivable if I just let them go. Once you come out of here, announce that I will exit my seclusion once the Mystic Realm opens, tell those bastards at the Silent Monastery about it too.”
Xia Guanyu nodded his head in acknowledgement before turning awkward, “Patriarch, the Silent Monastery has also announced that their Matriarch would be coming out of seclusion to personally escort her disciples towards the Mystic Realm…”
When his words ended, the figure behind the curtains voiced out in irritation, “So she’s also coming out? Perhaps she already predicted my next course of actions…What a stubborn lass,”
“Also, Xia Guanyu! What’s going on with our disciples, why are they losing so miserably against those bald monks from the Silent Monastery?” The figure directed some anger towards Xia Guanyu and the latter bitterly smiled.
“Well, the Patriarch may also know about it, but those bald monkeys from the Silent Monastery trained their bodies to the peak, they could endure a volley of mystical techniques and their burst power is too fearsome for our disciples…”
His words caused the figure to snicker, “Haaah, what a joke! Even if they cannot burst those bastards down, they could still defeat them in a sustained fight, yet why are they engaging those bald bastards head-on?”
“About that, Patriarch…I think it’s because of the hot-bloodedness of our disciples…” Xia Guanyu replied and the figure snickered once again, “Yeah, that’s right, our disciples became too complacent, never thinking that there’s higher a mountain than them…Acting so arrogantly, one could say that they reaped what they sowed.”
Most that died in the Xia Clan were from the younger generation. Particularly, those Inner and Outer Clan Disciples that couldn’t control their temper and endure humiliation.
“It’s also because of this that our Xia Clan has toiled far too long at the bottom. If only a young man with similar talents like your daughter appeared in our Xia Clan, we would’ve prospered already…” The figure heaved a deep sigh and Xia Gaunyu did the same.
However, when he replayed the Patriarch’s words about a multi-talented young man inside the Xia Clan. For some reason, Jiang Tian’s face appeared in his mind as his expression flashed with epiphany.
“Yeah, that’s right! That young man!” Xia Guanyu’s excitement exploded and the figure behind the curtains frowned, causing him to deflate.
“Old geezer, what made you so excited that you acted like a kid?” The figure asked in curiosity and Xia Guanyu explained Jiang Tian’s situation and his immense talent regarding the Artificer Occupation.
He emphasized the fact that Jiang Tian enhanced an item without possessing control over Spiritual Energy and how his knowledge and wisdom were boundless.
“Since you’re endlessly praising this young man, could it be that you’re planning to match him with your daughter?” The figure teased and Xia Guanyu’s countenance reddened. Xia Bingyue was his treasure and sending her off to be taken care of another man was something that he didn’t want to happen.
Witnessing Xia Guanyu’s reddened and green expression, the figure lightly chuckled and said, “I’m just teasing you, with matters such as love, it is better to let nature take its course so that nothing tragic would happen like that day, several decades ago…”
The figure parted the curtains and Xia Guanyu once again laid his eyes on the strongest expert of the Xia Clan. The slender figure stood up and on the figure’s chest were mountainous peaks covered with the robes of the Xia Clan. She stretched her figure and stared at the skies while saying in a soft, yet intimidating voice.
“Are you really sure about this, Huang’er?”
Her eyes turned misty in melancholy and Xia Guanyu understood that his time inside the Patriarch’s chambers was over as he deeply bowed and exited.
Meanwhile, back at the Artificer’s Hall. Xia Hanyi’s expression looked dark, he abandoned his gentle and composed countenance as he glared daggers at anyone that greeted him at the hallway. Arriving at the outside, he sped towards the distant horizon and stared at a certain residence at the center of the Outer Clan Region.
Jiang Tian held the small piece of jet-black metal on his palm. His expression solemn as he stared at the rows of system notification before him.
[Phenex’s Inheritance 1/6]
[A part of an Ancient Inheritance, once the six pieces are gathered, the entrance to Phenex’s Inheritance Ground will open.]
“Phenex? Who is that?” Jiang Tian didn’t know anything about Phenex, but judging from the word Inheritance, he decided that he had to acquire such a precious item that could bestow him greater power than he currently possessed.
Of course, Jiang Tian knew that his decision was too hasty and risky. But when he heard Xia Hanyi’s words that he would never open his treasure chest once again, he knew that he had to act decisively if he wanted to have a chance for Phenex’s Inheritance.
Manipulating the darkness, Jiang Tian snatched the jet-black metal unbeknownst to Xia Hanyi.
Lifting it towards the light, Jiang Tian observed it up close, but before he could even start some intricate tests, a fierce voice of anger along with an aura of dominance enveloped his entire residence.
“Jiang Tian, come out here and confess to your crimes!”
