Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 23
Xia Hanyi’s voice shook the entire Outer Clan Region and every disciple who heard his voice stared at Jiang Tian’s residence with pity and schadenfreude.
“So the Madman Elder of the Artificer Hall has set on sights of that shameless bastard who only relies on his connection with the Grand Elder? This will definitely be a good show.”
Disciples opened their windows and stared at the Jiang Tian’s residence in expectations of a good show. Jiang Tian knitted his eyebrows, opening his doors, he assumed an innocent facade and said,
“Greetings, Elder Hanyi. May I know what’s the business of such an esteemed person like you for someone like me?” Jiang Tian cupped his hands and Xia Hanyi speechlessly stared at his respectful display.
His display made it so that Elder Hanyi couldn’t act so domineering against him if he still wanted to keep his face. Lightly coughing and suppressing his anger, Xia Hanyi descended and entered his residence with an amiable smile on his face.
“Wait, what? Just what did happen? I thought that the Madman Elder is angry at that shameless bastard…”
The disciples stared at the two in confusion as Xia Hanyi entered Jiang Tian’s residence. A dignified and respectful aura enveloped his body as he took his sandals as a sign of respect and went inside. However, as soon as the door closed, a blast of Spiritual Energy assaulted Jiang Tian’s figure as Jiang Tian staggered backward and spat a mouthful of blood.
“Now that there’s no one observing us. You better confess, are you the one that stole that piece of metal from the treasure chest?!” His words reverberated like thunder and created a booming noise that injured Jiang Tian’s ears.
Xia Hanyi ensured that any fluctuations won’t escape Jiang Tian’s residence so everyone outside his house didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary.
“Now, tell me the truth! Where’s the piece of metal that you stole from me earlier?!” Xia Hanyi shouted once again as blood dripped from Jiang Tian’s lips. Pushing his arms on the ground, he stood up and took a pitch-black metal from his robes and presented it over at Xia Hanyi.
“That’s indeed the one that you stole…” Upon laying his eyes on the metal, Xia Hanyi dissipated the pressure that assaulted Jiang Tian’s body and handed over a medicinal pill that the latter immediately consumed.
Xia Hanyi stared at Jiang Tian and said with a sly smile, “Let me guess, the reason why you stole this metal from me is because of the fact that you recognized it, right? I don’t know how you recognized this piece of metal that I could never identify, but there’s no likely reason other than that…”
Jiang Tian lightly smiled and said, “That’s indeed the case, Senior. That’s the reason why I stole that piece of metal…” His words were carefree and light. Xia Hanyi glanced at Jiang Tian with an incredulous gaze.
“Don’t you feel indignant that I attacked you, earlier? Why are you not angry at me?”
His words provoked laughter from Jiang Tian, “Why should I? In the first place, it’s my fault for being so presumptuous and it’s not like you won’t return that to me after you heard about what I discovered…”
“Hoooh, Interesting, so you’re saying that once I heard about the origins of this metal, I will return it back to you?” Amusement flashed through Xia Hanyi’s eyes and he gestured for Jiang Tian to continue.
“According to the books that i read regarding Ancient Heroes back in my homeland…” Jiang Tian seamlessly created some bullshit as he continued, “This piece of metal is a part of an Inheritance Key that would open the Sacred Grounds where the Ancient Powerhouse, Phenex placed his legacy towards those destined for it…”
“Phenex, you say?” Xia Hanyi frowned and fell into deep thought, “Ah, Phenex! The expert that fought at the War of the Gods several thousands of years ago?! Are you really sure that it’s his inheritance?” Xia Hanyi’s eyes shone in a zealous light and greedy light.
“Prove it! Prove to me that the piece of metal in your hands is indeed a part of Phenex’s Inheritance Key!” Xia Hanyi mumbled in a soft voice and reinforced the concealmeant around Jiang Tian’s residence, ensuring that no one could eavesdrop in their conversation.
Jiang Tian slightly smiled, “That’s easy, ” He lifted the piece of metal and stretched his finger out. Poking a certain area at the bottom of the metal. Jiang Tian infused his Spiritual Energy and an insignia of a dignified general momentarily flashed.
“Phenex’s Order Token! That’s indeed, Phenex’s Inheritance Key!” Xia Hanyi exclaimed in shock, he had read innumerable books in his entire lifetime which includes books about the ancient powerhouses that saved the world. It wasn’t strange that he knew a thing or two about the Ancient Hero, Phenex.
“However, why were you so sure that I’m not going to snatch it back from your hands?” Xia Hanyi lifted a cunning smile, “Something like Phenex’s Sacred Grounds is enough to tempt even an old geezer like me.” His eyes swept over Jiang Tian’s figure and observed him from head to toe, staring at him like a wolf sizing its prey.
“The Sacred Ground of an ancient powerhouse is surely something that cannot easily be discovered even with the keys for his inheritance. And since the Elder is already past his prime age, it would be better to hand it over to the younger generation, since they would have a better chance of discovering Phenex’s Sacred Grounds in their lifetime than the Elder…” Jiang Tian shrugged and casually explained.
Xia Hanyi laughed and smacked his head, “You brat! Isn’t that the same as saying that I’ll die soon?!”
Jiang Tian waved his hands, “Of course not! Why would I dare to say that Elder is growing old and is about to die?! That would be too presumptuous for me!”
“Okay, okay, enough with the jokes! Hand that piece of metal to me, I’ll keep it for now to study…” Xia Hanyi stretched his palm and Jiang Tian nonchalantly hurled it at the Elder, astonishing him.
“You…Are you not worried that I won’t return it to you?” He asked in curiosity.
“Worried? Why would I? In the first place, it’s the Elder’s Item so it’s up to you whether to give it to me or not and also, I don’t think that the Elder is still interested in aiming for the peak of cultivation.” Jiang Tian said in a carefree voice and Xia Hanyi boisterously laughed, “The more I talk to you, the more interesting you become…That’s right, I’ll be sure to return this to you once I’m finished with my inspections.” He turned his back towards Jiang Tian and exited his residence.
Xia Hanyi transformed into a beam of light that shot towards the distant horizon. A small smile lifted on his lips as he mumbled, “I’m indeed growing old, I lost the competetive spirit that I had when I was still young…That youngster, Jiang Tian, accurately deduced my heart…”
Jiang Tian stretched his exhausted body and yawned. Walking towards his bedroom, his door suddenly exploded into pieces as the worried expression of Xia Bingyue appeared before his line of sight.
“You…Did Elder Hanyi do anything to you?” Her voice was stern, yet Jiang Tian could feel the worry laced within her voice as Jiang Tian replied with a joking tone, “Could you not destroy the door?”
His words struck an epiphany within Xia Bingyue’s mind as she furiously blushed and stood there like a frozen statue.
