Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 27
“I would have to extend my apologies to Senior…” Jiang Tian clasped his hands together and deeply bowed.
Xia Guanyu knitted his eyebrows and Xia Bingyue was taken aback.
“What do you mean by that apology? Are you saying that you’re not gonna make a choice?” Xia Guanyu’s booming voice reverberated throughout the entire room. The soundwave of his voice alone turned the table before him into dust.
“Senior, I am someone that believes on the ambitions of the commoners. Those without backing relied on themselves and tried their best on carving their own path. Even without the nourishment of their clans or the support of anyone. They relentlessly defied the heavens and made breakthroughs after breakthroughs. Eventually establishing their own influence.”
“I’m also someone like them, Senior. Though I know that with the Xia Clan’s resources, I can quickly rise into power and it is also my desire to tap on those resources. However, I will never have myself tied down with an organization, marriage or a clan. I will live my life unfettered and my stay here in this clan wouldn’t last long as I would surely travel the world on my own.”
When Jiang Tian first arrived her, he longed of being supported by a clan so that he could get through the hardest initial stages of cultivation with ease. However, if something like marriage or contracts were involved, Jiang Tian would try and do his best to back out from such a deal, even if he paid a heavy price.
“I thank Miss Bingyue for her considerations and gifting upon me the Frozen Sovereign Manual Cultivation Method. However, my decision will remain firm. I will never change my surname or tie myself up in marriage.”
“If that’s what the Senior wants then I’m sorry that I disappointed Senior…”
Jiang Tian deeply bowed once again and he could feel the ragged breathing of Xia Guanyu. Xia Bingyue’s expression looked indescribable and an inexplicable sense of loss surged within her heart when he heard his declaration of celibacy.
Taking a deep breath, Xia Guanyu regained his composure and turned to look at Jiang Tian with complicated emotions within his eyes. If Jiang Tian agreed to marry into the Xia Clan. He would definitely push her daughter towards him and take such a hidden gem as his son-in-law. However, seeing Jiang Tian’s determination when he made his declaration.
He understood that his wish wasn’t possible, at the least right now.
With age comes wisdom and Xia Guanyu knew better than forcefully creating romance between two youngsters. Sighing in his heart, he decided to let nature take its course as he said with a wry smile on his face.
“Your conviction is strong and judging from your tone, it seems like I will not be able to change your mind so why waste my time? Seeing that you already made your decision, I will have you take up my request.” Xia Guanyu stared at him for a moment before continuing.
“For now, I want you to train yourself so that you can at least compare to an Early Stage Essence Condensation cultivator since that’s the minimum requirement in entering that Mystic Realm that would soon open in three months.”
Jiang Tian’s expression brightened. Ever since he heard that a Mystic Realm with vast concentrations of negative energies existed and was about to open. He had since formed schemes that could enable him to sneak inside the Mystic Realm. But now that he has an offical way to get inside, Why would he bother about schemes?
After exchangin some pleasantries, Xia Guanyu said his farewells and left with his indifferent and cold looking daughter that harbored indignance towards Jiang Tian. The latter who felt her emotions could only shake his head and focus himself on the task of achieving the highest realm that he could in the next three months.
Cold hazy light and a mist of negative energies floated in the air.
The Ghost Emperor Scripture and the Frozen Sovereign Manual simultaneously circulated in harmony with each other. For an average person, such strong concentration was impossible but for Jiang Tian who already achieved the realm of drawing the heavens with his left and drawing the earth with his hands. It wasn’t that hard.
Nevertheless, since Jiang Tian wished to walk on the path of body and essence cultivation, it would take him double the time an average person could reach the targeted realm. Madly rotating his cultivation base, the surrounding Spiritual Energy formed a vortex around his body with half becoming beams of frosty lights while the other dissipated into mist.
Both of his cultivation methods were at the Early Stage of Essence Scavenger Realm and he slowly increased them with absorption of Spiritual Energy. However, unlike the scarce yet extremely pure Spiritual Energy back in Earth. The Spiritual Energy in this world were filled with impurities and Jiang Tian had to temper each and every thread of it before assimilating it as his own. Further increasing his cultivation time.
“How troublesome…” Jiang Tian mumbled under his breath, a single cycle of Spiritual Energy absorption took quadruple the time that an average person would and this issue made him reveal a bitter smile.
Jiang Tian arranged his robe and stood up. He knew that in order to increase his cultivation. He had to enter that Mystic Realm before it officialy opens or else he may not achieve the necessary realm to survive in the bloody competition among juniors.
If Jiang Tian’s theory was right, a Mystic Realm should be an unstable independent pocket of space that an expert established at his peak. Inside such spaces were innumerable lucky chances along with dangers so it required ample preparation to survive.
Setting off away from his residence. Jiang Tian’s tracking skills and the memories that he had of Xia Bingyue enabled him to track where she went. As soon as Jiang Tian blended with the crowd, his habits kicked in and he subconsciously inhibited his presence and slowed down his breathing.
This habit was formed when Jiang Tian was hunted down by the Light Goddess when he accidentally stumbled upon her bedroom amidst his escape from the War Emperor’s henchmen. Since Jiang Tian was at the Light Goddess’s City and didn’t have any other routes of escape. He had to mingle with commoners and even formed habits that imitated them.
Nevertheless, it was only until a century passed by that the Light Goddess’s indignance dissipated and Jiang Tian was finally able to escape his commoner life and return to the main continent of advanced technologies where he initially lived.
Continuing his journey. Since Jiang Tian was frequently seen with the proclaimed Goddess of the Xia Clan. Xia BIngyue, Jiang Tian had to make sure that no one recognized him as his figure repeateadly hopped on dark alleyways and rooftops, mixing with the darkness and moving with absolute stealth in mind.
Like a ghost, he finally arrived before Xia Bingyue’s residence but before he could place a foot inside. His instincts warned him of imminent danger as a beam of light flew from a nearby wall and almost struck his body. If not for his quick actions, that beam of light would’ve turned his body into dust.
“What the hell…Is there even a need to cover a house with these much fortifications and formations?” Jiang Tian swept his gaze over the inconspicuous walls and saw faint traces of markings and spiritual energies that slowly dissipated into nothingness.
“What are you doing here? Jiang Tian?” Xia Bingyue’s displeased figure appeared before Jiang Tian’s eyes and Jiang Tian lifted his head to stare at the young maiden.
“Before I tell you my business, can you let me in first? What if someone sees us talking to each other before the gates of your residence…” Jiang Tian lightly laughed and Xia Bingyue hurriedly turned the formations that surrounded her home and invited Jiang Tian in.
“I won’t provide any tea, so be quick about your business…” Xia Bingyue suffused an indifferent expression with her arms crossed. Sitting before Jiang Tian. Her expression remained unperturbed and tranquil.
“Not serving any tea? Perhaps you don’t have any tea in the first place since I may be your first guest…” Jiang Tian teased and Xia Bingyue’s frown deepened. “If you came here for jokes then the door is open. You are free to leave…”
Jiang Tian revealed a wry smile in the face of Xia Bingyue’s coldness that could even freeze the heavens itself. Tapping his index finger on the table, Jiang Tian thought for a moment and said.
“Here you go again. If you can simmer down that cold facade of yours, who knows how many friends you’ll be able to get since you’re quite a gentle and thoughtful maiden inside…”
His words astonished Xia Bingyue and a part of her cold facade crumbled. Jiang Tian’s words struck close to her heart. However, she couldn’t be blamed for her attitude.
Because of her beauty and talent, most people that approached her, may it be male or female held ulterior motives in their hearts. The females would endlessly shower her with admirations while the males would ogle her body with their perverted eyes.
Despite Xia Bingyue’s efforts on acquiring true friends. Her towering status, beauty and talent intimidated her fellow disciples and in the end, she suffused a cold facade so that she could become someone befitting of her standing.
However, in her heart, Xia Bingyue desired to do the things that any average people could do such as mingling with the crowd, telling each other stories and experiencing the bittersweer journeys in life along with her trusted friends.
Sighing in her heart, she stared at Jiang Tian and felt that his mysteriousness didn’t lessen as time passed by. Instead, the more time she spent with him, the more mysterious he became.
“Is deconstructing people’s hearts one of your hobbies? If so, you have quite the bad taste…” Xia Bingyue maintained her facade and Jiang Tian sighed once again.
“This is the problem with talented beauties, no matter which place or world. Each and everyone of you really thinks too much about the opinions of other people. How about you follow your own heart for once and disregard the criticisms of others? I bet that would make you happier than you are right now…”
At this moment, Jiang Tian wore a frown on his face and faced Xia BIngyue with seriousness.
Xia Bingyue who saw his sudden transformation didn’t know what to react. She wanted to avert her gaze from Jiang Tian’s eyes but the latter had something that attracted her until she couldn’t help but stare right into his eyes that looked so deep and profound that it could see through anything in this world.
Moments later, Xia Bingyue returned from her trance and a crimson sheen decorated her cheeks. With a wrongful expression on her face, she looked at Jiang Tian with teary eyes and said.
“Can you seriously tell me your business instead of teasing me like this?” She said with a pleading tone and Jiang Tian lightly chuckled. Standing up, he stretched his body and approached Xia BIngyue with seriousness on his face.
Stretching his hand over her body. Xia Bingyue lightly exclaimed in shock as Jiang Tian’s hand deftly captured her waist and unhooked the sash that surrounded her robes.
Under embarrassment and surprise. Xia Bingyue’s cultivation base rotated to its fullest, sending a palm strike at Jiang Tian’s direction. Her attack struck nothing to her surprise and when she opened her eyes. Jiang Tian’s figure was nowhere to be seen along with her pouch that was full of her monthly allowance from the Clan.
