Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 29
The merchant’s expression twisted into different resplendent colors. Even the spectators who expected a good show couldn’t help but vomit blood as they witnessed Jiang Tian’s audacity on giving the merchant a pair of muddy flipflops.
“S-s-sir…Perhaps you’re mistaken, these things cannot possibly Artifacts…” The merchant maintained his dignified figure, but the crooked smile on his face indicated his struggle.
Jiang Tian knitted his eyebrows and said, “Just because it doesn’t look as shiny and as imposing at that armor, doesn’t mean that this isn’t an Artifact. Perhaps, this is even better than that armor!” His words reverberated throughout the entire area and the spectators madly laughed.
“Damn this kid is delusional! To think that the Xia Clan would take such a disciple, what a disgrace!”
“Pfft! I can’t take it anymore! This kid actually claimed that his pair of muddy and broken-down flipflops can compare to tha Armor of Ice Cavern…”
Laughters echoed out and the merchant lifted an eyebrow as he couldn’t finally take it anymore…
“Sir, I’m here for serious business, if you’re looking at me like i’m a joke then you’re free to go away…” If not for the fact that Jiang Tian was a disciple of the Xia Clan, he may have already pummeled him to the ground.
“So are you saying that you’re not going to believe me? Fine, as they all say, actions speak louder than words so I’ll just demonstrate how powerful these pair of flipflops are…” Jiang Tian lifted a cocky smile and the laughing spectators were all riled up.
“Kid, if those pair of flipflops are Artifacts, I’ll not only call you as my grandpa. I’ll also give you my entire life savings!”
“Hahaha, only your life savings? I would become his slave if that pair of flipflops created a miracle and became Artifacts…”
Waves of laughter erupted among the cultivators and commoners as they all stared at Jiang Tian as if they were looking at a joke. Jiang Tian merely swept his gaze over the people that staked their freedom and life savings.
With a will on his end, a thread of Spiritual Energy transmitted at his flipflops as it shone in a hazy and dreamy light. With a burst of cold air, Jiang Tian’s figure disappeared from his initial location and appeared behind those two spectators that staked their lives away earlier.
“Didn’t the two of you said that you’re gonna give me your life if these flipflops were Artifacts?” His cold voice rang like a ghost which startled everyone who looked forward to a good show. The men that staked earlier froze in fear and slowly craned their necks towards the source of the voice.
“K-k-kind sir…we never meant to disrespect you…Please forgive our mistakes…”
“Y-Yes sire, if we knew that you were that capable, even if we swallowed a Lion’s Heart, we would never have the guts to provoke you…”
Earlier, the two men and the surrounding spectators laughed out loud. But now, no one dared to laugh. Instead, they all stared at Jiang Tian with terrified lights within their eyes, including the merchant who underestimated him.
In the City of Frost, the Xia Clan reigned the strongest and each and everyone of their disciples could do anything that they wanted to for as long as it wasn’t so excessive.
Killing a few commoners and cultivators wasn’t considered as excessive given that they provoked him first. At most, Jiang Tian would only have to pay a fine and everything would be settled.
Jiang Tian understood this fact and he took maneuvers on taking advantage of it so that he could acquire the most amount of funds in the shortest time possible. He had to execute his plans before the Silent Monastery and the Xia Clan could take action.
“Well, I understand what you mean but since the two of you were the one that couldn’t see the higher mountain. The two of you better take responsibility and upheld your bet or else, I guarantee you that blood will definitely drip…”
Jiang Tian mumbled in a sinister voice and swept his gaze on the crowd around him, “Also, I have remembered those that laughed at me earlier. It’s no use even if you escape…” Jiang Tian warned those that tried sneaking away and they froze on their tracks, turning around with a bitter smile on their lips.
The merchant stared at these crowd of people with a look of schadenfreude until Jiang Tian said these words.
“What are you smiling there for? You’re also with them. I know that you didn’t take me seriously when I asked for a barter, right?” The merchant’s expression flashed with several colors and he had to swallow his words back in his stomach.
“Then, what do you want to do with us, sir? Even if you’re a disciple of the Xia Clan, I don’t think that you would fare well if you massacred us here…”
A young cultivator mustered his courage and spoke out, the people around him that heard his words became courageous as they directed a look of dissatisfaction at Jiang Tian’s direction.
“Yes, that’s right! Even if you’re a disciple of the Xia Clan, you must remember that you’re merely an Outer Sect Disciple! If you massacred us here, the Xia Clan will definitely cripple your foundation and make you their slave!”
Even the commoners followed suit and expressed their indignance towards Jiang Tian’s threats. The young cultivator who spoke earlier beamed with a small smile on his face, feeling proud of himself about the fact that he just went against a disciple of the Xia Clan.
The merchant also suffused an irritated expression and if a third party observed from the outside. They would think that Jiang Tian was about to be overwhelmed by the masses.
But of course, if Jiang Tian’s heart was that weak, he wouldn’t even be able to reach the doorsteps of the peak back in his world. Unfortunately for them, Jiang Tian was decisive enough as his Ghost Emperor Scripture rotated and lashed at those that incited this rebellion.
Puchi~
Three heads rolled on the ground followed by a dull thud as blood coursed like a river, staining the ground crimson as a rusty smell enveloped the air.
“A-a-a-aaahhh!!!”
Screams of terror reverberated throughout the entire City Square as the courageous commoners scattered in fear. The cultivators paled and they all circulated their Spiritual Energy in defense against Jiang Tian’s attack.
“Those that will dare to run will be chased after the Xia Clan! If you’re part of those that laughed at me earlier, then come back here and receive your proper punishment!” He shouted, his voice rang loud and clear causing those that ran out of fear earlier to return back at the encirclement that Jiang Tian made.
The merchant who fell on his butt stared at Jiang Tian as if he was a ghost in broad daylight and the others held the same expression.
All of them were afraid of the Xia Clan, but they were most afraid of unrestrained and ruthless disciples like Jiang Tian.
Sweeping his gaze over their bodies, Jiang Tian smirked when he understood that these men had completely succumbed to their fears. Now, it would be easy for him to deman whatever he wanted to.
“Those that laughed at me earlier shall leave Fifty Spirit Stones before leaving, as for the commoners, they shall leave a single gold coin…”
His words became a heavenly decree as the terrified cultivators and commoners ran towards their houses and crazily uncovered everything that they saved up for their future.
Despite the fact that Jiang Tian only asked for Fifty Spirit Stones, some cultivators offered him a hundred Spirit Stones while some of those commoners gave him five gold coins, equivalent to three years of hard labor.
Dismissing the relieved crowd, Jiang Tian collected his newly-acquired wealth and stared menacingly at the merchant who offered the Armor of Ice Cavern with a crooked smile on his face.
“S-s-sir…I’ll give you this for free…” He said, but his eyes widened in shock when Jiang Tian shook his head and approached him.
Dropping the armor on the ground, the merchant fell on his butt as Jiang Tian took off his Rattan Straw Flipflops and placed it before the merchant.
“People may say that I’m bullying everyone if I don’t give them anything in return. So here’s your enhanced Artifact, hope to see you again here…” Jiang Tian’s figure blurred as he dashed towards the direction of the Xia Clan’s Main Residence.
After several minutes of being in a trance. The merchant finally stood up and wore the Rattan Straw Flipflops that Jiang Tian exchanged for his Armor of Ice Cavern.
Depositing his remaining items, he activated the Artifact on his feet and ran as fast as he could towards North. Swearing that he would never return to this place and engraving the image of Jiang Tian in his heart.
