Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 56
Jiang Tian’s display of ruthlessness and decisiveness caught the eyes of the disciples who were in the middle of a battle against the disciples from the Silent Monastery. Witnessing the deaths of the three leaders, those from the Xia Clan roared loudly than before and their morale soared towards the skies.
Metals loudly clashed against metals and flesh, creating a scene that stained the gtound crimson and unveiled miserable shrieks after miserable shrieks.
The slaughter enacted by the Xia Clan Disciples was too one-sided and overwhelming that none managed to escape unscathed and those lucky ones were either crippled or severely injured with their limbs detached from their bodies.
Seeing the arrogant bastards from the Silent Monastery tuck their tails into their butts left everyone from the Xia Clan feel elated and satisfied. At the sametime, they couldn’t help but admire the Enhancement that Jiang Tian did to their weapons, as expected of the one that invented the Three Layered Armor, they all thought in their minds.
“Everyone, stop the pursuit! Anymore and we’ll enter the territory of the Silent Monastery and further escalate the ongoing war!” Jiang Tian warned and the disciples who went too deep into the joy of slaugher stiffened, staring begrudgingly at their enemies, they sheathed their weapons and returned to their fellow brothers.
“Many thanks, Junior brother. If not for your help, there’s no way that we could defeat those bald bastards from the Silent Monastery…”
“Definitely, you save our lives, Junior Brother. If we went here without your Enhancements then the current situation would be different…”
The disciples approached Jiang Tian and thanked him from the bottom of their hearts. With their cultivation bases, they could only serve as cannon fodders in the battlefield but due to the Enhancements that Jiang Tian did to their weapons and armors. They managed to bridge the gap between cultivation realms and fight against their enemies.
Jiang Tian merely smiled, “I did nothing but provide you guys the equipment necessary for the battle. All that happened after you received your weapons is your own doing. You have the right to be proud of your achievements.”
The disciples stared at him in astonishment and shock towards his humble words. At first, they thought that Jiang Tian would act conceited and make them do whatever he wanted to them. If that really happened, then they would’ve surrendered their weapons without any second thoughts. After all, it was much better to be free than to be someone else’s dog.
Xia Lei approached Jiang Tian from the side and said, “J-J-Junior Brother… The weapons that we used may have been ours but from the time that you enhanced it for us, it has long since became yours… Do you want us to…”
Jiang Tian predicted his thoughts and intervened, “Return it to me? That’s not a problem, the weapons were originally yours, what I did was merely develop and enhanced the latent potential of your weapons. In the end, it is still yours…”
All disciples that heard his words stared at him for a moment and said no more. Someone with Jiang Tian’s temperament required no verbal promises. But they still hung their heads low in submission, respect and gratitude. Some even prostrated on the ground and swore in their hearts that they would never let him down.
Xia Lei held back his emotions and steeled his heart. From the events that recently happened, all of them understood that Jiang Tian not only valued strength but also brotherhood. Recalling his pensive and angered expression when he heard the news of their injured brothers and sister, a warm and sour sensation surged in their hearts.
Following such a brother was a decision that they would never regret. Slowly but surely, the minds of these Outer Disciples became connected with a thread that ultimately attached itself on Jiang Tian. In their hearts and minds, Jiang Tian became a figure synonymous to a hero.
Jiang Tian swept his gaze across these disciples and sighed in his heart, he acquired his objective and managed to nurture his image inside the heart of these disciples so that they would obey his instructions without second thoughts. But of course, there were those that didn’t thoroughly trust Jiang Tian, as for them. Jiang Tian merely shrugged and didn’t blow their covers. Only when they prove to be an obstacle on his path will Jiang Tian decimate them.
Returning back to the Xia Clan, these disciples converged together and decided to give Jiang Tian the biggest and spacious tent that they had. Of course, Jiang Tian didn’t refuse and approved of their decision. Taking some of the damaged Artifacts of his fellow disciples, Jiang Tian repaired them and at the sametime, tallied the number of recovered Artifacts according to the degree of damage.
While Jiang Tian was in the middle of counting the Artifacts on his table, his figure stiffened and he darted his gaze outside the tent. Visually, not any movement could be seen but his instincts told him that someone was definitely out there. Sighing, he shrugged and disregarded the presence. As long as they do not stand on his way, he wouldn’t bother to think about them.
Outside the tent, an Outer Disciple silently stood with his front facing away. He craned his neck and furtively glanced at the tent as if he could see the insides. Crusing a jadeslip within his hands, a stream of information shot from his location towards the direction of the Inner Disciples at the frontlines.
The stream of information looked subtle and none of the disciples around him noticed his actions. Smiling, he slowly walked away and talked with his felllow brothers as if nothing happened.
Inside the tent, Jiang Tian finished the computation for the number of Artifacts that could be recovered and scrapped. Carrying them outside, several disciples walked up to him and helped him carry the items.
At the center, the Elder who was tasked to collect the Artifacts recovered from the battlefield stood there with a composed and indifferent expression on his face. His eyebrows locked when he realized that something was off on the expressions on the disciples around him.
Back then when he always visited, these disciples would stare at him warily and with worry laced within their eyes. But this time, they looked relaxed and calm, as if nothing significant would happen in his visit. Lightly smiling in amusement, the Elder crossed his arms together and saw the arrival of Jiang Tian along with several disciples.
“Disciple Xia Jin greets the Elder…”
“Disciple Xia Hui greets the Elder…”
“Disciple Jiang Tian greets the Elder…”
All three of them clasped their hands in respect and expressed their greetings. When the Elder heard Jiang Tian’s introduction, his eyebrow raised up as he said.
“Jiang Tian? You don’t have the surname Xia? An outside? Why are you here and why are you not using the Xia surname?” He asked in a curious voice.
“I am indeed an outsider, but I officially recognize myself as a disciple of the Xia Clan. I was allowed to keep my surname by the Grand Elder himself…” Jiang Tian replied with an indifferent tone and the Elder nodded his head.
“So you’re someone that the Grand Elder fancied? Hmmph, that old bastard really does everything by himself arbitrarily…” The Elder coldly snorted and darted his gaze at the Artifacts on their arms.
“Have all of you tallied the number of Artifacts that can be recovered and those that are to be scrapped?” He said and Jiang Tian stepped forward, nodding his head. He said, “We have indeed tallied the number of Artifacts, according to our counting, there are fifty Artifacts that could recovered while there are two hundred Artifacts that are severely damaged to the point that recovery is impossible.”
“I see, in that case, give me the Artifacts now and as per the rules that I established, each Artifact that could be recovered is worth a ten contribution points while those that are too damaged are worth 5 contribution points. The total is, one thousand five hundred contribution points. Evenly distributed within the two hundred and sixty five disciples means that each of you will get six contribution points each…”
His voice traveled far and reached the ears of every disciple. Upon hearing his announcement, Jiang Tian frowned when he noticed that his fellow brothers sighed in resignation and defeat. Staring at the Elder, his mind spun fast and he remembered a certain rule that Xia Lei indulged into him when he was showing him around the area.
“Excuse me for the interruption, respected Elder but isn’t your calculations wrong?” Jiang Tian stepped forward and said his concerns. The disciple who stood at his side stared at him in astonishment. Ever since that Elder arrived and became the man who collected the Artifacts, they have suffered too much yet they never dared to rebel.
After all, just a single accusation from the Elder could definitely end not only their career but also their lives. Though the Xia Clan was lenient to their disciples when it comes to punishments. If a disciple was condemned as a rebel then capital punishment would ensue.
The Elder raised an eyebrow and stared at Jiang Tian’s figure for a moment and said, “A mere outside dares to stand up and say that what I am doing is wrong? Look at me, brat…” His cultivation base slightly rotated and both of his arms went for Jiang Tian’s collar, raising him up to the skies, he looked all mighty and dignified as he declared.
“Don’t you dare speak to me like that, outsider… Just because the Grand Elder fancied you doesn’t mean that he believes your worth. If not, why would he place you here among these failures?” The Elder snickered and the disciples who heard his words revealed angry expression as they silently unsheathed their weapons.
Their figures intermittently trembled as violent internal struggles ensued within their minds, their hearts told them to attack and save their benefactor from the humiliation yet their minds told them that doing it meant their doom. Once the Elder counter-attacked and accused them of rebellion, their lives could be considered as forfeit.
Xia Lei bit his lower lip until it bled, his hands dug deep into his palms and his expression looked reddened in anger and hesitation. His eyes sparkled with the light of murder and he slowly steeled his resolve. Bending his knees, he stared at Jiang Tian’s direction and solemnly said in a low voice amidst his gnashed teeth.
“Just wait there, Junior Brother… This Senior Brother will save you from the hands of that despicable bastard!”
With Jiang Tian’s heightened senses, he discovered that each and everyone of the disciples wore same expressions on their faces. Marked with hatred and indignance, Jiang Tian finally realized that even though the Xia Clan looked harmonious and peaceful on the outside, corruption still festered among the higher echelons.
Sighing, he thought: “No matter where in the world or what world in the universe I am in, corruption really is everywhere… Not even that Xia Xingyue managed to see through the hearts of her subordinates, she really is such a naive woman…”
Taking a small token from his robes that Xia Guanyu bestowed unto him as protection. Jiang Tian sighed and revealed it in front of the arrogant Elder whose eyes widened like saucers.
“T-T-That’s the Grand Elder’s Authority Token!” He screamed out loud like a pig being butchered, his screech attracted the curious gazes of the disciples who stared at the Elder with stunned lights within their eyes.
“Oh, so you recognize this token? According to the Grand Elder, no matter who they are as long as they are not the Patriarch, they must kneel before the Token when they see it, so what are you still doing standing there? Are you implying that you’re gonna rebel against the Grand Elder’s orders?”
Jiang Tian casually declared and the Elder’s face went purple and green. Gnashing his teeth and amidst the stunned gazes of the crowd, he clasped his hands together and fiercely slammed his knees on the ground and declared in a solemn and respectful tone.
“This one greets the holder of the Authority Token!”
