Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 6
Conflicts over finite resources frequently occur between influences.
The Xia Clan backed by the Stellar Academy and the Silent Monastery backed by the Divine Fate Academy waged several years of war for the sake of acquiring the upper-hand and letting everyone know the strongest between the two.
Of course, the reason why such a status quota was maintained between the two academies was that they wanted to temper their disciples with battles, a strong but inexperienced cultivator could easily be fooled by a weak and experienced one.
Today, another skirmish happened between the two influences. Inside the Wilderness at the Southern Area of the Xia Clan, about fifty kilometers away from the Clan Residence, both sides suffered numerous casualties, but the Xia Clan had it worse.
There were two types of cultivators in this world, those who cultivate the Spirit and those who cultivate the body.
Cultivation of the Spirit or Essence only requires comprehension and a steadfast heart to understand the laws of the Heaven and Earth while cultivation of the body requires a strong willpower and a determined mind to press on so that one could endure the heart-wrenching pain that accompanied body cultivation.
It was frequently debated whether Essence Cultivators were stronger than Body Cultivators. However, one thing was for sure, once a Body Cultivator engaged an Essence Cultivator in close-combat quarters. Essence Cultivators would most likely be defeated.
That was the reason why the cultivators of the Xia Clan whose members cultivated the essence looked miserable and wretched before the body cultivators of the Silent Monastery.
Though they have the advantage in firepower, the cultivators from the Silent Monastery could easily burst them down. With their tempered physique, they punch harder and ran faster. They could even endure the attacks of the Xia Clan Members with just their body alone.
Such disparity made the members of the Xia Clan feel despair, and in the past several days, they kept their retreat, hoping that they managed to shake off the bastards from the Silent Monastery.
Hiding inside a small gap between rocks, several members of the Xia Clan could be seen clad in the blue robes of their Clan. Their expressions pale and exhaustion painted on their faces. The several days of pursuit from the members of the Silent Monastery burdened their hearts.
“Hang in there, Junior Sister, I will definitely get you guys to safety…” A young man whose visual appearance looked to be at his late teenage years. Judging from the light of reverence within his fellow disciples’ eyes, and his vigorous cultivation base, this young man was the squad leader of this bunch.
Pain flashed through his face when he saw the struggling and enduring look of his junior sister. Laying on the side was a young woman clad in the same robes as him, the only difference was a small hole could be seen at her chest.
Beside her, was a young woman that endlessly cried on her abdomen. The sounds of muffled sobbing dimmed the atmosphere and lowered the morale of the remaining disciples.
“Why did you do that for me, Xinyi?!”
She complained and dripped all the tears that she could cry onto her abdomen. However, no response echoed out from her best friend’s mouth and she was only met with complete silence from the remaining disciples.
All of them hung their heads low, as cultivators, they had their own pride and walked out of the Xia Clan with complete confidence that they could crush those bastards from the Silent Monastery. But the complete opposite happened, not only they had to miserably retreat, but they also suffered numerous casualties.
They didn’t have any medicinal pills anymore. Everyone predicted that without the help of medicinal pills, their junior sister would definitely die within the next several hours.
“Damn it!”
The young man slammed his fist on the wall, causing chunks of rocks to fall on the ground. Gnashing his teeth in his powerlessness, he thought that if he didn’t act as arrogantly as he did before they went out of the Clan and heeded the advice of the elders and brought more medicines that they could, they wouldn’t be so miserable right now.
“Bastards from the Xia Clan! Come out here and face your death!”
A fierce voice echoed out from the outside the complexions of the disciples from the Xia Clan went pale. They didn’t expect that the members of the Silent Monastery would discover them so soon.
“It’s useless to try and hide from us, don’t you remember that I injured one of your so-called Junior Sister? What a pity, if she wasn’t so stupid as to actually jump at the trajectory of my attack, I wouldn’t have to stain my hands with the blood of a precious flower…”
The voice sounded arrogant and sarcastic. Each of his words pierced through the hearts of everyone inside the small ridge. The best friend of the injured young woman stood up with menacing eyes.
“Hey, calm down! Don’t go there!”
Amidst the astonished gazes and cries from her fellow disciples. She unsheathed her sword and walked out of the small ridge. The leader of the group clicked his tongue and followed after her, and so did his fellow disciples.
Wielding their swords, they went out of the small ridge and left the injured young woman behind.
There were only three members of the Silent Monastery that greeted them outside, but judging from the energy fluctuations that they emanated, the disciples from the Xia Clan understood that they would never be able to defeat them in a head-on battle.
The young man gritted his teeth, he could defeat at least two of these three but he would be greatly exhausted afterward, enough that the remaining member of the three could easily crush him under his feet.
His gaze swept over his fellow disciples and found that all of them had weakened auras. Clicking his tongue, he realized that even if he could take down two of these three, the remaining one could still easily annihilate them.
Not only that, but they also had to protect the small entrance behind them so there’s no other choice but a close quarter combat.
And a close quarter combat against a Body Cultivator as an Essence Cultivator? The young man didn’t even dare to imagine the consequences of such a foolish choice.
Beaded sweats filled on his forehead as he faced the menacing gazes of his enemies. He treated his life as incomparably precious and he had to think fast.
He knew that if he attempted to escape with everything that he had, no one would be able to stop him but once he did that, he would forever be branded as a coward and would most certainly get expelled from the Xia Clan.
“What’s wrong, What’s wrong? Why do you guys look so pale as if you’ve seen a ghost in broad daylight? Don’t be so scared, I’m just here to chat, that’s all…” A bald-headed young man clad in orange robes crossed his arms together and sneered. His sarcastic remarks ignited the eyes of his two comrades.
“That’s right, don’t be so scared…Look at you guys, all of you are trembling like a sieve, you need to calm down as soon as possible or else you may suffer a heart attack…”
“Hoooh, why do I feel like you’re hiding something behind that small entrance? Could it be that there’s a treasure there that you guys are so desperate to protect? Or could it be that…”
The three bald young men simultaneously glared, “The injured flower is there?!”
Their sudden glare terrified the disciples and they fell on their butts, those with weak hearts fainted and the best friend of the injured Xinyi glared back with a gaze full of hatred.
A fierce tempest sprung up and the three bald youths laugh out loud, “Since we’re from a place where compassion is prioritized, we will end your lives as fast and as painless as we can so just stay there and wait for your deaths, okay?”
They even blinked as the sneering smiles on their faces intensified when they thought about the rewards that they could acquire from the Silent Monastery after collecting these many Xia Clan Tokens.
“Dieee!!!”
The young woman rotated her cultivation base and dashed towards the tempest, attacking it with a downward slash.
“Futile!”
Clang!
Her body flew backward and struck a boulder, crushing it into pieces. Her sword disappeared into the Wilderness and the leader of the disciples from the Xia Clan stared at this scene while gritting his teeth.
“What should I do? What should I do? Should I attack or flee?”
His mind madly spun and it was at that moment that a soft pleading voice echoed out from the throat of the defeated young man.
“Senior Brother…Avenge us…” She uttered before losing her consciousness.
The young man tightly clenched his fists and rotated his cultivation base. However, as soon as he ignited his strength, the momentum gathered by the three youths directly assaulted his heart as the three of them glared at him with intense killing intent.
The young man’s frail heart collapsed, his sword fell on the ground and he quickly turned tail amidst the astonished gazes of his fellow disciples.
“S-Senior brother?”
All of them muttered under their breath. The Senior Brother whom they admired, mercilessly abandoned them for the sake of preserving his own life.
“Are we going to die here…?”
They thought in their hearts.
The gathering momentum of the three young men reached its peak and the tempest that surrounded their body pricked the skins of the defeated disciples.
“It’s time for the end, remember the name of the one who sent you to Hell, Tang Zemin!” The leader of the bald-headed young men condensed the tempest into his palm and sent it towards the direction of the disciples from the Xia Clan.
BOOM!
A deafening roar echoed out, as the dust settled down, the expressions of the three bald-headed youths and the disciples from the Xia Clan all revealed their astonishments as they stared at the crater made by the attack.
There, standing at the center of the crater was a young man clad in white robes. His expression looked frosty and indifferent, standing there without a care for anything, he whispered in muffled excitement.
“Damn, this instant death prevention effect of my enhanced underwear sure is great!”
