Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 60
“Why are you standing there…”
Xia Guanyu’s expression revealed utmost astonishment towards the scene that unveiled right before his eyes. Staring at his teary-eyed daughter, he confirmed that Jiang Tian was really dying earlier so why and how could he stand up and look so lively?
Jiang Tian didn’t look so disturbed for he had already laid out his plans beforehand. Clasping his hands together, he deeply bowed at Xia Guanyu and said, “I appreciate the Grand Elder’s care for me to the extent that the Grand Elder went out of his way and vouch for my innocence towards the Discipline Hall’s accusations…”
Xia Guanyu lightly smiled, being appreciated always felt good so he didn’t refute his words.
“That’s not a problem, I can see that you do not have the heart to do such a thing, Jiang Tian. If you did, then I would’ve ignored you at first sight and never brought you here to my Clan…”
That was the truth, Xia Guanyu was someone that observed the hearts of far too many people that he was familiar and could detect any trace of deceit and evil designs. Back then when he saw the clear light of determination within Jiang Tian’s eyes, he was convinced that he would definitely become a powerhouse on the path of cultivation.
“Setting that aside, I’m more curious about how you managed to stand up so quickly when you were that severely injured just a few minutes ago… Care to explain?”
Xia Guanyu’s tone suddenly turned severe, and his eyes flashed with cold lights that aimed to intimidate. Xia Bingyue gulped a mouthful of saliva, it has been so long since she saw her father acting so dignified and solemn.
Jiang Tian maintained a refreshing smile on his face and never once faltered upon the pressure from Xia Guanyu. Clasping his hands once again, he glanced at Xia Bingyue as the latter trembled before he said.
“It was thanks to your daughter, Miss Bingyue’s help that I recovered so fast, if not for the fact that she sacrificed so many medicinal pills for me, I would’ve already died…” Jiang Tian’s eyes sparkled with a light that had no trace of subterfuge.
Xia Guanyu frowned for a moment, turning to look at his daughter, he asked in a solemn voice.
“Is what he said true? Yue’er?”
Xia Bingyue’s figure trembled for a moment, looking somewhat hesitant. She glanced at Dan’s direction before saying,
“Yes, father… I panicked earlier and used at least several top-grade medicinal pills to help him recover…”
She stammered through her words but Xia Guanyu looked convinced. Making a sidelong glance at Xia Dong, he swept his wrist at Jiang Tian and his daughter as the space around them shifted.
Before the two realized it, fluctuations of Spatial Transfer engulfed their bodies and they found themselves standing before the doors of Xia Guanyu’s residence at one of the highest peak within the Xia Clan Residence.
Xia Bingyue’s expression looked tragic and indescribable. After Jiang Tian stood up earlier, she wasn’t so stupid so she realized that she just fell into his trap. Glaring hatefully at Jiang Tian, she turned around to leave.
“Come back here…”
As if his words transformed into a dharmic decree. Xia Bingyue’s figure stiffened and her body turned around to face Jiang Tian despite the protest of her will. Earlier, she had declared that she would do anything and whatever that Jiang Tian asked for her and even swore under the Heavenly Dao.
It has to be known that under the effects of the Heavenly Dao, those that dared to renege on their promises would suffer heaven’s punishment. Xia Bingyue couldn’t believe that Jiang Tian would take advantage of her desparation at that time and swindle her into swearing an oath under the Heavenly Dao, forcing her to become his slave.
Standing stiffly in front of Jiang Tian. Xia Bingyue closed her eyes as numerous thoughts appeared in her mind. She hated Jiang Tian, she hated her naivety and she hated the feelings in her heart. Deeply breathing, she opened her eyes once again and it sparkled with a different light than she used to look at Jiang Tian before.
Jiang Tian saw this distinct light and couldn’t help but sigh. He owed her far too much. Unfortunately, without doing what he did previously, his plans wouldn’t succeed. Calming his disturbed nerves, he stared right into Xia Bingyue’s eyebrows and said.
“You’ll soon realize why I did this to you, Bingyue… But for now, I want you to remain ignorant of everything, this is also for you sake… I’m afraid that once you knew of the truth, your heart won’t be able to hold on…”
Jiang Tian’s cryptic words astonished, Xia Bingyue. She stretched her hand out, wanting to say something but she repeatedly blinked and realized that Jiang Tian had disappeared from her sight.
At the distance, Jiang Tian’s figure repeatedly hopped on branches after branches, going for the direction of the Recovery and Enhancement Squad near the borders of the Mystic Realm at the Xia Clan’s side. Before he could even near the camp, sentries stationed above trees noticed his figure and they all exclaimed in delight.
“Hey, isn’t that Junior brother Jiang Tian?”
“Everyone! Junior brother Jiang Tian is back! He’s safe!”
“Sound the bells and gather everyone, Junior brother Jiang Tian is back!”
Jiang Tian smiled upon seeing the figures of Xia Lei and his fellow disciples gathered at the empty lot. Turning to look at Xia Lei’s expression, he found that the young man who had the stature of a giant actually looked like he was about to cry, something that contrasted his appearance.
If someone asked Jiang Tian whom he trusted the most among his fellow disciples. It would be Xia Lei who had the straightforward attitude that he liked the most. Someone like Xia Lei would find it hardpressed to betray someone whom he thought as a brother.
Being friends with someone like Xia Lei was a highly profitable and worthwhile endeavor. Landing on the ground with a smile plastered on his face, Jiang Tian greeted them all with a smile.
“Howdy, everyone? I have returned…” He turned his body around and spread his arms in a comical manner, evoking laughter from his fellow disciples that poked fun at him in return.
“Junior brother, looking at your sorry clothes. It seems like you had a rough time with that bastard, Xia Dong…” A slender-framed young man said at the side with a smile. The person beside him also teased.
“Since your body looks pristine despite your bedraggled clothes, could it be that Xia Dong gave you a certain punishment… Especially at that area…?” He purposely lengthened the end of his sentence, inducing numerous muffled laughter around him as Jiang Tian glared and retorted.
“Shut the fuck up man, miss me with that gay shit…”
“Hahaha…”
Even Xia Lei, struggled to suppress his laughter as he covered his mouth with his palm. Nevertheless, his trembling shoulders and his narrowed eyes that sparkled with joy and schadenfreude indicated his current emotions.
“Everyone, let’s stop poking fun at our Junior brother… Who knows what kind of a nightmare he experienced at the hands of that Xia Dong. Teasing him with that only deepens his nightmare, making it so that he won’t forget the time he spent together with that old bastard…”
Another disciple valiantly announced, the first part of his sentence contained righteous hymm that astonished the crowd. But when he spat the second part of his sentence, Jiang Tian’s expression turned increasingly green and the laughter of the disciples around him intensified.
“You guys…”
Jiang Tian pointed at them, his index finger shaking. Sweeping his gaze at his fellow disciples. He crossed his arms together and said, “Well, since you guys prepared such a welcome for me then I guess…” Taking out a certain token within his pocket, he flailed the token around and said, “You guys do not need these contribution points, right?”
Those disciples that silently laughed stiffened, while those that laughed out loud choked amidst their laughter. Staring at the shining token within Jiang Tian’s hand, their eyes sparkled with a pleading gleam, but Jiang Tian merely said in an indifferent voice.
“I have always believed at the carrot and stick approach. Since you guys already had your fill with teasing, I guess I also need to have my fill and use these contribution points in whatever I want, right?”
He quickly turned around and disregarded his fellow disciples. But as soon as he turned around, innumerable deep footsteps followed suit along with dull thuds as the disciples that teased him earlier kneeled and pleaded on the ground.
“Oh glorious and respectful Jiang Tian, we had the eyes but never saw Mt. Tai, please forgive our rudeness…”
“That’s indeed the case, Junior brot- No, Elder Jiang Tian! Please forgive our mistakes and bestow upon us the gift of contribution points…”
Jiang Tian almost busted his guts when he heard the exaggerated praises of his fellow disciples behind him. Turning around, he tried his best in suppressing his laugh as he swept his gaze behind.
There, kneeling on the ground with some assuming an exaggerated pose offered their apologies. Those female disciples even had tears at the edges of their eyes. Awkwardly scratching his head, Jiang Tian lightly chuckled and said.
“Now you guys have learned the lesson the hard way… Next time, you shouldn’t poke fun at your poor Junior brother or he may take his revenge in an unorthodox way…” Jiang Tian slightly smiled and swept his gaze at the disciples who repeatedly nodded their heads like chicken pecking rice.
“Contained within this token are the accumulated contribution points that Elder Xia Dong embezzled from everyone. Right now, at this moment. It will be rightfully returned and distribtued evenly among everyone.”
Those who heard his words stiffened in glee while some looked quite hesitant. Xia Lei detected their anxiety and he spoke up in their behalf.
“Jiang Tian, will the distribution also include those that recently joined the squad? Will they get the same amount of contribution points as those that stayed far longer than them?”
Xia Lei’s words rang loud and clear for everyone to hear. Jiang Tian’s smile intensified. Sweeping his gaze at his fellow disciples, an air of righteousness along with an enigmatic charisma mysteriously pulsated from his body as he declared.
“No matter when they joined, as long as they treat themselves as a true member of the Ghost Emperor’s Legion. Then they are certainly a brother and will be given the same amount of contribution points as everyone…”
His declaration evoked several sighs of relief amongst the disciples as Jiang Tian squeezed his hand, sending a stream of brilliant light flying towards the direction everyone’s token situated at their right chest.
But just as the distribution of contribution points ended, a disciple clad in the robes of Inner Disciples silently approached at the side and said in a cold and indifferent voice to Jiang Tian.
“Are you that Jiang Tian?” The disciple asked without any trace of emotions on his face.
Jiang Tian turned to look at him and merely nodded his head in response.
“Good, my leader. Xia Hanzo’s brother, Twentieth Ranked at the Heavenly Rankings. Xia Huan orders you to meet him….”
