Transmigrated Enhancement Specialists - Chapter 9
Xia Guanyu and Xia Bingyue stared at each other with shock visible on their eyes. Xia Luoyang and her group of disciples soon stood up. Jiang Tian waved his hands and turned around to leave.
Xia Luoyang saw that the so-called Expert entered Xia Bingyue’s carriage. She knitted her eyebrows in thought for a moment before saying, “Senior Sister, could it be that the Senior is related to the Xia Clan?”
“Really? Is that true, Senior Sister? Could it be that Senior is an Elder to our clan? But why is it that we don’t recognize his face?”
“Idiot, Senior should be in the midst of a mission and just happened to pass by and saved us after seeing our plight…”
The fellow disciples who heard their words started their speculations with earnest tones. Xia Luoyang’s eyes flashed with excitement and anticipation for XIa Bingyue’s answer as the latter thought in her mind.
“It looks like I can’t tell them yet that Jiang Tian is a mere mortal…I’m afraid that I’ll shatter their fantasies…” Xia Bingyue mumbled under her breath, “But judging from Luoyang’s account, it doesn’t seem like she’s lying and there’s no reason for her to lie…But just how did a mere mortal save them from the disciples of the Silent Monastery?”
Xia Bingyue’s eyes turned to look at the carriage, seemingly piercing through the void and landing on Jiang Tian’s figure who felt a shiver down his spine. The mystery surrounding the mortal Artificer called Jiang Tian deepened to the extent that Xia Bingyue didn’t know what was right or wrong anymore.
Xia Guanyu’s expression looked complicated, at first, he thought about stealing Jiang Tian’s Enhancement Techniques then killing him afterward. However, right now, after hearing the disciples’ accounts. Hesitation flashed through his face as he thought, ‘Perhaps it would be better for me to stop my schemes against him and do the opposite instead.’
Jiang Tian whose figure sat in a cross-legged position meditated with a slight smile on his face. Before he saved the disciples of the Xia Clan earlier, Jiang Tian anticipated the series of thoughts that would surface inside the minds of the father and daughter pair.
Jiang Tian was certain that the two of them were scheming to steal his Enhancement Techniques and if their discreet schemes failed and they made a blatant move. Jiang Tian would most likely fail to defend himself and die as a consequence.
Even though he had thousands of methods for escaping an encirclement, Jiang Tian wasn’t so sure that it would work in this world. After all, the world where he came from didn’t have any magic or a cultivation system.
Jiang Tian never moved without ensuring his probability of success. He was a man that knew when to move and when to retreat. In this case, since he was still a mortal, he opted to retreat and reverse their mindset towards him.
Saving those disciples meant that he would earn the gratitude and respect of those disciples. Not only that, but it also served to prove his determination in becoming a member of the Xia Clan. Considering this fact, Xia Guanyu, as a member of the senior generation would find it bothersome to move against Jiang Tian who meant no harm to the Clan.
Instead, he would consider the Xia Clan’s potential benefits in mind and would think that it would probably be better to find some ways to bind Jiang Tian to their Clan. After all, he was a genius Artificer that could Enhance Substandard Tier Weapons even without a cultivation.
Artificer was a rare occupation and in each time they surfaced, countless influences would fight to claim them. Something that the small and remote Xia Clan couldn’t possibly intervene.
Jiang Tian struck it on the bullseye as Xia Guanyu called over his daughter and discussed some topics that reddened the young maiden’s cheeks. In the end, Xia Bingyue furiously stomped her foot on the ground and retreated back to her room, all the while glaring at Jiang Tian’s direction.
Jiang Tian sighed in his heart, lifting his head to stare at the skies, he thought about his times where he had to fight with others for a chance to obtain a scarce amount of resources to improve his martial arts. Back then, Jiang Tian struggled among the lowest rungs of society.
As a lone wolf without any backing, Jiang Tian knew how harsh the world could be for people like him back then. Right now, Jiang Tian didn’t desire to tread the same path. He was tired of the hardships and the tribulations. He only wanted to live a fulfilling life that wasn’t mundane.
Standing up, Jiang Tian opened his legs and bent his knees.
With a low growl, Jiang Tian channeled power from his lower body up to his chest before forcing it outwards using his palm as a fierce wind manifested and struck the wooden table on the ground, shattering it into pieces.
Jiang Tian also collapsed on his knees. His breathing ragged and his expression pale. Executing one of the simplest martial art technique that he knew back in his previous life exhausted him like a dog.
Clicking his tongue, Jiang Tian didn’t know why but even though his body looked the same, the tempering that he did had disappeared, rendering him with a body that was completely similar to a mortal that never exercised in his life.
Jiang Tian opened his mouth and wanted to loudly curse the heavens as a system notification popped out in the air and interrupted his train of thought.
[The awakening of the Enhancement System required a vast amount of energy. Since the host didn’t cultivate his spirit, the System had no other choice but to tap on the cultivated power inside the host’s body. As a result, the System awakened but as a consequence, the host’s body became untempered once again.]
“Fucking hell, so the reason for my weakness if because of this so-called Enhancement System?” Jiang Tian spat his curses and thought that his life in this world that worshipped the strong would probably better if he had his tempered body that he cultivated for decades.
He wouldn’t have to rely on the Xia Clan’s resources as support and would’ve established his own influence in this world.
“Since there’s no use crying over spilled milk, I’ll just temper my body once again…” Jiang Tian sighed in his heart, restarting one’s cultivation meant that one had to cross through the pain and tribulations once again.
However, Jiang Tian was unperturbed. Sitting cross-legged on the ground, he recalled the Ghost Emperor’s Scripture that he himself created and sorted the information in his mind.
Fortunately, The System seemed to have returned me to my late teenage years, so what if I cultivated once again? I had once reached the peak, there should be no problem on doing it again…
Jiang Tian entered a state of deep hibernation as he constantly sorted out all information regarding the Ghost Emperor’s Scripture. No one bothered him after seeing his meditation and when he opened his eyes again, he was now at the Xia Clan’s Residence.
