Trapped In Time - Chapter 94
So, Titan, the moon of Saturn, was chosen to be our new home. It had similar attributes when compared to the young Earth. Half of Titan was ready and the rest was undergoing development. We felt that we should shift here. Hence, slowly we left the moon base and shifted to Titian. We took with us the plants, soil, tree saplings, birds, animals, fish, etc. The soil we took with us, we started using on Titan and with time it got mixed with the indigenous soil. The plants, trees animals and birds got adjusted. Now it is a different world there, not exactly Earth but something like a daughter of Earth. The undergoing development area is still there, though it has reduced to almost a quarter of the area. This area is out of bounds for all our citizens.
As time passes, our contact with Earth became quite irregular and then stopped. This was due to the two huge wars on Earth and the destruction of the civilization of those advanced periods. This destruction was akin to nuclear wars. After each destruction, people on Earth started from scratch.
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant with an average radius about nine times that of Earth. It has only one-eighth the average density of Earth; however, with its larger volume, Saturn is over 95 times more massive. Saturn and its rings are the jewels of the solar system, but it is a giant gas planet that lacks a surface where humans can survive.
Saturn’s rings are thought to be pieces of comets, asteroids or shattered moons that broke up before they reached the planet, torn apart by Saturn’s powerful gravity. They are made of billions of small chunks of ice and rock coated with another material such as dust.
Saturn has 62 confirmed moons of which 9 are waiting to be officially named. Saturn’s largest moon Titan is bigger than both Mercury and Pluto.
Titan looks Earth-like and has all the elements like Nitrogen, Carbon dioxide, Oxygen, etc. Most of Titan’s lakes are now filled with water due to our scientists’ tireless efforts to make it habitable. Only one-fourth of the lakes have hydrocarbons, methane, and ethane.
Titan receives about 1% as much sunlight as Earth. Before sunlight reaches the surface, about 90% gets absorbed by the thick atmosphere, leaving only 0.1% of the amount of light Earth receives. The greenhouse effect on Titan’s surface makes it warmer, without which Titan would be too cold. We created our own sun to give heat and light to our citizens. We have everything that you have on Earth.
(Hydrocarbons are organic compounds that are made of only hydrogen and carbon atoms. They are found in many places, including crude oil and natural gas.
Methane is an odorless, colorless, flammable gas. On Earth, it is used primarily as fuel to make heat and light. It is also used to manufacture organic chemicals. Methane can be formed by the decay of natural materials and is common in landfills, marshes, septic systems, and sewers.
Ethane is used in the production of ethylene for making plastics, anti-freeze, and detergents; it’s a ripening agent for foods, a refrigerant, a substance in producing welding gas and a primary ingredient in mustard gas. Ethane is a component in the natural gas methane and is removed by cryogenic liquefaction.)
The distance of both Saturn and Titan from the Sun is about 1.4 billion km, almost 10 times as far from the Sun as Earth. We have advanced our knowledge and have now moved beyond the solar system. There are other races too. Humans are not the only ones found in this expanding universe. Some species are highly developed peaceful ones with whom we have no problems. Then there are the violent ones and to counter their ferocity, we had developed the crocodile space suits and call ourselves the ‘Garhyals’ or the ‘Crocodile Race’.
We have built good relations with all civilized species including our brothers and sisters from the Magical World and travel all over this expanding universe. But we have not come before the inhabitants and the governments of our Mother Earth due to some issues. Our spaceships travel at very high speed ( No, not at the speed of light which is 299,792,458 meters per second i.e.186,282 miles per second. According to Einstein’s special theory of relativity, particles can never travel faster than light. This is because particles that have mass require energy to accelerate them. The closer to the speed of light you get a particle into, the more energy is required to go faster. This is because the particles themselves get more massive in proportion to the increased velocity).
The present Earth is the third time that the Earth has rebuilt itself but it has not as yet regained its glory of the previous 2 Eras where technology was highly advanced. Even the present scientific knowledge is not what it used to be. There is a long way to go yet. We have seen the number of probes that passed by observing Saturn as well as Titan. Pioneer 11 in 1979, Voyager 1 and 2 in 1981 and 1982 respectively, orbiting of Cassini-Huygens from 2004-2017 and in 2005 the landing on Titan (Christiaan Huygens discovered Titan in 1655). However, all passed by Saturn and Titan and the probe that landed on Titan did so in the undeveloped area. Another landing on Titan by a space lander ‘Drangofly’ has been planned in 2034, it will most likely land in the underdeveloped area which is out of bounds.
“I think I have spoken a lot. I would request my colleagues to say something if they want to, then you all can ask us questions,” said Ken while closing his monologue.
Aan who was the second in command spoke next. “I have nothing more to say except that we all are very glad to meet you all from Mother Earth. You can say, it is a dream come true.”
