Trial Marriage Husband : I Am CEO’s Plaything - Chapter 747
“Auntie, here’s the tea.”
Lisa thrusted the teacup in front of Greta the same way she did to Brigitta, Oscar, and Peter. When she couldn’t help but look at Greta’s face, she unconsciously wanted to roll her eyes. But she tried to hold it in and put on a straight face.
One second, two seconds, three seconds… and the demonic woman hadn’t taken the teacup she gave her.
As her hands trembled from holding up the teacup, Lisa chose to put the cup on the table. She then put the tray under the table then sat down next to Oscar.
During that time, Lisa and Oscar chose to keep quiet and be good listeners. The ones always talking were Peter and Brigitta, whom Greta often wanted to interrupt. Just as Greta opened her mouth, Brigitta’s expression changed drastically. The old woman deliberately didn’t look at her and preferred to take a sip of Lisa’s brewed tea.
Suddenly, since Lisa was tired of hearing them talk about something she didn’t understand, the woman yawned. Not long after, she accidentally coughed from choking on her own saliva.
“Hey,” Oscar panicked, patting Lisa’s back, “What’s wrong with you?”
Lisa’s cough couldn’t stop at all, causing her eyes to turn red. Feeling embarrassed because of her clumsiness, she chose to get up from the sofa and rush to the kitchen.
Not long after, Oscar also got up from the sofa and said, “Excuse me, I’ll help Lisa for a bit.”
When Lisa and Oscar arrived in the kitchen, the man quickly got Lisa a cup of water. After drinking the water, Lisa’s cough subsided but her face and eyes were still red. This time she really looked like someone who had just cried.
Since Lisa was embarrassed by her current appearance, she chose to stay in the kitchen for a while.
“You can go back. Let me stay here for a while.” Lisa said while wiping her lips with the back of her hand.
Oscar actually didn’t want to leave Lisa alone in the kitchen. It’s just that he also doesn’t like it if he has to leave his family in the living room. Finally, he couldn’t help but nodded his head and obeyed Lisa’s request.
“Crazy, how could I…” Lisa whispered to herself. If only she hadn’t accepted Oscar’s request to visit Brigitta today, perhaps they would still be relaxing at home by now.
When Oscar sat back down on the sofa, the conversation stopped in the living room. Brigitta turned on the TV and insisted on watching a flash of the afternoon’s news, while Peter and Greta sat sipping blackcurrant tea.
“Ahm Oscar,” Peter looked at his watch, “Come with me for a moment. There’s something I want to tell you.”
Oscar frowned, glanced at Brigitta who had the same confused look on her face, then nodded his head. “Grandma, I’ll go with my Papa for a while, okay?”
“All right, all right,” Brigitta replied, then turned down the volume of the TV and continued, “You guys talk for a bit. You must want to relieve the longing between father and son.”
When Oscar and Peter walked out into the garden behind the villa, only Brigitta and Greta were left in the living room.
From the start, Brigitta had noticed Greta’s attitude towards Lisa. Even though the old woman acted like an indifferent person because her son and grandson were there, it didn’t mean she wouldn’t want to teach the demonic woman a lesson!
Greta actually felt the same way. From then until now, she felt like she was not accepted by the old woman. But she didn’t have the courage to ask Brigitta about it.
Now, since there was no one in the room, Greta decided to approach the old woman. Like it or not, Brigitta is her mother-in-law for more than 30 years. How could they continue to give each other the cold shoulders?
Greta’s throat actually felt dry, even drier than her hair when she was younger. In the past, Greta loved to dye her hair when she was young. She had tried all kinds of colors, until finally her hair became damaged and dry.
Her throat felt dry, but that didn’t mean she wanted to taste Lisa’s tea. According to her, it would be better if she died of thirst than having to drink anything that came from Lisa’s hands.
Greta got up from the sofa and sat next to Brigitta, “Mom, how are you doing? I’m sorry that Peter and I rarely come here to see you.”
“I’m fine,” Brigitta replied curtly as she put the teacup on the table. “I hope you improve your attitude.”
Hearing that made Greta frown, “What do you mean? I don’t understand…”
“I don’t mean anything at all,” Brigitta replied quietly, “I just hope the Petersson family continues to grow and the relationship between each family is improved and continues to be harmonious. I also don’t want my grandson to be unable to marry the person of his choice.”
“Let them choose their own life partner without feeling guilty.” Brigitta continued quietly, still not looking at Greta. The old woman’s eyes were fixed on the TV screen which was now showing an advertisement.
Everyone would understand the hidden meaning of Brigitta’s words. Even if Greta was a stupid woman, she could still understand Brigitta’s true intention.
“Oscar and Lisa have my blessing. Even if you or Peter disapprove of them, they both have my blessing. I hope they can get married soon.” Brigitta continued firmly.
Hearing that made Greta dumbfounded. She blinked a few times, “Mom…”
“And even if I died before Oscar and Lisa were married, that doesn’t mean you can stop their marriage. If you dare to do that, I will not be silent even though I am no longer here.” Brigitta exclaimed.
At times like this, Greta is one hundred percent sure that Lisa is a demon. How could that woman win over the heart of Brigitta, the most stubborn and cold woman in a short time?
She had been Brigitta’s daughter-in-law for over 30 years and still couldn’t win the old lady’s heart! At this rate, Greta felt like she couldn’t do anything.
Brigitta would never take her seriously for everything she would do and say about Lisa.
“Love and happiness are the most important things in a relationship. I think you already know about it. Let them marry and enjoy their life together.. I think, and I hope, Oscar and Lisa can get married in the near future and will lead a harmonious married life.”
