Trial Marriage Husband : I Am CEO’s Plaything - Chapter 811
Seeing Mrs. Rusminah’s attitude that looked guilty like that made Lisa even more panicked. “Where is William?”
“Miss Lisa, I’m sorry. This all happened because of my carelessness. I’m sorry for not being able to take care of William…” Mrs. Rusminah replied in a tone that sounded like it could slowly pierce Lisa’s heart.
The more the maid procrastinated, the more anxious and worried Lisa was. Without realizing it, she took Mrs. Rusminah’s hands and asked the question again, “What’s wrong with William? Where did my son go!? Tell me right now!”
“This afternoon, Mrs. Greta suddenly came and took William away. I know I should have stopped her, but I’m sorry… I couldn’t do it…” Mrs. Rusminah lowered her head and regretted her action. “I didn’t have the courage to fight Mrs. Greta..”
Taking care of William while Lisa and Oscar were working was Mrs. Rusminah’s responsibility. But she did not have the power or the courage to stop William from being taken away by his own grandmother. Therefore, Mrs. Rusminah felt very guilty for not daring to oppose Greta. The poor middle-aged woman could only watch William being pulled into the old woman’s car.
After hearing that, Lisa’s body felt stiff all over. She looked at Mrs. Rusminah with a look of disbelief and felt her heart want to stop at that very second. The woman could only shake her head slowly and let her eyes burst into tears.
“When did she come to take William?”
“Earlier around 2 pm. Maybe they have arrived at Mr. Peter’s house by now.” Mrs. Rusminah replied with a guilty tone.
Without wasting any more time, Lisa immediately took out her cell phone and called Oscar. Fortunately, the man immediately received her incoming call.
“Oscar, geez…” Without letting Oscar open his mouth, Lisa said, “Please hurry home now. I just got news from Mrs. Rusminah that William was taken away by your Mama. Can you go home now? I’m scared for William’s life!”
Lisa’s chest felt like it was being crushed by a large boulder that made it difficult for her to breathe. The memory of Greta helping Clara to kidnap William is still vivid in her brain. She would still feel traumatized by Greta when it came to William.
Lisa didn’t want to lose William for the second time.
Besides, Lisa also didn’t want William to go through the same hardship caused by someone who shared the same blood as him. Especially Greta. Lisa doesn’t want William to be hurt again because of Greta’s actions.
“Lisa, where are you now? I will go home soon.” Oscar’s reply was no less frantic than Lisa’s. He clutches his cell phone and his heart feels bad after hearing her words.
“I’m at home! Hurry, please hurry home now!” Lisa asked in a pitiful tone. Oscar knew in a second the woman’s tears would leak out and run down her cheeks profusely.
Lisa really couldn’t say anything but wanted to find William. She just wanted to make sure William was okay. It’s better for her to be hurt instead of William.
“Don’t worry, okay? Take a deep breath, let it out of your mouth,” Oscar said, trying to calm her though he himself wasn’t calm. He got up from his chair and took his briefcase, “Wait for me at home. And please don’t do anything rash.”
Without waiting for Lisa’s reply, Oscar had already hung up on them first. He walked out of his study, saw his private secretary in the office and said, “Postpone all the meetings scheduled today and tomorrow. I have important business to attend to.”
“Ah, wait until I allow you to reschedule today’s and tomorrow’s meetings.” Oscar repeated quickly.
“But today’s meeting is very important, Mr. Oscar. Are you sure you want to postpone all meetings for today and tomorrow?” The secretary asked, looking unsure. Today’s meeting was very important thanks to their preparation for the whole year. Oscar only needed to enter the room and wait until the guest from another company arrived.
Oscar rushed into the elevator and pressed the button to close the doors. Before the elevator’s doors closed, Oscar shouted, “Didn’t you hear my order!? Clean your ears before working here!”
“W-well, I’ll call—”
Before his private secretary could answer the man’s orders, the elevator doors had already closed. The woman felt like her heart wanted to stop beating. With her forehead and temples covered in sweat, she turned around and rushed to do what Oscar had ordered her to do.
Now, back to Oscar’s cold and desolate house.
Lisa lowered the phone from her ear and walked round and round in the living room. Mrs. Rusminah was standing not far from Lisa and could only look at the woman with guilty eyes. Just like Lisa who looked panicked, Mrs. Rusminah also felt the same way.
“I’m sorry, Miss Lisa. This is all my fault. I should have had the courage to stop Mrs. Greta’s action and keep William at home. But once again I apologize that I did not dare to go against her…” Mrs. Rusminah’s voice sounded very guilty. Often the problems that occur in Oscar’s family were because of her carelessness and her lack of courage to act immediately.
Lisa was still feeling panicked, anxious whether she just had to wait for Oscar to get home or do something. However, hearing the maid’s voice that sounded guilty and frightened, she didn’t have the heart to scold her. She could understand what Mrs. Rusminah had done earlier.
If she were in Mrs. Rusminah’s shoes, she certainly wouldn’t have the courage to fight Greta. How could an ordinary maid restrain Greta from taking William away? She would most likely be scolded and taught a lesson by the old woman.
It’s just that, Mrs. Rusminah should have contacted Lisa and Oscar as soon as Greta left. So that the two could immediately go and take William from the demonic woman.
Lisa stopped walking and saw Mrs. Rusminah’s wrinkled face. Her heart immediately touched and she couldn’t bear to blame the old woman, “It’s okay, Mrs. Rusminah. It’s not entirely your fault, you really can’t fight Greta.”
“I’m truly sorry…” Mrs.. Rusminah said once again while looking down.
