True Alpha’s Chosen Mate - Chapter 245
“Azazel, can I have this?”
Sally offered a mischievous grin, pointing at the untouched sweet for Azazel. The latter raised his brows and glanced at the dessert, nodding as he glanced back at her.
“Sweet!” she exclaimed as she excitedly reached for the sweet while keeping her fork in between her lips.
His eyes softened and a subtle smile dominated his face before he glanced around. Teresa, Sally, and Priscilla invited him to eat dinner together. Apparently, all their big brothers and sisters were too busy to dine with them.
Azazel, although heavily involved in the plans for the upcoming war, wasn’t as busy as them. His presence was only needed during meetings. Moreover, even though the Tempest clan welcomed him with open arms, many werewolves were still wary of him because he was a vampire.
“Thank you for inviting me in here…” He cleared his throat while wiping the corner of his lips with a cloth, catching the young princesses’ attention. He sported a short smile.
“I really appreciate your kindness.”
“Are you leaving? So soon?” Teresa inquired with a frown. Azazel had been the person who managed to fill in their longing for their busy brothers ever since Alice’s death.
“Prince Azazel is also a busy person.” Priscilla reminded her before nodding at Azazel.
“Teresa, stop acting like a baby, will you?” Sally snapped her tongue in irritation and then faced Azazel. “Prince, want to walk with me?”
“Sally, that’s unfair,” complained Teresa as her frown grew worse.
“Why is it unfair? I have an important thing to talk about with the prince!”
Azazel chuckled while waving. “Princess Teresa, I will surely join you next time.”
“Aww…”
“Heh,” Sally smirked deviously before she turned and nodded at Azazel’s invitation. She jumped out of the seat, carrying the sweet with her fork, and followed Azazel’s tracks. As they walked away, Sally looked back at Teresa and stuck her tongue out.
“Your Highness, you shouldn’t bully Princess Teresa like that.” Azazel chuckled, hands interlaced behind him, walking beside the mischievous little princess.
“Hehe. She already has a mate. So she should give a chance to others.” Sally huffed while enjoying her piece of cake. He laughed and shook his head, peeling his eyes away from her.
As he gazed ahead, staring at the empty hallway leading to the garden, his lips parted. “Princess Sally, you truly loved your little sisters, huh?”
“Of course…” the smile on Sally’s face gradually faded, sharp eyes on the sweet as she forked a portion carefully. “I look younger than them, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t protect them. After all, I am responsible for every decision I make, whether they are good or bad ones.”
CLINK
As soon as she breathed those words out, the tip of the fork touched the surface of the saucer with a light clink. Sally gritted her teeth as she tossed the saucer at Azazel, but she was too late.
Azazel grabbed her by the jaw and, before she knew it, her back crashed against the wall. Sally winced, snarling through her gritted teeth while he tightened his grip to stop her mouth from opening. Her eyes glowed menacingly, staring at the man, smirking evilly at her.
The Azazel everyone knew was kind, gentle, and a little cute every time he was embarrassed by something he wasn’t used to… was gone. All she could see was a villainous man getting out of his covers, smirking evilly at her.
“I had always known you are more than just an underdeveloped wolf,” he crooned, narrowing his eyes as he listened to her muffled growl. “But I didn’t know you will be the first one among the Tempest’s to discover… me.”
Sally’s eyes turned bloodshot the longer she stared at those eyes full of contempt. They let in a snake and now he was slithering discreetly, waiting for his chance to bite.
“If not for the fact that the scent of your blood would waft across the entire palace, I would’ve ripped your heart out of your chest, Princess.” He snickered, tilting his head, enjoying the angry sight of the little princess. “Hmm… what am I going to do with you? I can’t kill you since Alice just died.”
Sally’s breathing grew ragged while flinging her legs to reach him. But her short limbs hindered her from fighting back. She tried to shift as well but to no avail. Something… or rather, his evil aura was suppressing her from morphing.
Once all these facts sank into her heart, Sally swallowed a mouthful of saliva. She was dead. She shouldn’t have confronted him, but if she didn’t, her instincts told her Priscilla and Teresa would also be in danger. There was no shadow of a doubt that Azazel was planning something during dinner.
“You’re right.” She froze when he chuckled while keeping his eyes on her. “If you didn’t invite me, I planned to kill the three of you before I leave. How? It’s a secret, but now… that you suddenly showed such suspicion, I can’t help but wonder about your older siblings.”
Her eyes dilated as she held her breath, sensing a chill down her spine. Azazel’s other hand gripped her knee, and in the next second, his grip around her jaw tightened to muffle her scream while crushing her knee cap.
“There’s more way to incapacitate you without spilling blood,” he muttered in a matter-of-factly tone. “Don’t worry, you’ll regenerate. That is why werewolves are the best toys ever. They don’t break so easily.”
‘Mhph….!!!’
Sally writhed while he crushed her limbs. Amid his actions, Azazel suddenly paused as a glint flickered across his eyes.
“She seems to had finally figured out the show I prepared for her.” He smirked, raising his eyes at Sally. “Should I keep you alive?”
He tilted his head, pressing his lips as he mulled over it. “But why? I don’t see any reason since the lamb already figured out the real Evil. I wonder what would be her reaction if she comes in here and everyone was already dead?”
Sally’s eyes dilated as the corner of his lips stretched into a large grin.. Before she could react, everything went black.
