Twin Soul - Book 3: Chapter 11 (10/11)
Tears continued to drop from Jaane’s eyes when she saw Kain’s heavily injured lifeless body lying on the ground with a sword stabbed into his head. After quickly wiping away the tears in her eyes, Jaane jumped down from the Ice Phoenix. The Ice Phoenix casted [Summon Ice Guardian] spell and commanded the Ice Guardian to cast [Ice Barrier] spell on Jaane. Jaane attempted to get inside but couldn’t because she was blocked by the hundred Sixteen Wings Angel Warriors who were fighting with Etgar Revenmar and his Blood Mages. Jaane turned to her left side and saw Adrik Volsky and his giant Ice Guardian along with the Rogue Mages were fighting with the Holy Mage Gwenn Bigham and the Mages Council. Thought for several seconds, Jaane decided to use Arthur’s sympathy. Knowing Arthur is a righteous person, he wouldn’t prevent her from seeing the corpse of her dead husband.
Jaane calmly shouted out loud, “Arthur, may I come in?”
Hearing Jaane’s voice, Arthur snapped out of the mind of memorizing Kain. Arthur saw the Ice Phoenix was standing behind Jaane, but he didn’t mind much about it. As powerful as Kain, he had no problem capturing a Magical Beast and tamed it to be a pet for Jaane. After verifying Jaane was coming by herself, Arthur thought, “Jaane is an Earth Mage, she can’t revive Kain. I guess it wouldn’t hurt letting her in. My silver short sword was still on Kain’s head, I should remove it before letting Jaane come in.”
After quickly taking the short sword out of Kain’s head and putting it back inside his Magical Storage Ring, Arthur said, “Jaane, you may come in. I have promised Kain to take care of you and your children. No harm shall ever come to you guys.”
Jaane nodded and softly said using a gratitude tone, “I thank you for your kindness.”
After walking in front of Kain’s corpse, tears started running down Jaane’s eyes uncontrollably when she saw the horrible major wounds on Kain’s face and all over his corpse. Not counting the big hole on Kain’s head, there were at least seventy wound marks on Kain’s body from major to minor wounds. Jaane kneels down, and immediately reaches her right hand to touch Kain’s face. As soon as her hand touched Kain’s face, Jaane casted [True Resurrection], a Druid Magic spell that she can use once a day to revive someone and fully heal a subject. If a magic caster was revived using [True Resurrection] spell, that magic caster wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to regenerate mana or being unable to cast magic for a month.
A bright purple aura released from Kain’s body then quickly healed all of Kain’s injuries including the hole on his head. The revived Kain Bersk that had a full mana pool, eight blood pools, and three health pools, quickly got up, chanted for the secret codes, and Iviss (in her knife form) appeared on his left hand.
Quickly hiding Iviss inside his Soul Magical Robe before the bright purple aura disappeared, Kain asked in a mocking tone, “Weakling, you didn’t think I could die that easily, did you?”
Arthur saw the bright purple aura flashed several times and was wondering what it was. And when Kain got up and asked him that question, Arthur opened his eyes widely in surprise and asked, “What? How did you?” Arthur then turned his gaze toward Jaane and asked, “Was it you, Jaane? Were you the one that revives Kain?”
Before Jaane could answer, Kain touched his Soul Magical Robe and said, “This Magical Robe wasn’t just a Soul-bound Magical Robe, but it became part of my soul as a reward after I completed the Timeless Dungeon. Once a day, my Soul Magical Robe could revive me at the last minute if no [Resurrection] spell was casted on me. I’m glad you didn’t completely destroy my body or it would be game over for me. Thank you for being a kind idiot, Arthur Castillon.”
That was a complete lie. Kain didn’t want Arthur or anyone to know about Jaane’s Druid Magic and created that lie to cover up. Arthur didn’t fully believe Kain, but there was no other explanation. Arthur knew Jaane was just an Earth Mage, she couldn’t revive Kain using magic.
Arthur thought to himself, “Was it because of the Life Potion? Jaane wasn’t wearing a Magical Storage Ring, how could she have a Life Potion with her? Plus, the Life Potion can only take effect while being drunk when alive. And if Kain drank two Life Potions then he brags about it instead of lying. Maybe Kain was telling me the truth about his Soul Magical Robe. I was too reckless when I didn’t destroy his body, allowing him to revive himself. Kain was right. I am an idiot.”
Arthur thought, “Could it be that Jaane somehow created a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell that could revive people? That is possible. Earth Mage can heal using [Healing Vines] and [Tree of Life] spells. Maybe Jaane somehow discovers a way to revive Kain using a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell that she has created.”
Arthur shook his head and said, “I knew you have revived using a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell casted by Jaane Almos. Kain, you revived wouldn’t change anything. What can you do with that depleted mana pool and unable to cast magic for the next twenty-eight days?”
“Is that so?” Kain immediately activated [Soul Bridge] ability then casted [Conjure Finwe] to conjure Anwyn Richir and Finwe in front of him.
Kain smirked and said, “As I have said, this wonderful Soul Magical Robe sure saved my ass this time. Weakling, do you want to play with me in that [Isolation] again? Or would you prefer to fight with me like a real man in this real world?”
Seeing Arthur was doubting his words, Kain smirked and said, “Weakling, you are thinking too much. I’m going to kill you today anyway. There was no reason for me to lie to you.”
Arthur nodded his head and thought, “The more Kain speaks, the more I felt like he was lying. Could it be that Jaane somehow created a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell that works similar to the [Resurrection] spell? That isn’t almost impossible. Earth Mage can heal using [Healing Vines] and [Tree of Life] spells. Maybe Jaane somehow discovers a way to revive Kain using a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell that she has created.”
Seeing Kain was smirking at him, Arthur smiled and said, “I knew you have revived using a Saint-tier Earth Magic spell casted by Jaane Almos. Kain, your resurrection wouldn’t change anything. What can you do with that depleted mana pool and unable to cast magic for the next twenty-eight days? My Isia can easily crust you in just a couple of sword strikes.”
“Is that so?” Kain immediately activated [Soul Bridge] ability then casted [Conjure Finwe] to conjure Anwyn Richir and Finwe in front of him.
Continuing to smirk, Kain said, “As I have said, this wonderful Soul Magical Robe sure saved my ass this time. Weakling, do you want to play with me in that [Isolation] again? Or would you prefer to fight with me like a real man in this real world?”
