Twin Soul - Book 3: Chapter 12 (1/12)
Flumen city, Bifjorkian Theocracy. Countless human corpses were seen lying on the street while a huge army made of only Skeleton Warriors walked around checking for survival. Any survivor spotted will be stabbed in the head to ensure no one can be left alive. In front of the Mages Council’s temple, a group of over five hundred Saint-tier Golden Skeleton Mages was repeatedly casting powerful spells while more than a thousand Legend-tier Executioners and fifty thousand Master-tier Members of the Colors were casting their magic spells to fight back. There were just roughly around a hundred Saint-tier Executioners and Members of the Colors currently stationed at the Mages Council’s temple.
Finished casting a powerful Saint-tier Thunder Magic spell he has created, Silas Helder, level 72 Saint Thunder Mage, Member of the Purple, asked Tessa out loud, “Any words from the Champions yet?”
Tessa Mallory, level 61 Saint Wind Mage, female Member of the Green, answered, “My clone already told them about the situation but they refused to respond without the order from the Holy Mage.”
“Damn them! Did you tell them that the Holy Mage isn’t here at this moment?”
“I did. They are aware of it as well. They knew Holy Mage Bigham went to Linkeep Island to witness the fight between Lord Clerico and the Blood Mage Kain Bersk.”
“The Holy Mage and Lords of the Colors took almost all the strong Saint-tier Executioners and Members to watch that f*cking battle. Tell the Champions-”
Silas stopped talking when he saw the Skeleton Warriors standing behind the Skeleton Mages being slaughtered. A glimpse of hope appeared when Silas saw that it was Zora Faringray, one of the six High Priests in the Thirteenth Scripture, who led two hundred strong Saint-tier Warrior Priests to attack the Skeleton Warriors and Golden Skeleton Mages that were attacking the Mages Council’s temple.
Sensing the Skeleton Warriors behind them were being massacred and couldn’t hold the line, the Saint-tier Golden Skeleton Mages stopped attacking the Mages Council and turned around to see what happened. They saw a blonde-haired woman wearing steel armor from neck to toe but no helmet welding a steel lance on her right hand and a big steel shield on her left hand. Together with two hundred Saint-tier Warrior Priests, she quickly massacred five thousand Skeleton Warriors that were defending the Saint Skeleton Mages.
High Priest Faringray shouted out loud while angrily slamming her big shield on the ground as she stated, “My husband and his Thirty-Sixth Legion that contains a million soldiers are clearing the Skeleton Trash throughout the city together with other Legions. All of you Skeleton Rubbish should leave Flumen city now while you still have the chance before he catches up to you.”
“Is that so?” A voice asked from above the sky.
Zora heard the voice and looked up to the sky where she saw a Diamond Skeleton flying in mid-air. The Diamond Skeleton threw a man’s head on the ground toward her location. Dodged to a side, Zora took a glance at the head to see who it was. She was speechless to find out that head belonged to Great General Marc Hardy, leader of all fifty Legions which contained a total of fifty million soldiers stationed outside of Flumen city.
Zora quickly thought to herself, “I have never seen a Diamond Skeleton before. Skeletons can’t speak regardless of reaching Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior or level 100 in magical casting. Once a Skeleton Warrior or a Skeleton Mage reaches Saint-tier, their bones will become gold. Not only can this Skeleton speak, but its bones are made out of diamonds. How strong is it really?”
Thinking so, Zora decided not to provoke the Diamond Skeleton who killed Great General Hardy, who wasn’t much weaker compared to her. Zora asked, “Skeleton, my name is Zora Faringray. May I know your name and the purpose of your visit to Flumen city? Why are you killing our citizens unprovoked?”
The Diamond Skeleton slowly landed on the ground and answered, “You are not worth my time. Tell your Pope to come to speak with me before I destroy this entire world.”
The Diamond Skeleton had no wings, which meant he was flying using the [Wind Walk] spell of Wind Magic. Zora’s mind calmed down, knowing the Diamond Skeleton was just a level 100 Wind Mage. Her son, Arthur Castillon, could easily defeat a hundred creatures like this without any problem.
Zora calmly asked, “Are you talking about Pope Alain Hayward?”
The Diamond Skeleton nodded his head and said, “He is still the Pope here, great… Who is the current Holy Mage? Is it still Gwenn Bigham?”
“Yes. How do you know them?”
“You don’t ask questions, Talkative Bitch.”
Being called a Talkative Bitch greatly upset Zora, she raised her steel shield and steel lance, preparing to attack. A second later, Zora charged at the Diamond Skeleton, aiming to strike its head at full force. The Diamond Skeleton didn’t move and let Zora’s lance strike it in the head without attacking back. Zora thought her attack was too quick and the Diamond Skeleton couldn’t dodge it. But when her lance bent and caused no damage to the Diamond Skeleton, Zora’s survivor instincts forced her to step back, threw away the bent lance while raising her shield using both hands despite the Diamond Skeleton wasn’t moving.
The Diamond Skeleton grasped air using his skinny skeleton’s right hand. The hand suddenly grew larger and larger. The hand didn’t stop growing until it grew bigger than Zora’s steel shield which took only one second. The Diamond Skeleton threw a punch toward Zora’s shield, broke it, smashed both her hands and crushed her steel armor. Zora was an Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior; she wouldn’t lose this fast fighting against any level 100 Wind Mage. But this Diamond Skeleton defeated her in just one attack, proving his strength was no weaker than any Devil Warrior of the Devils’ planet in Hell Realm.
Zora started coughing out blood as she struggled to stand up again, prepared for another attack from the Diamond Skeleton. Both of her hands were smashed, and Zora knew she couldn’t block another such powerful attack like that. Even so, her warrior’s pride forced her to continue to fight without giving up. The Diamond Skeleton’s right hand became normal, indicating that he wasn’t intent on going to attack again. Zora sighed out heavily in relief knowing just another powerful attack like that would definitely kill her.
The Diamond Skeleton said, “The next time you do something reckless such as attacking me will end in your death. Now tell me, where are Pope Hayward and Holy Mage Bigham?”
Zora answered in a trembling voice, not because she was scared, but because of the tremendous pain of having both arms smashed, “They are currently at Linkeep Island.”
“Linkeep Island? Why are they there?”
“For some official business with the world leaders. My son is there too. If my son was here, he would have killed you on the spot for disrespecting me.”
“Ah… Sounds like this son of yours is much stronger than you are.”
“Of course he is. He is a level 100 magic caster.”
“What is his name? Maybe I have time to see if he is strong enough to withstand three of my punches.”
“Haha… My son had an ultimate magic spell that he can use to transform himself into a Devil Battlemage. Just several attacks from him and that diamond-bones body of yours will be crushed. His name is Kain Bersk, don’t you forget that!”
Zora knew Arthur went through a Timeless Dungeon of another planet and he became a level 100 Conjurer Mage before returning to Toria Continents. Even so, Zora didn’t really know her son’s true power and was afraid this Diamond Skeleton would hurt him. Zora knew Noe Clerico would be strong enough to fight with this Skeleton, but she didn’t want him to have to fight two powerful enemies at the same time. That was why Zora decided to lie to the Skeleton and tricked him into attacking Kain Bersk instead, which would ultimately benefit the Mages Council.
