Twin Soul - Book 4: Chapter 15
While the world leaders were still shaking from what Saint Michael could do, Black-haired Vampire-Kain landed on the ground with Jaane in front of Lucius and Ateia. By the time Lucius was aware that Kain was standing in front of him, Kain casted [Vampiric Clench] spell and choked him using his telekinesis power. Ateia didn’t think twice as she withdrew her sword and struck it toward Kain out of the sheerest loyalty she had for Lucius. Before Ateia’s sword could touch Kain, Iviss appeared behind Ateia and slit her throat using both of her swords. Ateia’s eyes opened wide in shock as she dropped on her knee while the fountain of blood started pouring out of her throat.
Kain stared directly into Lucius’s eyes and angrily said, “You are not going to send any of your armies to fight against the angels huh.”
Lucius was then lifted into mid-air by Kain’s [Vampiric Clench] spell and slammed hard down into the ground. Kain evilly smiled as he heard how Lucius screamed in pain. Wanted to save her father, Zemelda touched her sword but before she could do anything, Iviss already appeared next to her with both swords placed on her throat.
Kain released his [Vampiric Clench] spell allowing Lucius to speak as asked him, “Did you forget who is the Supreme Leader of the Dryardian Empire?”
Lucius saw Ateia was still alive but she was shaking rapidly as blood continued pouring out of her throat. Lucius turned toward Zemelda and saw that she wasn’t harmed yet. Lucius quickly thought to himself and knew Kain could easily revive Ateia so as long as he said the right thing, Kain would forgive him and everything would go back to normal again. He then lifted his head up and looked at Kain, bit down his teeth to hide his anger, and said, “My deepest apology to you, Supreme Leader. I was wrong. I will never make any military action without your permission again.”
Kain smiled, nodded his head, and said, “I accepted your apology.”
Receiving a signal from Kain telepathically, Iviss slit Zemelda’s neck just like how she did with Ateia.
“No!” Lucius angrily shouted as he attempted to get up from the ground with the intent of attacking Kain to get revenge for his daughter. That was his fatal mistake because Kain was testing to see if Lucius could continue keeping his cool or not. Lucius should have known better about Kain could easily have both Ateia and Zemelda by commanding one of his Light Blood Mages to cast [Resurrection] spells on them. Anger could easily cloud Lucius’s judgment and it proved to Kain that Lucius wasn’t worth keeping around anymore since Kain didn’t want to have someone in charge of the Demi-Humans act stupidly out of emotion. Plus, Kain wanted to make an example out of Lucius for disrespecting him and this example would make all the Demi-Humans think twice before daring to go against Kain in the future. If Kain could kill one of the Emperors of the Dryardian Empire, he could do the same with everyone else including the world leaders who were standing right in front of him.
Kain activated [Bloodlust] spell then casted [Shadow Ripper] spell on Lucius to rip Lucius’s shadow to pieces. Within a second later, Lucius was also ripped to pieces just like how his shadow was. Kain turned toward Pescennia Agapta, Saint Warrior Berserker, Lion-kin Queen of the Southeast, and asked, “Would you like to be the next Emperor of the Demi-Humans and serve me? Or would you prefer to die just like him? I’m all about supporting free will and I will always respect your decision.”
“Free will? Does it look like I have a choice?” That was what Pescennia thought but she dared not to say a word about it. Pescennia showed no hesitation as she answered Kain’s question, “I swear my loyalty to you, my Supreme Leader. I would love to be the new Emperor of the Demi-Humans.”
Kain smirked and nodded his head in satisfaction as he said, “Good. All Kings and Queens of Demi-Humans will now serve you as their new Emperor.”
Kain turned his gaze toward all the Kings and Queens of the Dryardian Empire and asked, “Do any of you dare to disagree with me? Remember, I’m all about free will. You may speak your mind freely.”
After making sure no one disagreed with him, Kain turned his evil gaze toward the world leaders including the Lords of Colors of the Mages Council, and asked, “Are you sure of not joining us defending this realm against the angels? Be very careful when you answer.”
“I am sure.” A female voice firmly said.
Kain smirked again and shook his head as he saw it was Gwenn Bigham who said that. Gwenn was just revived and fully healed by Micah and she already opened her stupid mouth. Kain slightly nodded his head repeatedly and said, “Just because you are standing next to that angel, doesn’t mean I can’t kill you. Hoh… It seems like he is struggling to protect you from my father. The moment that [Holy Aura] and [Circle of Protection] spells are broken…” Kain stopped talking as Jaane whispered something into his left ear.
Micah appeared to be struggling to keep his [Holy Aura] and [Circle of Protection] spells active in protecting Gwenn and himself while they were being heavily under attack by the Champions’ souls that Hagar had released. Micah is very strong, much stronger compared to Gwenn Bigham who was a level 100 Light Mage. His physical strength is on par compared to a Devil Warrior and his magical power could be comparable to an Archangel. However, Micah isn’t a real Archangel therefore he couldn’t use any reserved magic spells created for Archangels. Similarly, Micah is just a projection of Michael and couldn’t use any unique magic spells granted to Michael by The Creator. In a real fight against Hagar, Micah wouldn’t be powerful enough to last for over an hour despite his ability to heal himself and recover his mana pool as a Light magic caster. In another way to say this, Micah is nowhere strong enough to survive a real fight with the almighty Noe Clerico.
While Noe and Michael were busy flexing muscles against each other earlier, Jaane had thought of a good plan to use the hatred Noe had into something that could be useful for Kain. After hearing of Jaane’s plan, Kain quickly agreed as he shouted, “Emperor Volsky, Guildmaster Revenmar, Emperor Pescennia, the battle between Noe Clerico and myself is now officially over. We will set sail back to the Dryardian Empire immediately to prepare armies and navies against the angels’ invasion. My second self and some of my conjured creatures will stay on this island to continue providing aid for Noe Clerico and Arthur Castillon to fight against the angels per our alliance agreement.”
Adrik Volsky and Kath Donoghan were planning on attacking Gwenn Bigham to kill her again right after Hagar had the Champions’ souls break through the protection spells casted by Micah. Kain commanding them to leave the island made them a little angry thinking losing such a precious chance of eliminating the Holy Mage would be wasteful. But opposing Kain only has one result and neither of them wanted to end up like Lucius, Ateia, and Zemelda.
After placing Kath Donoghan on the ground a little far away, Adrik flew toward Kain and landed in front of him as he disabled his [Ice Wings] spell. Adrik approached Kain and quietly asked, “Supreme Leader, can Kath Donoghan come back with us to the Dryardian Empire? The Mages Council still has a Holy Mage and no one would bow down to her while Gwenn Bigham is still alive.”
Adrik asked Kain that question because he wanted Kain to continue to fight to hope that they can kill Gwenn Bigham again so it would be easier for Kath Donoghan to be acknowledged as the new Holy Mage since no one in the Mages Council can be as powerful as her beside Gwenn Bigham. The Champions of the Mages Council were killed by Hagar Bersk the Diamond Skeleton, who else can oppose Kath Donoghan if Adrik Volsky and his Rogue Mages backed her up? Some powerful Solo-Executioners have already reached level 100, but they aren’t strong enough to survive against Adrik Volsky. If needed, Adrik and his Rogue Mages will eliminate all the current Lords of the Colors in the Mages Council and appoint new Lords. Noe Clerico and Arthur Castillon were busy fighting against the angels, no one was powerful enough to stop them from doing so.
Seeing Adrik Voslky had safely placed Kath Donoghan a little far away, Kain smirked as he knew what Adrik was planning. Adrik was afraid Kain would be furious and started attacking him just like how he did with Lucius Flavonius Acilianus. Black hair Vampire-Kain wasn’t strong enough to quickly eliminate Adrik in a short duration like Blonde hair Devil-Kain could. As long as Kath Donoghan has enough time to cast protection Earth Magic spells on Adrik, then he can easily bring her to escape from here together. Still, Adrik disabled his [Ice Wings] spell to show Kain that he had no intention of fighting against Kain unless he had to.
Kain asked, “Is the title of being the Holy Mage that important to your little girlfriend? Even if you can kill Gwenn Bigham again and Kath Donoghan becomes the new Holy Mage, is the Mages Council truly serving the new Holy Mage with the absolute mind or they would plan for a resurrection to overthrow her later? The Lords of the Colors are weaker except for Wrenn Fasketel, but there are powerful Solo-Executioners such as Enye Selmer who have reached level 100. I have tested Enye’s power before and she isn’t weak. If five or six Solo-Executioners like Enye Selmer team up with Wrenn Fasketel, do you think Kath Donoghan alone is strong enough to fight against them?”
Adrik said, “Now that the Champions are eliminated by Mr. Bersk, my Rogue Mages and I should have no problem moving back into the Mages Council and support Lord Donoghan of the Brown to be the new Holy Mage.”
“The Champions of the Mages Council were killed and their souls were collected by my father, but don’t you worry that there are some powerful magic casters who are hiding somewhere out of sight and they have sworn to serve the Mages Council? Toria Continents is a giant planet that has an entire realm to itself. There are many locations I haven’t looked into yet. Have you?”
“I have not.”
“Right. The Bifjorkian Theocracy wouldn’t stand idly letting you and your girlfriend control the Mages Council, right? Now that Bifjorkian Theocracy has taken over Tarlakalian Theocracy, their armies and navies are considered to be the strongest in this realm, am I wrong?”
“I… No, you aren’t wrong.”
“You know what, Adrik, let’s put all of that aside. I know you are strong, Adrik Volsky, but I need you in the Dryardian Empire to rule the human race. There is a world war coming, and I can’t do it without your help. You can bring Kath Donoghan and anyone you wish to your empire. After all, you are the Emperor, are you not? Imagine when we take over the world, rebuilding the Mages Council is as easy as flipping a hand, don’t you agree?”
