Twin Soul - Book 4: Chapter 16
Adrik heard Kain mention that the world war is coming, but he didn’t fully understand what Kain meant. Nevertheless, Kain wasn’t a hundred percent wrong about the Mages Council. Killing Gwenn Bigham to steal the Holy Mage’s throne wouldn’t last long, especially when now that people know Kath teamed up with Adrik and the Blood Mages and she would be viewed as the traitor. If Kath Donoghan can work with the Rogue Mages and Blood Mages to assassinate Holy Mage Gwenn Bigham, then what would stop others from doing the same to her when Kath becomes the new Holy Mage by teaming up with outsiders to kill her.
“Kain is right. Killing Gwenn Bigham now isn’t the ultimate goal that Kath and I needed to achieve. If Noe Clerico gets defeated by Saint Michael, then the Archangels will send their angels to slay Kath and I then they would appoint a new Holy Mage. But if Noe wins against Saint Michael, Noe can declare himself as the new Holy Mage or appoint someone else to be the puppet Holy Mage and no one would dare to oppose him. Now that I have seen Noe Clerico’s true power, without Kain’s assistance, I alone can’t secure the safety of Kath. Perhaps Kain Bersk has a good idea of how to ensure Kath Donoghan could secure the Holy Mage position for long. It’s better if I listen to him now.” Adrik thought to himself.
Adrik slightly nodded his head and said, “Thank you, Supreme Leader.”
Kain smiled to see Adrik didn’t oppose his decision and said, “You have made the right decision. Take Kath Donoghan with you to the Dryardian Empire and treat her well, then wait for my command.”
“Yes, Supreme Leader.”
Kain casted [Conjure Imreia], [Conjure Lazela], [Conjure Furcas], [Conjured Fyre], and [Conjure Aerlix] spells to conjure Imreia the Phantom Knight of the Nivin Tribe, Lazela the level 100 Wind Walker, Furcas the unique Demon Knight that can use Fire Magic in the Thirteenth Gate of Hell Realm, Fyre the Phantom Knight who uses a steel lance and a steel shield as weapons and can cast up to Legend-tier Earth Magic spells, and Aerlix the Frost Lich who can cast up to all Legend-tier Ice Magic spells. Except for Lazela who has already advanced into level 100 of Wind Magic, all other of Kain’s conjured creatures including Imreia have their physical strength and magical power to be boosted to match with Eleventh Stage Saint Warriors and level 100 Saint Mages.
Kain commanded Lazela to deliver a message to Hagar while other creatures grouped up to attack Micah who was still infusing his mana to defend Gwenn Bigham by maintaining [Circle of Protection] and [Holy Aura] spells. After Hagar received the message from Lazela, he didn’t hesitate and flew away from Linkeep Island as Kain held Jaane and flew right after him.
Approximately twenty miles toward the West of Linkeep Island. Hagar and Kain stopped flying to speak with each other. Hagar started asking, “Son, what matter do you have to speak with me so far away from other people?”
Kain answered, “Father, my souls are being possessed by Watcher Tykan. I heard you said something earlier about being the Key Keeper for Watcher Tykan and knowing how to get my souls back. Is that true?”
“Of course. Why would I lie to you?”
“I have become much more powerful with the help of Watcher Tykan, but being a puppet for the rest of my life isn’t something I’m intrigued by. Father…”
“Say no more. I have planned to ask Watcher Tykan to release your souls. But from your facial expression, I guess Watcher Tykan wouldn’t let go of your souls that easily. I don’t know what type of deal you have made with Watcher Tykan, but I would never stand idly by allowing any Watcher to turn my son into a puppet.”
Hagar then chanted for something and a black box appeared in front of him. He then chanted from something else and a black key appeared on the box. After he heard a clicking sound, Hagar said, “I hereby command the souls of Kain Bersk from Toria Continents to be released back to him.” Finished saying that, Hagar opened the box thinking Kain’s Souls would be released but the box was revealed to be empty.
“Huh?” Hagar confusedly said followed by the worried expression from Kain and Jaane.
Not just Kain, Jaane, but Hagar himself started to worry wondering why the box was empty. Kain was excited thinking his souls were to be released but nothing happened. Hagar was prepared to be punished by Watcher Tykan regardless of how cruel the punishment would be even if the punishment was going to be getting wiped out of existence in the lower realms. Now that Hagar opened the Souls Entrapment Container and still couldn’t help Kain to get his souls back, whatever punishment he would receive wasn’t going to be worth it. Just when Kain was about to ask Hagar, the box suddenly released extreme darkness of aura that quickly spread out surrounding the three of them.
A powerful twenty feet tall Devil appeared in front of them with a hostile look like it was ready to slay them all. Kain was about to cast the [Magic Annulment] spell to ensure Jaane can get away safely from the Devil just in case the Devil was going to cast any powerful magic spell toward her but an extreme redness of aura started pouring out of the box that also quickly surrounded them four including the Devil. The redness aura somehow managed to cancel Kain’s [Magic Annulment] spell and left him stunned wondering how that could be possible because Kain already activated [Bloodlust] to ensure his [Magic Annulment] spell was working strongly. The Devil’s wings suddenly turned into a pair of Vampire Emperor Wings which were much larger compared to regular Vampire Wings.
The Vampire Devil scanned his eyes on Jaane, Hagar, then stopped scanning when his eyes landed on Kain. The Devil asked using a happy tone, “You are our host, are you not?”
Kain noticed all the marks of Vampire Emperor Wings were similar to his Vampire Emperor Wings and that was why he calmed down knowing the Vampire Devil appeared from the box as parts of the souls that Watcher Tykan had possessed. Kain smiled and answered using a happy tone as well, “And you must be the parts that my souls were missing, right?”
The Vampire Devil didn’t waste any time and flew directly toward Kain. The moment its hand touched Kain’s chest, a bright aura started releasing from Kain and that bright aura then absorbed the two auras that were surrounding Hagar, Jaane, and Kain earlier. In less than ten seconds, the bright aura vanished after finishing absorbing the other two auras leaving Kain smiling after he noticed how strong his full power is.
“Son, how do you feel?” Hagar asked using a concerned voice. But after seeing Kain was smiling, Hagar’s mind calmed down and patiently waited for Kain to answer.
“Father, I feel great. Great… I feel so great. Now I know what it meant to be whole again. I can feel a burst of energy running through each vein of my body.” Kain answered while his eyes were still closing, enjoying the satisfaction feeling.
“I’m glad you have gotten your souls back to be whole again. Kain, this could be the last time we will see each other…” Hagar started speaking in a sad tone.
“Father, I know you are afraid Watcher Tykan would punish you for releasing my souls without his permission. I have thought about it before I asked you to make such a big sacrifice for me. I’m not a selfish person who would sacrifice my dad for my own good.”
