Twin Soul - Book 4: Chapter 18
The male human looked at Hagar, smirked, and said using a disgusted tone, “I’m Silas Stormwind, a Three Silver Stars Awakened Vampiric Monk. Serve Watcher Carnius and your hope of one day being as strong as me will be achievable. I alone can kill a thousand weak God Warriors like this incompetent Elspeth Stein here who just barely achieved awakened status in her training for roughly two million years ago. Having me as your guide will guarantee you won’t lose your life for at least twenty million years in the higher realms. Even though I already know the answer that you won’t be stupid enough to refuse, but I will still have to ask. So what do you say, Hagar Bersk? Will you serve Watcher Carnius?”
Even though Kain, Jaane, Liliana, and Zander weren’t able to move or say anything, they could still hear and be aware of everything that was going on. Kain thought to himself, “A God-tier Awakened Vampiric Monk? I have never heard of such a warrior class before. One Silver Star, Three Silver Stars… This must be referring to their ranking power in the higher realms. A Three Silver Stars God-tier can easily kill a thousand One Star Silver God-tiers huh. I have always looked down on Watcher Carnius because he only governs four small planets inside a medium-size realm in the lower realms. Damn me, I am nothing but a frog sitting inside a well thinking I have already seen all of the skies.”
Even a weak Watcher such as Carnius could have a powerful God-tier Vampiric Monk to serve him as his Messenger, Kain was way too over his head when he thought about how he would dominate the higher realms after he became a God-tier Mage or God-tier Warrior. Kain started thinking about how many powerful God-tiers Watcher Tykan and Watcher Zorim have under their commands in the higher realms and felt he had to be better prepared before advancing into God-tier. Noe Clerico couldn’t understand why Watcher Zorim forced him to stay for too long in the lower realms, but he had no idea how lucky he was because it helped Noe manage to create many powerful magic spells which would help him survive better in the higher realms. The Devil Overlord and Saint Archangel are considered to be the strongest beings in Hell Realm and Heaven Realm. There was no doubt that they could easily defeat a One Bronze Star God-tier Mage or several One Bronze Star God-tier Warriors. Nonetheless, there are powerful God-tier Warriors such as Silas Stormwind who could easily defeat both Saint Michael and Anwyn Richir in a handicap match against them.
Almost in an instant and without taking much time to think, Hagar said using a respectful tone, “Mr. Stormwind, I thanked you for taking your precious time to come here to speak with me today. I have already made up my mind about serving Watcher Merani. Miss… Lady Elspeth Stein, please be my guide in the higher realms.” Hagar referred to Elspeth as Lady instead of Miss because he didn’t know if she was married or not and offending a God-tier Warrior before stepping into higher realms wasn’t what he was looking for.
Silas’s left eye started twitching after hearing Hagar refused to serve Watcher Carninus and wanted to serve Watcher Merani instead. Silas grinned his teeth as he said using an angry voice, “Since you wanted to serve a weaker Watcher, suit yourself then. Be very careful when you roam around the higher realms because I will not hold back my anger when I catch you.” Finished saying that, Silas flew back into his portal and the portal immediately closed.
Elspeth slowly breathed out to hide how scared she was facing Silas, who was much stronger compared to her. Clearing her mind out of any frightened thinking, Elspeth smiled again and asked, “Sir Hagar Bersk, shall we go to the higher realms now? Watcher Merani is waiting for you.”
Hagar nodded his head and said, “I am ready, but allow me to say something to my son real quick .”
“Please go ahead but we only have ten seconds left.”
Hagar turned toward Kain who was still not able to move, speak, or do anything else except listen. Hagar patted Kain’s head and warmly said, “I don’t know much about Watcher Merani. But I once heard Watcher Tykan speak to Watcher Carnius and they seem to be on good terms. Kain, I will-”
Elspeth interrupted Hagar and said, “We are already out of time. Sir Hagar Bersk, we have to go now.”
“I understand. Thank you for your patience.”
A dark aura started surrounding Elspeth and Hagar then sucked them into the portal in a blink of an eye. The portal immediately closed after that and everything appeared to be normal again because Kain, Jaane, Liliana, and Zander were able to resume their movement.
Kain started thinking to himself, “I see… My father didn’t want to serve Watcher Carinus because that f*cker could turn him over to Watcher Tykan since they are on good terms. A weaker Watcher such as Carnius who already has a strong Watcher’s Messenger like Silas Stormwind wouldn’t mind losing my father to be able to stay on good terms with a powerful Watcher like Watcher Tykan. I remembered the way Silas Stormwind spoke with him, with absolutely no respect. While Elspeth Stein, on the other hand, called my father ‘Sir’ and it seems like Watcher Merani was more sincere in having my father serve her. She wouldn’t sacrifice my father to Watcher Tykan because she needed more good soldiers who can help her advance in her status of becoming a stronger Watcher. I was wondering why Watcher Zorim wouldn’t send her Messengers to recruit my father. Now that I understand because she knew he would decline to work for her anyway. Father knew I would never want to serve Watcher Zorim, the bitch that I hated so much, and he doesn’t want to be my enemy in the higher realms. About Watcher Tykan, he can go f*ck himself as well. Despite his best efforts to be on good terms with me, he turned me into a living puppet and that was unforgivable. Damn you Watcher Tykan. Damn you Watcher Zorim. No one can mess with Kain Bersk’s life and get away with it. Just you wait… One day I will be strong enough to slay all of your precious Messengers in the higher realms.”
Finishing thinking that, Kain whispered to himself while grabbing his right fist feeling the vast energy flowing through his veins, “Father, I knew what you were trying to say to me now. You will wait for me in the higher realms and we will serve Watcher Merani together.”
Released his right fist then carefully observed it, Kain whispered to himself, “Such great combat system… I have to control myself better. Now is not the right time to use it.”
Kain couldn’t understand how his physical strength and magical power greatly enhanced after he regained both of his souls. After his souls were possessed by Watcher Tykan, Kain felt like his physical strength surpassed Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior without even transforming into a Devil Battlemage which was already impressive. After a lot of thinking when he first came back to Toria Continents from the Timeless Dungeon, Kain concluded that he somehow borrowed part of Watcher Tykan’s power which explained how his magical power was slightly stronger compared to regular level 100 magic caster and his physical strength could surpass the regular Eleventh Stage of Saint Warrior.
The thing Kain didn’t know was Watcher Tykan has been sealing Kain’s true power ever since Kain was forced to participate in the Tykan’s Eye trials. After Kain agreed to become a living puppet for Watcher Tykan, he released ninety percent of Kain’s true power back to him. And now that Watcher Tykan was no longer able to withhold any of Kain’s power, he finally unlocked his true power and it confused him because Kain didn’t know the vast energy flowing through his veins was his true power emerging from both of his souls.
After Kain ate the Vampire Emperor’s heart while he was inside the Timeless Dungeon, Kain became a Vampiric Mage because of his ability to use Blood Magic. Because Kain’s Second Soul was upgraded from Demonic Soul to Devil Soul, Kain could temporarily merge both of his Souls into one and became a Vampiric Devil Battlemage which unlocked a new combat system. The reason Kain couldn’t do this before was that Watcher Tykan restrained him from doing so and prevented him from knowing such a technique was possible.
Linkeep Island. Noe Clerico, Gisella Renzo, Anwyn Richir, Devil-Kain, Finwe, Saint Michael, Isia, Arthur Castillon, and eight Archangels were able to resume their battle after the Watchers’ Messengers who arrived at Toria Continents to recruit Hagar Bersk left. Devil-Kain happily smiled as he tried the best he could to conceal the full power that he just unlocked after receiving both of his souls back. Exposing his true potential wouldn’t bring him any goods at this time, especially since the battle of Linkeep Island now was between Noe Clerico and Saint Michael. It doesn’t matter if Noe was going to win or not, Kain knew for sure his new unbarred physical strength and magical power would not put his Vampiric Devil Battlemage any weaker when compared to Anwyn Richir, the Devil Overlord. The fact that Kain could use Blood Magic to use human blood as an energy and healing source would make him an eternal-like being just like Saint Michael, the perfect creation of the Creator.
Gisella Renzo was still fighting strongly against Saint Michael’s avatars. Noe’s minions were protecting him while Noe closed his eyes and asked himself, “What is my purpose of continuing to be forced to stay in the lower realms while some other useless idiot just advanced into God-tier?”
Opening his eyes, Noe stared directly into Saint Michael who was still smiling at him. Noe smiled back and said, “The Creator may have created you in his perfect image and granted you eternal-like being status. But sometimes your perfect creation can disappoint you and that was why you wanted to destroy it to have another chance to recreate it.”
Continued smiling, Saint Michael mockingly asked, “Oh? Care to explain better what do you mean by that?”
“The Creator gave me a chance of revenge for my mother. At the same time, he wanted me to destroy you so he can recreate a better, perfect creation to represent him in the lower realms.”
“Hahaha… Noe Clerico, you amused me. Are you really referring to the Creator who wanted you to destroy me?”
Nodded his head, Noe confidently said, “No worry, I will not allow you to be permanently destroyed. I will turn you into one of my precious minions and make sure you serve me for all eternity. Be grateful for my kindness.”
“Damn… You are a funny boy. Just one problem though, that joke wasn’t funny at all.”
