Twin Soul - Book 4: Chapter 21
While Devil-Kain was fighting at Linkeep Island, Vampire-Kain wanted to test out one of his newly unlocked Blood Magic spell named [Origin] to go collect human blood by massacring the town of Meregheihaule belonging to the Republic of Yfari with the intent of recharging all of his Blood Equipment.
Opening his eyes after a short meditation learning of how powerful [Origin] spell truly is, Kain turned to look at Jaane and his children then said, “Now I understand why Vierna Pharm was so powerful. Watcher Tykan didn’t want me to make the same mistake Vierna did which was why he sealed this powerful Blood Magic spell from me. Such idiotic.”
[Origin] is the newly unlocked Blood Magic spell Kain gained access to after recovering both of his Souls.
Jaane asked using a concerned voice, “What kind of spell is it?”
Smiling in satisfaction, Kain said, “It is just a support type spell to help me last longer in a fight without the need of using Blood Equipment. I can use [Origin] and send out a monstrous swarm full of vampiric bats to collect human blood throughout an entire planet. At my current level, I can easily massacre an entire mid-size town contained over a billion in population in less than a week without the need of going over there because those vampiric bats will return to my location and induce all the human blood they have gathered into my blood pools and I can also using those human blood to refill my Blood Equipment at wills.”
“Aren’t vampiric bats weak and can easily be killed? A mid-size town that had at least ten million guards stationed would be a problem for the bats, wouldn’t it?”
“That’s the beauty of [Origin] spell. Those vampiric bats can revive themselves as many times as they want using the blood pools connected to my Twin Soul. As long as I am alive and have enough blood sources, those vampire bats could revive themselves as many times as needed. There are cons to this spell. If my blood pools are depleted before the vampiric bats make it back to my location, then all the bats would vanish into thin air and all the human blood it sucked would come to waste.”
“Kain, why would you think Watcher Tykan sealed that magic spell from you?”
“Isn’t it obvious? He was afraid I would mindlessly massacre this planet. Unlocked [Origin] spell is like unlocking an unlimited amount of energy source. As you have known, I can use Blood Magic to heal all of my wounds in an instant or even regenerate myself from nothingness as long as I have blood sources to do it. Noe Clerico isn’t the only one who can revive himself unlimited times anymore. Jaane, I’m planning to test [Origin] on Meregheihaule city and kill everyone in it. You and the kids wait for me to come back, alright?”
Liliana and Zander opened their eyes widely after hearing their father wanted to massacre an entire city of Meregheihaule. They dared to say nothing and had to look away to not make eye contact with Kain in fear of upsetting him. Kain had been an amazing father and a great role model for them but they never thought about how wicked Kain truly was. The humans in the Dryardian Empire volunteered almost in a begging way to be in the ‘Chosen People’ who could donate blood monthly to the Blood Mages Guild in exchange for financial stability. Liliana and Zander heard tales about Kain’s sad past. They learned about how Kain’s parents, meaning their grandparents, were killed in Flumen city by protecting Kain after Kain was discovered to possess a Twin Soul. They heard Jaane glorify on her stories of Kain about how he single-handedly dominated the arena during Student Mages Battle Tournament, rescued a fellow Blood Mage who was trying to save a three years old Twin Soul girl in the most dangerous city for Blood Mages in the world, defeated a level 45 Legend-tier Black Panther magical creature to save a professor and all classmates, then spared Jaane despite she could have revealed his true identity as a Blood Mage. Every time Liliana and Zander heard a story about their father from their mother, they pictured a perfect human being who worked his way up from being hunted by society to be the hero of all Blood Mages by creating a safe haven for the Blood Mages Guild in the Dryardian Empire. But now after hearing how Kain calmly said he wanted to massacre an entire town just to test out his newly unlocked magic spell, they couldn’t help but dare not to look into his eyes.
Jaane shook her head and said, “Kain, isn’t mindlessly killing everyone in a city just to test out a magic spell proving Watcher Tykan was right to block you from using that spell?”
Kain chuckled and asked, “So what?”
“Do you want to be another Vierna Pharm? Or do you want to be someone who could bring peace and stability into Toria Continents? Someone who could make Blood Mages live peacefully among the humans and Demi-Humans of this realm. This must be why Watcher Tykan didn’t want you to know about the [Origin] spell. This is inhuman.”
“I have never considered myself a human. The human killed my parents, hunted my kind. They portrayed all Twin Soul children who were born to be evil, then allowed me to prove them right. Make them regret not being able to kill me when I was three years old.”
“You have done a great job at creating peace with humans in the Dryardian Empire, why not do the same for the entire realm?”
“The humans of the Dryardian Empire were enslaved by the Demi-Humans. I freed them. They are different from the humans in the rest of Toria Continents. They aren’t my enemies, but my blood sources.”
“Then free all humans in Toria Continents as well.” Jaane started raising her voice.
Kain didn’t understand what Jaane meant when she said that, but he wasn’t happy with Jaane’s manner of raising her voice when speaking to him. Kain asked, “What do you mean? Jaane, when did you learn to disagree with me?”
“Kain, I’m sorry but I can’t agree with you on this matter. The humans in Toria Continents were raised and brainwashed into hating people possessing Twin Soul because of how cruel Blood Mages can be on choosing methods of obtaining human blood for their training. These humans are innocent because they are currently imprisoned in their thinking. That was how they were raised by their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents, their ancestors. If you become another Vierna Pharm then it wouldn’t make anything better for the Blood Mages. Didn’t you forget Vierna Pharm was killed by the Mages Council?”
“The history book was written based on a bunch of bullshit. Vierna Pharm didn’t die. The Mages Council claimed that they killed her, but she didn’t die.”
“Kain, my point is… the Mages Council didn’t have a Noe Clerico before and Vierna Pharm couldn’t defeat the Mages Council back then. Do you remember that the history book explained Vierna could use up to four different types of Elemental Magic including Blood Magic? You can only use three. Arthur Castillon wouldn’t stand idly by if Noe Clerico gets defeated by you again, am I right? Can you defeat both of them at the same time even with the help of [Origin] spell?”
A quick flash of how Kain was killed by Noe, then killed again by Arthur, started appearing in his head. Kain closed his eyes again and started to analyze everything. His Second Soul was busy fighting with three Archangels at Linkeep Island while Noe Clerico fighting one versus one with Saint Archangel Michael. Needless to say, Kain couldn’t disagree with Jaane about how Vierna Pharm was lucky because Noe Clerico and Arthur Castillon weren’t born when Vierna was causing chaos in Toria Continents. Kain had full confidence that he could defeat Arthur or Noe in a one versus one battle. But if Arthur and Noe teamed up, Kain wasn’t sure if he could defeat both of them in a handicap match.
Seeing Kain close his eyes and remain silent, Jaane continued, “You will become a God one day and travel to the higher realms, leaving the Blood Mages unprotected and they will be hunted by other powerful magic casters. Kain, you are the only one who can create peace among Blood Mages and regular humans, to ensure no children are executed because they were born with Twin Soul. You can do it with the Dryardian Empire, there is no reason you can’t do it throughout all countries in Toria Continents.”
Kain slowly opened his eyes as he said, “You leave me no choice. Very well… Liliana and Zander, stay here with your mother.”
“Kain, what about you? Where are you going?” Jaane quickly asked.
“I will visit Meregheihaule city by myself and speak with the City Lord. I will give a chance for the citizens of Meregheihaule to surrender. If they refuse to submit thinking the Republic of Yfari can protect them, then I will make some examples to help them learn better.”
Finished saying so, Kain got out of the secret underground bunker, flexed his Vampire Emperor’s Wings, and flew away leaving Jaane speechless, unsure of what else she could do or say to make sure Kain wouldn’t mindlessly kill innocent people. Jaane’s plans were to help Kain gain control of several big nations in Toria Continents using military power of the Dryardian Empire while Noe Clerico and Saint Michael were busy fighting with each other at Linkeep Island. There would be numerous casualties for nations that dared to stand against the Dryardian Empire, but those casualties will be in the armies and navies, not regular normal everyday people. Jaane loved Kain too much and married him regardless of how evil or wicked he is. Jaane knew lowering the hatred in Kain’s heart wasn’t easy, but she would never give up on doing so. If Jaane could warm Kain’s heart and melt the hatred he had to convert him into living like a regular human being, then there is nothing she would not trade for even if it cost Jaane her life.
