Twin Soul - Book 4: Chapter 24
“Noe, it is time to move on. Your mother’s soul will be set for reincarnation in the near future. I will ensure she reincarnates to a wealthy family in one of my realms.” Watcher Zorim said.
Noe was happy to see his mother’s soul was restored and after chatting with her for nearly a minute, he agreed and said, “Thank you, Watcher Zorim. I am ready to serve you in the higher realms.”
“It is rude to come to the higher realm and meet your guide while being half-naked like that. Here, take this.” Zorim snapped her finger after saying this and a glowing cyan color magical robe appeared in front of Noe.
Another pink light beamed toward Noe, allowing him to be able to move freely. Noe was a little disappointed because there were no Magical Conjuration Stones embedded on the robe, but after touching it, he could feel a strange tingling sensation which let him know it wasn’t any regular magical robe. Knowing Noe wanted to ask her what type of magical robe was it, Watcher Zorim explained, “This is the Sovereign Cloak, an ultra-rare God-tier item for Necromancer. The Sovereign Cloak is famous for its active ability. Once a day, you can switch places with one of your minions regardless of how far that minion is but limited to only within the realm you were staying at which means sending your minion to another realm for instant teleportation isn’t possible. As you have known, a small realm in the higher realms is at least a hundred times bigger compared to Toria Continents. Having a Sovereign Cloak in your possession could come in handy by creating an escape route when facing too many powerful enemies. Sovereign Cloak also had a passive effect, it could regenerate your health pool slowly without the need for healing magic. And lastly, it will shape into any type of clothes and any color you wish at any given time so you will never have to worry about fashion.”
Putting the Sovereign Cloak on, Noe asked, “Beside the tingling sensation, I didn’t feel anything else yet. How do I activate its ability and passive effect?”
Watcher Zorim smiled and said, “You will need to create a binding contract first.”
“I see. This is a Soul-bound item.”
“Yes. Once it is bound to you, no one else could ever possess it even after you are killed permanently. The Sovereign Cloak will simply destroy itself if that ever happens.”
“A self-destroy Soul-bound item…”
Dropping his blood into the Sovereign Cloak and creating a binding contract with it, Noe started feeling the passive effect from the Sovereign Cloak by recognizing his minor injuries starting to heal themselves. Noe turned his gaze back at Zorim, smiled, and respectfully said, “Watcher Zorim, thank you. Please allow me to say something to Arthur Castillon before I departed for the higher realms.”
Seeing Zorim nodding her head confirmed she allowed him to do so, Noe turned toward Arthur and said, “Arthur, you have been faithfully loyal to me and the Mages Council. I will now entrust the Gray to you. Arthur Castillon, you are the new Lord of the Gray from now on. One day… we will see each other again in the higher realms.”
Finished saying that, a powerful bright light beam shines directly at Noe Clerico. Approximately five seconds later, both Noe and Watcher Zorim vanished as everyone was able to move freely again.
Arthur gave the command for Isia to stop fighting as he banished all of his conjured creatures from Toria Continents back to the planet that he had created. The Archangels and angel armies that were fighting Arthur and Isia stopped attacking them, switched direction to start fighting with Devil-Kain and his demon armies. After seeing Arthur no longer wanted to fight with his angels, Saint Michael backed off allowing six Archangels to surround and fight with Kain while he laughed and said, “Arthur Castillon, Lord of the Gray. We have the same mutual enemies. You are wise to not make the same mistake that Noe Clerico had made. I am here to save Toria Continents per Watcher Zorim’s command. Instead of fighting against us, work with us and we shall bring peace to this realm once and for all.”
Devil-Kain didn’t need to ask Arthur any questions. As the new Lord of the Gray, Arthur has to serve the Mages Council which means obeying the Holy Mage and teaming up with a Blood Mage such as Kain is strictly prohibited. Unlike Noe Clerico who had a personal quarrel with Saint Michael, Arthur Castillon had no valid reason to continue teaming up with Kain without the Holy Mage’s permission. Kain smiled and asked, “Arthur, are you going to team up with the angels to fight against me now?”
Arthur conjured a Blue Dragon that can cast up to Legend-tier of Ice Magic spells. He stepped onto the back of the Blue Dragon and said, “I sworn to serve Lord Clerico. Now that Lord Clerico has departed to the higher realms and appointed me as the new Lord of the Gray, I can no longer fight against the angels without the Holy Mage’s approval. I will fly back to Flumen city to speak with the Holy Mage and urge her to defend our realm. If the Holy Mage refused… Kain Bersk, farewell.”
Without waiting to hear Kain say anything else, Arthur gave the command for the Blue Dragon to fly as fast as it could toward the direction of Flumen city. Still strongly fighting against the six Archangels, Kain shook his head and thought, “Looks like I have to use the [Origin] spell after all if I want to stand a chance fighting the whole Heaven Realm all by myself. I may have to sacrifice at least sixty percent of human lives in this realm but it is a must in order for me to win in this battle. The humans shouldn’t blame me, they should blame Arthur Castillon for refusing to team up with me.”
After thinking that, a painful feeling started to emerge within Kain’s heart. “Jaane wasn’t lying, this pain isn’t easy to bear.” Kain thought as he started defending instead of attacking against the Archangels while Saint Michael started to notice something was wrong with Kain.
Too many powerful physical attacks and spells were targeting Kain at the same time, Kain had to activate the [Time Slow] spell to dodge them all while continuing to think, “As long as I can get rid of Watcher Tykan completely, the pain ten times stronger than this would be too less for me to endure.”
Deactivated [Time Slow] spell to continue fighting using his overwhelming physical strength, Kain continued to fight as the pain in his heart grew stronger and stronger. The pain continued to increase and lasted almost twenty minutes but that didn’t seem to stop Kain from defending himself against the Archangels.
Saint Michael started asking himself, “What is wrong with him? He was fighting strong earlier while I was toying with Noe Clerico. His movements seem to be slower and slower. Is he acting that way to lure me to attack him?”
“The pain stopped. Has Jaane succeeded?” Kain thought to himself as he strongly swung his giant fiery battle-ax and forced the Archangels to fly back to dodge it.
The giant fiery battle-ax on Kain’s hands suddenly vanished, the same thing happened to his horns and Devil Wings on his back. While Kain didn’t actually understand what just happened, his quick thinking saved him from getting injured from falling five hundred feet above the ground by activating the [Demon Anatomy IV] spell on time to help him transform into a flying demon carrying a greatsword.
“What’s going on with my [Devil Anatomy]?” Kain thought as he started flying backward to get away from the Archangels. Using the flying demon form wasn’t strong enough for Kain to defeat any Archangel let alone six Archangels who were fighting with him.
Kain thought to himself, “I know [Devil Anatomy] can only be activated once a day, but why can’t I activate [Vampire Lord Transmutation] or use any Blood Magic spell? I can’t feel my eight blood pools anymore. No… something isn’t right. I can’t use my Conjuration Magic either. But Finwe and Anwyn Richir are still here which means I should be able to use my Conjuration Magic. I can no longer feel connected to my other Soul. Is it because my [Second Soul] was forced to dispel? If that is the case, then I should still be able to use Blood and Conjuration Magic. I haven’t selected Light Magic for my fourth Elemental Magic type yet, can I still select it now? What is happening to me? Jaane warned I would not be able to use the [Second Soul] spell… Jaane… Right. I can’t stay here leaving Jaane, Liliana, and Zander undefended. I can’t feel any connection with Iviss Sasken anymore. Jaane is strong for a Saint-tier Mage but she is nowhere powerful enough if encounters any level 100 Executioner of the Mages Council. I have to leave here now.”
Continuing flying backward, Kain shouted out loud, “Anwyn, Finwe, hold back all the Archangels for me. I needed to leave this island.”
Anwyn was clearly winning against the one versus one battle with Archangel Zerachiel. Hearing Kain’s shout for help, Anwyn squeezed her eyebrows and abandoned her fight with Zerachiel then flew toward Kain’s location to assist him by holding back the six Archangels that were chasing after Kain. Kain used this chance to start flying as fast as he could but it was much slower compared to when using his Devil Battlemage form.
Saint Michael didn’t intend to let Kain get away that easily. He smirked and said, “You are a dumb fool for deactivating your [Devil Anatomy] spell to lure me. Let’s see what kind of game you have.”
