Twisted Love - Chapter 17 Its All In The Details 1
Sofia was a simple person and Vincent knew it too. Knowing her type, he knew when she verbally agreed to something it means she would go through with it, and that is all he wanted. Everything else was in the details.
Being a successful businessman, Vincent knew how to word everything to go his way. And the rest would depend on the written and signed contract, getting her to miss a few key points would be a piece of cake.
Having gotten her verbal consent, Vincent was satisfied. Now all he needed to do was wait and the pray would be in the trap. The pieces were in place, all that was left was the waiting game. A game he was good at.
“When do you want me to start working for you? And would your son like me?” Finding a job so quickly was not easy, she did not want it to slip out of her fingers.
“You can start whenever you feel better. I dont want you to get worse.”
“I can start on Monday.” it was currently Saturday and by starting earlier, she could earn more money.
Seeing her eagerness to move in with him, Vincent got a much more satisfying result playing the ‘Saint’ rather then his usual ‘Devilness’.
“Hmm. I think it would be better to pack your stuff tomorrow and around 7pm I’ll send a car to pick you up and that way you will have the night to unpack and familiarize yourself surroundings.”
Letting her choose the time she wanted to start her work was nothing but the illusion of free choice. By planting the seed of doubt in her mind before hand, he was indirectly telling her to leave that house as soon as possible. And by not giving her the opportunity to rethink her decision, he was helping the seed grow unconsciously.
Now that his plan was in motion, all that was left to do was to get her to sign the contract and all her escape routes would vanish. After all, James McAne had no legal rights to sell the adult Sofia to anyone without her actually signing the contract, herself. So in other words, the $2 million was given to James in order to blind them from the truth. Like an expensive Vail, one can see through it but not clearly.
