Twisted Love - Chapter 71 Mid Life Crisis
They were finally home with Johnathan asleep in Vincent’s arms and Sofia walked alongside him in silence. After the long day of travel and an eventful night Johnathan had fallen asleep in the car with no sign of waking up.
Vincent took him straight to his room with Sofia helping him change Johnathan into his pj’s and into bed for the night.
“Thanks again for tonight.” Vincent said in a whisper to Sofia out in the hallway as he was closing the bedroom door. Turning and facing her he continued, “The pictures, do you want them printed or digitally?”
“Digital would be good.” Sofia smiled and added “Thank you for tonight. I only got through it with your encouragement. Good night.”
The pair separated to go onto their own paths leading to opposite destinations.
….
For Sofia the night was over and tomorrow night would be the time she could not wait for, but in the room across from hers was where a storm was being fought right then and there.
Vincent had the best time during the photoshoot. He had been able to hold his love so intimately, with her permission on top of it, and that was a step forward that he planned on taking all the more advantage of.
Vincent was having his first midlife crisis. To go forward with what he was thinking of doing the whole night or to wait it out for alittle longer?
It was a fight between his two devils.
People normally have one devil and one angel but Vincent King was not normal, he had two devils. One thinking of the future, the mature one, and the other thinking for the present, the instinctual one.
It was a fight that was too close for comfort. Even for the ‘Devil’ himself.
Vincent was being swayed by his hormones for the first time since his adolescents. During times like this he would hear one phrase, a thing his father always told him “To conquer oneself is to conquer something significant”
This was one phrase that was a game changer for Vincent and made him the person we was today. A King. As he grew to become the person he is, Vincent had developed a moto for himself that not even the strongest of men can follow. This moto was his take on his father’s advice. An advice from the role model of the masses.
‘To conquer a united soul, needs an undivided mind.’
As his thoughts wondered, his body with a mind of its own began to move. One destination in it’s path.
