Two Contracts – My Lover Is A CEO - Chapter 293
Che Mingliang was looked at Wu Lina’s pale face. It was cringed in pain and she had tightly clasped the table’s edge. He knuckles had turned white. Along with Che Mingliang, Zhou Hai xiang helped her to sit back in her office chair. The pain subsided after a few seconds. Wu Lina’s face was covered with sweat as she looked blankly ahead. Her mind became numb. Che Mingliang served her water and asked, “Madam, would you like to go home?”
Coming back to the present, Wu Lina said hysterically, “Yang Xinyu! Where is he? I have to meet him now!”
She got up from the chair frantically and started to rush out, when she got another sharp attack of pain. While her tears were running down her cheeks, she held her belly with both hands. Zhou Hai xiang didn’t wait and he just called the car in front of the office while he somehow managed to support her up and make her walk to the car. Even though she was walking and in acute pain, she only called out Yang Xinyu’s name.
—
Yang Xinyu was lying in a pool of blood, as he lay unconscious on the road near the car. Lu Shiming along with a few other security men picked him and rushed to the hospital. Being an ex-army, Lu Shiming knew how to press the would of a gunshot so along the way, the first thing he did was to remove clothing from Yang Xinyu and press the wound with a large piece of cloth so that the blood stops.
The bullet had hit his right shoulder, just below the clavicle. It was bleeding profusely. By the time they reached the hospital, a team of doctors was already ready for the operation. They took him inside the operation theater.
—
The mayor had rushed to the City M and straightway went to the hospital. When he went there, the operation was still going on. He had never been in so much tension in his life. His daughter-in-law had been experiencing sharp pain in the belly and his son was fighting for his life. He felt as if his entire life was slipping away from his hand – all his wealth, all his name and prestige – everything seemed worthless. He felt that his glasses had become misty. He took them out and realized that he had been crying.
While he was sitting and waiting for the operation to finish, Lu Shiming filled him with the details. “We have caught the sniper with his rifle and we are currently questioning him. But it looks like that he is a well trained assassin. We are unable to extract any information from him.”
“Start cutting his fingers one by one,” he replied coldly.
Lu Shiming went to his men and conveyed the mayor’s message.
—
Wu Lina had also been rushed to the hospital and her doctor had been closely monitoring her and her babies. Even though pre-mature contractions were common, she still had to monitor her in case the contractions increased.
Wu Lina had become so frenetic that the doctor was having tough time to calm her down. She kept chanting Yang Xinyu’s name all the time and wanted to leave the hospital to go to him. Lu Shiming had informed Zhou Hai xiang about Yang Xinyu and he had conveyed it to her.
Wu Lina’s heart hurt so much and she cursed herself for going to the office and calling him that time. “Let me go!” she shouted as she pushed the staff who was holding her down so that she doesn’t rush outside. Her mind was numb and there only one picture that was bouncing around it.
Yang Xinyu, Yang Xinyu…
“Don’t die, Yang Xinyu, because if you I won’t exist either. We had promised to stay together. You promised me that you would not leave me. You said you wanted these babies.”
Her frenzy turned into madness, as she gathered enough strength and freed herself from the staff. She ran towards the door but the security stopped her. “Let go of me,” she cried. “I have to go to Xini…” and she broke into loud sobs.
Eventually the doctor had to give her a sedative to calm her down so that she didn’t hurt the babies or herself. The sedative worked on her within five minutes as she became dazed. She lied on the bed, her eyes never stopping to cry even once. She shuddered and whispered his name…
—
The sniper was being tortured. His left eye was bleeding profusely and his ankle had been broken. He was in immense pain but he didn’t speak out the name of his client. When the guards got the message of their boss, one of them brought a plier to cut his fingers. He fixed the plier and asked him to name his client. When he didn’t speak a word, his thumb was cut first. The room was filled with his loud shrieks.
“If you will not give us the name, we will keep chopping these one by one.”
